“I was crying laughing! I had to get out of the car,” reveals comedian Sebastian Maniscalco about a moment on set this season where he broke character and couldn’t contain his laughter. For our recent webchat he adds, “Man, I broke it last week and started laughing, and sometimes it’s only it’s in your head and no one even knows what the hell I was laughing about, but I had a whole story in my head about the character next to me.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Loving Adam Sandler means making your peace with the actor's wildly inconsistent output. It's not like The Sandman has ever been a critical darling; even during his rise to superstardom in the '90s, "Happy Gilmore" and "The Wedding Singer" were the only movies of his that you could reasonably call well-reviewed (and that's coming from an ardent "Billy Madison" defender). But the films that he's churned out under his Happy Madison Productions, which was founded in 1999, have been all over the place quality-wise. Even most die-hard Sandlites probably wouldn't go to the mattresses over stinkers like "Jack and Jill" and "Grown Ups 2."
That's only become doubly true since Sandler entered his alliance with Netflix in the 2010s. Sometimes, you end up with little more than "content" for viewers to stream and immediately forget, but you can also get remarkably good stuff like "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected...

The mother of all reunions is not over yet: Chuck Lorre said at Deadline’s Contenders TV on Sunday that Charlie Sheen will return for a cameo (or two?) in season 2 of Max’s Bookie.
The former star of Two and a Half Men showed up in season one as himself in the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy. The reunion almost upstaged the comedy itself, which follows bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as he and his partner, former NFL star Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), romp around Los Angeles trying to keep their illegal sports betting operation in play.
“I’ve always been an admirer of his work. His work is impeccable,” Lorre told the audience. “After all this time, his chops are undiminished. It was an extraordinary experience to put everything behind us and work together again.”
Lorre’s co-creator on the comedy, Nick Bakay, said the two of them have been marveling about...

This article contains spoilers for the ending of Lost.
Hiroyuki Sanada, star and producer of FX’s excellent miniseries Shōgun, is one of the most successful Japanese actors working in Hollywood today. English-speaking audiences have to come to know and appreciate the Tokyo-born performer through his roles in films such as The Last Samurai, Speed Racer, The Wolverine, Army of the Dead, and John Wick: Chapter 4.
TV nerds (including yours truly) had an entirely different introduction to Hiroyuki Sanada, however. For us, Sanada’s Western pop culture career begins with the final season of classic ABC drama Lost.
Despite what you may have heard about its ending Lost is one of the best genre series to ever grace network television. It also, admittedly, wasn’t perfect. And its simultaneously ingenious and infuriating use of Sanada in its sixth and final season is a perfect microcosm of the show overall.

It’s quite a reunion in today’s premiere of Chuck Lorre’s new Max comedy series Bookie.
The episode revisits the poker scene in Lorre’s Two and a Half Men pilot, which reunites Lorre’s Two and a Half Men alums Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones.
In the Bookie premiere, Danny, played by Sebastian Maniscalco, heads to Malibu to collect a debt from Sheen, whom he finds at a rehab facility. But Sheen isn’t a patient at the facility; he’s actually hosting a weekly poker game, and one of the players is “Half Man” Angus T. Jones, who played 8-year-old Jake Harper opposite Sheen on Two and a Half Men. The scene also includes the same poker buddies who attended Charlie Harper’s poker game in 2003.
Lorre spoke about the scene in an interview with Extra. “Charlie and I were discussing recreating that poker scene.

Apparently time really does heal all wounds. How else do you explain Charlie Sheen’s role in Chuck Lorre’s latest comedy?
Nearly 13 years after Sheen’s infamous meltdown led to his dismissal from CBS’ Two and a Half Men, the three-time Emmy nominee is reuniting with Lorre on Max’s Bookie, a single-camera series headlined by stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco.

The trailer for Chuck Lorre’s new dark comedy “Bookie” is finally here, and it showcases the efforts of the mega producer’s olive branch with Charlie Sheen 12 years after the infamous flameout that forced Lorre to fire him from “Two and a Half Men.”
“What if I make this right with some baseball memorabilia?” Sheen says in a guest starring role as a troubled sports gamber in the new trailer. “Guys, I’ve got Babe Ruth’s autopsy report.”
“I’m going to tell you something I never told a client ever,” replies Sebastian Maniscalco, who stars as veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny. “You shouldn’t bet on sports.”
In the trailer for the Max series, Maniscalco’s Danny is also forced to adjust his business by entering into the lucrative world of sports betting as California mulls legalizing sports gambling.

Bookie: How Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men) Made Amends for the Max Comedy Series
Bookie (formerly titled How to Be a Bookie) is coming soon to Max, and the new comedy has reunited executive producer Chuck Lorre and actor Charlie Sheen more than a decade after their well-publicized falling out over Two and a Half Men.
In the new Bookie series, Sebastian Maniscalco stars as a veteran Los Angeles bookie named Danny. The future of his livelihood is being thrown into chaos with the potential legalization of sports gambling in California. Alongside best friend and former NFL player Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), side-hustling sister Lorraine (Vanessa Ferlito), and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector (Jorge Garcia), Danny must contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts, all while making plenty of risky bets of his own. If pigs start to fly today, we’ll know why. According to Deadline, Charlie Sheen is reuniting with Chuck Lorre for the Big Bang Theory creator’s first comedy series at Max, How to Be a Bookie. It’s been twelve years since Sheen and Lorre stomped off in opposite directions. The duo collaborated on Lorre’s Two and a Half Men for an eight-year run before Sheen snapped and shredded Lorre publicly. Sheen’s outburst led to Lorre firing him from the mega-popular sitcom and killing his character. Ashton Kutcher replaced Sheen’s Charlie Harper on the show after Harper fell on subway tracks in Paris and got crushed by a train. Woof!
Deadline’s report says Lorre and Sheen have mended fences, with Sheen joining the new comedy in a recurring role for the single-camera comedy starring Sebastian Maniscalco. Sheen is trying to make a TV comeback, with...

Elijah Wood may be having a bit of a moment with "Yellowjackets," but it's far from his only headline-grabbing role. Wood has been steadily working on our screens since the late 1980s, with a varied career that includes acting in TV and movies, doing voice work, producing and writing, and more.
While Wood definitely has become a permanent fixture in pop culture thanks to his role in "The Lord of the Rings," his career is much more eclectic and varied than just the blockbusters. He's the kind of actor who seems to delight in taking unusual and creative projects, with roles ranging from outright comedy and family-friendly hits to thrillers, dark dramas, and everything in between. Let's take a look back at some of his big-screen highlights over the years.

File this under “extremely unlikely reunions”: Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre are set to work together again.
Sheen will have a recurring part on Lorre’s Max comedy How to Be a Bookie, starring comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The reunion for Sheen and Lorre will come 12 years after Sheen’s scorched-earth departure from CBS’ Two and a Half Men in 2011.
Max and Warner Bros. TV, which is producing How to Be a Bookie, declined to comment.
In 2011, Sheen’s erratic behavior and verbal potshots at Lorre, who co-created the hugely successful Two and a Half Men, led to his firing from the sitcom. His character, Charlie Harper, was written out by having supposedly died on a trip with stalker Rose (Melanie Lynskey) — though in the series finale, it’s hinted that Charlie is still alive. The show ends with a body double as Charlie having a piano dropped on him,...

Los Angeles, April 13 (Ians) Chuck Lorre, who co-created ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as well as its spinoff ‘Young Sheldon’, is in the early stages of developing another comedy series derived from that via his overall deal at Warner Bros. Television.
The news came out of Warner Bros. Discovery’s press day announcing its new streaming service. If ordered to series, the new ‘Big Bang’ project would stream on Max, the company’s rebranded platform combining HBO Max and Discovery+, reports ‘Variety’.
No plot details were revealed during the Wbd presentation. And though nothing is set in stone, it is believed to be an hour-long series featuring a mostly new cast with potential for known ‘Big Bang’ stars to appear in guest spots.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ aired for 12 seasons from 2007 to 2019 and brought the network major ratings successes by the end of its run, garnering just under 18 million viewers for its series finale.

The ABC drama Lost kept fans and critics hooked for six seasons. It wasn’t always positive. Not everyone was satisfied with the show’s answers to its own mysteries, but they kept watching to the end and many were. One development that did not go over well was the characters of Nikki and Paolo.

On March 28, 2007, Lost listened to fans and killed off Nikki and Paolo. Ironically, “Expose” turned out to be the best Nikki and Paolo episode. Here’s what happened:
The introduction of Nikki and Paolo on ‘Lost’
Lost was about the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island. The plane already included a large ensemble cast of survivors. Each week, Lost would focus on a different character and flash back to their lives before the island, informing some of the action on the island.

Writer and director Phil Blattenburg has done a good job here to create a World War II movie set ten years after the end of the war. That might sound a bit strange but Condor’s Nest looks and feels very much like a World War II movie but takes place a decade later. We follow an American aviator who is out for revenge and on the search for Nazi war criminals. But he soon gets mixed up in much more than just that.
The opening scene of Condor’s Nest is possibly the best scene of the whole movie. It has a hint of Tarantino to it but is a bit less dialogue and a bit less subtle about things. This scene is during World War...

In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Jorge Garcia divulged the story of his and Matthew Fox‘s strange interactions on the set of Lost.
“There was a period of time where Matt Fox and I were going through, I don’t know, we got into a habit of trying to get each other’s pants wet,” Garcia laughed. “In that scene, you get sprayed a lot because you need to look like you’re sweating during most of the time and that just started from there to shooting each others crotches with a spray bottle and it just escalated to where at one point apparently I crossed the line, I didn’t think at that time, I put ice cubes in his pockets on his home jeans and he’s like, ‘you crossed the line because we were only doing wardrobe but you did my pants that I was supposed to wear home.

“I love the ending,” Garcia said. “Yeah, Hurley gets the island at the end. I have no complaints. I mean listen, there are the people, the diehard fans, that watched everything, analyzed everything, and didn’t have as much of a problem as other fans. I feel like the fans that had issues with it, I don’t know, there’s a lot of people who thought this wasn’t paid off and I was like, yeah it was paid off here, you know. It’s like there’s some people who weren’t paying as close attention that they’re more of the people who I think had the bigger problem with it. Endings create controversy. This just means that people...

For better or worse, Lost was one of the most influential shows of the past couple of decades. The series, which follows a group of survivors after their plane crash-lands on a mysterious island, sparked a cultural phenomenon with its compelling characters and supernatural mysteries. And one of the ABC show’s most prominent characters had a role written just for them.
