Taylor Sheridan has become the talk of the town ever since the release of Yellowstone, a neo-Western drama series that follows the conflicts around the borders of Yellowstone Ranch. The series is currently in its final season with part one already out. The second part is all set to premiere towards the end of the year. Apart from Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan has created two prequel series for his show, 1883 and 1923. Two more spin-offs will also be released in the future.
A still from 1883 (2021 – 2022)
When it comes to 1883, Taylor Sheridan has been praised for the show’s historical accuracy, something which he hired a team of historians for. There is no doubt to the fact that the director’s attention to detail was mind-blowing. However, there is a very subtle yet noticeable inaccuracy in the prequel series that might question Taylor Sheridan’s perfectionism – the characters’ teeth.

Can television have its own New Hollywood moment?
Much like movies such as Bonnie and Clyde, The Graduate, Rosemary’s Baby and Easy Rider took the late 1960s by storm, a group of writers and directors are hoping that their own independent TV projects can break through and find their way to the small screen amidst the current Hollywood contraction.
After a number of web series such as Issa Rae’s The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, Broad City and High Maintenance were turned into TV series over the past decade, writers and directors hoped that this would lead to more.
However, the rise of streaming originals saw the business go the other way, with incredibly expensive dramas and comedies, often led by movie stars, taking over. This trend is now waning and a new generation of creators hopes that cost-conscious companies will now pay more attention to their projects instead.

Paramount Advertising President John Halley was preparing to preside over an upfront pitch to Publicis, one of the four major holding companies in the ad business, when big news crossed the wire.
Bob Bakish was officially out as CEO of Paramount Global. Much of the reason that the 27-year company veteran lost favor with board members and controlling shareholder Shari Redstone had to do with intensifying merger talks, which have also kept Paramount in the headlines. A couple of hours before the Publicis dinner, Paramount capped its newsy day by conducting a 9-minute earnings call and declining to field any questions from Wall Street analysts.
“It’s not my favorite backdrop,” Halley dryly conceded in an interview with Deadline. “I thought, ‘Is this going to derail our messaging?’ And we got into the room and it was very clear immediately that that was background and not foreground. We acknowledged it,...

Taylor Sheridan is undoubtedly one of the most powerful voices in the TV space with his shows being the flagship entries of the Paramount+ network. Yellowstone became a sensation in 2018 and it has spawned several spin-offs including 1883 and 1923. In 2022, Netflix released The Grey Man, an action thriller film starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Regé-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush (in his Hollywood debut), Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton. The movie received mixed reviews, with critics praising the cast and action but criticizing the “clichéd script.” The movie was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, with Joe Russo contributing to the script alongside Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Jerry Bruckheimer has nothing but praise for Bruce Willis when looking back at filming the 1998 blockbuster Armageddon, which Bruckheimer produced.
The legendary producer told People magazine, in an interview published Tuesday, that the Die Hard star was extremely kind to everyone working on the film set, especially the crew members.
“Bruce is such a good guy,” he said. “He was so generous to the crew.”
Bruckheimer specifically remembered Willis, who he called a “giving guy,” always contributing to cash giveaways for the crew at the end of each week.
“They’d have drawings, and he’d throw a lot of money in the hat, and the crew members would always take away some nice extra cash at the end of the week, whoever won,” the Top Gun: Maverick producer added.

Super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently told People magazine that Bruce Willis was so generous on the set of their 1998 blockbuster “Armageddon” that he gave money away to the crew to make sure people had some “nice extra cash at the end of the week.” Willis headlined the Michael Bay-directed film opposite Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck.

Bruckheimer called Willis a “giving guy” and a “good friend.” Apparently the “Armageddon” crew had a weekly cash pot going at the end of each week of production. Willis made sure to increase the jackpot with his own money to make the reward that much greater.

It’s always fun to discuss horror novels that Aren’T Stephen King. No knock on the monster from Maine, he’s the master of horror novels over the last, oh I don’t know, 50 years, for a reason but its nice to not have the show be solely dedicated to his adapted works. He says knowing that he makes the schedule and decides what books to cover. See you in May, Mr. King! Funnily enough, the man actually loved today’s subject to the degree that he called it one of 2006’s best horror novels, but more on that in a little bit. The Ruins (watch it Here) was one of those hot properties by an author whose previous work was an instant success with critics, fans, and studio executives that put it to celluloid. The book came out and just two years later we were given a movie...

Like everyone else during the pandemic, Paul Giamatti found solace on Zoom. The veteran actor caught an online talk presented by Stephen Asma, an author and philosophy professor at Columbia College Chicago. Giamatti liked what Asma had to say about imagination and consciousness, so he did what any well-connected fan would do and reached out.
“We were Zooming when Zoom was a new thing. It was nice to chat with this guy, and we found each other having these longer and longer chats,” says Giamatti during a rare break from his best actor Oscar campaign for his role in Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers. “Stephen jokingly said, ‘We ought to do something with this.’ ” The joke then turned serious. To craft their pitch, they sent one of their chats to visual artist Alex Sokol, who added animation and striking images to represent things they bantered about, like aliens, UFOs and bigfoot.

The cast for the Billy Bob Thornton-led Landman from Taylor Sheridan on Paramount+ just added another heavy hitter to the cast.
Jon Hamm, who has been having a TV reawakening with roles on The Morning Show and Fargo and voice work on Grimsburg, has just joined the series in a recurring guest-starring role.
If you're a fan of Sheridan's productions, you know that might mean Hamm is on screen a lot or very little. Only time will tell.
Hamm's nuanced portrayal of adman Dan Draper on Mad Men put him at the top of everyone's list to work with, and he's reaping the rewards with roles that challenge his skills without pigeonholing the actor's talent.
When his name is added to a show, people pay attention, and his addition is an asset for an already stellar cast on Landman.
