Netflix has unveiled the first look at Zack Snyder’s director’s cuts, ‘Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood’ and ‘Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness.’
In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Motherworld, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants, and orphans of war who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.

We’ve known all along that director Zack Snyder intended to release extended, R-rated director’s cuts of his movies Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) and Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver (read our review of that one Here), which were rated PG-13 in their shorter form. What we didn’t realize is that the director’s cuts would have different titles than the shorter versions – but Netflix has just confirmed that is the case, while also unveiling a batch of images from the director’s cuts and announcing that they will both be available to watch on their streaming service as of August 2nd. The new title for the director’s cut of the first movie is Rebel Moon – Chapter One: Chalice of Blood. The second movie is Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness.

Criminal: John Hawkes, Pat Healy, & more join Charlie Hunnam in Prime Video’s Ed Brubaker adaptation
John Hawkes has been one of my favorite character actors since he first came to my attention back in the ’90s with roles in films like Roadracers, Night of the Scarecrow, From Dusk Till Dawn, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, so it’s cool to hear (from Deadline) that he’s going directly from a multi-episode role in the latest season of True Detective to landing a recurring role in the Prime Video series adaptation of Criminal, the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Sean Phillips. Hawkes, along with Pat Healy (Better Call Saul), Taylor Selé (Bmf), and Logan Browning (Dear White People), join previously announced cast members Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Adria Arjona (Hit Man), Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water), and Kadeem Hardison (A Different World).

We’ve known from the start that director Zack Snyder intended to released extended director’s cuts of his movies Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) and Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver (read our review of that one Here), which were rated PG-13 in their shorter form. The prequel film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it is as brilliant and bombastic as the original film. Obviously, we are talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel to George Miller‘s 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by Miller from a screenplay by Nico Lathouris and Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is taken from Green Place of Many Mothers and tries to survive in the wasteland while trying to get back home but the war between great biker horde’s warlord Dementus and Immortan Joe makes it harder. Replacing Charlize Theron from Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy takes over the role of Furiosa in the prequel film and it also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Nathan Jones. So,...

According to rumors, James Gunn will make Green Arrow a part of his Justice League team in the Dcu. The character has a decent fanbase, thanks to Stephen Amell’s eight-season run as Oliver Queen in The CW show, Arrow. Earlier, Zack Snyder tried to include the character in the Dceu, with another actor considered for the role, but it didn’t ultimately work out. Interestingly, rumors also suggest that Dcu will make Black Canary his partner.

Taylor Sheridan is an incredible actor, producer, director, and writer. But before he was singlehandedly running one of the best series of all time, the Hollywood star was just an actor struggling to make ends meet. In 2008, Sheridan was roped in to play Deputy Chief David Hale in the Charlie Hunnam-starrer Sons of Anarchy.
Taylor Sheridan created and acted in Yellowstone | Paramount Network
However, the Yellowstone showrunner’s character was brutally killed off in season 3 after Sheridan did not agree to the wage rate he was being paid. And then apparently to take revenge, Sheridan took to his critically acclaimed series to take a digg at the FX series.

Marvel hasn't been having the best time of late and the shaky attempt to recapture lightning in a bottle that was "Thor: Love and Thunder" is a good example. Whereas its predecessor, "Thor: Ragnarok," saw star Chris Hemsworth leaning into his comedic sensibilities to great effect, even Hemsworth himself agreed that "Love and Thunder" was just too silly. But when the God of Thunder made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut all the way back in 2011, the opposite was true.
Whereas "Iron Man," the film that changed Hollywood forever by kicking off the massively popular interconnected universe, was led by Robert Downey Jr. and his magnetic charisma, 2011's "Thor" was a darker affair that embraced the character's origins and delivered what was essentially a fantasy adventure with relative unknowns in the lead roles of Thor and Loki. In the late-aughts, Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston did not enjoy the superstar status they do today,...

While Guy Ritchie’s brand new movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare isn’t doing as well as everybody wished in the box office, a real lifesaver has already come to the director’s rescue.
Four years after its theatrical release, Ritchie’s action comedy hit The Gentlemen is finally available to stream on Netflix — and the timing for the movie’s arrival couldn’t be better.
Having a star-studded cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Hugh Grant, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong and many others, the film follows American cannabis wholesaler Michael ‘Mickey’ Pearson who seeks to sell his weed empire so that he and his wife Rosalind, portrayed by Michelle Dockery, could spend the rest of their life carelessly.

Charlie Hunnam partially owes his prominence to some big sci-fi projects like Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim or Netflix’s recent hit Rebel Moon directed by Zack Snyder, but it turns out that years ago he could’ve landed another iconic sci-fi role — and missed it out in the nick of time.
In his recent interview with Variety the actor revealed that back in the 2000s he was one of the finalists for the role of Anakin Skywalker in George Lucas’s epic space opera franchise Star Wars.
Hunnam had quite strong competitors as Lucas was aware of the significance of Anakin’s role in the movies and thus wanted to give it to someone who already proved himself in Hollywood.
In that case in particular, Charlie Hunnam had to beat Hollywood's main rising stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul Walker, Ryan Philippe and many others to become an important...

Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon is now streaming in full on Netflix, with last year’s Part One: A Child of Fire followed by this year’s Part Two: The Scargiver.
But the Rebel Moon saga is far from over, because Zack Snyder’s Director’s Cuts of both movies are coming to Netflix. And they’re said to each be around One Hour Longer.
Of particular note, the Rebel Moon Director’s Cuts will be rated “R,” promising the bloody violence that wasn’t found in the PG-13 versions of the two movies currently on Netflix.
For starters, Rebel Moon – Part One: Director’s Cut has been rated “R” for…
“Brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.”
We don’t yet have a release date for these Director’s Cuts. Stay tuned.

Following a limited theatrical release, director Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (read our review Here) was released through the Netflix streaming service back in December, then Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver (read our review of that one Here) reached the service last month… but we’ve known from early on that these PG-13 versions of the movies wouldn’t be the only versions we’d see. Snyder has also put together extended director’s cut of both films, which will each have around an hour of additional footage. They’re expected to be released through Netflix sometime this summer, possibly in August, and the director’s cut of Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire just got its rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board. It earned an R for brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.

It used to be said that every movie, no matter how badly it did at the box office or critically, went to heaven. Heaven, of course, meant physical media. First, it was VHS, then it was Laserdisc, then DVD, Blu-ray, and now 4K Blu-rays; every movie would get some kind of physical media release. After all, rentals and sales were important to a film’s profitability. In fact, some movies that tanked theatrically did so well on DVD that they became perennials, such as Donnie Darko or The Transporter, with the DVD sales of that movie directly influencing the studio to greenlight a sequel and give Jason Statham a legit career as an action star. Yet, despite physical media making a comeback, it’s worth noting that some of the most popular movies in recent memory have never gotten a physical media release. And we’re not only talking about...

Danny Boyle’s upcoming 28 Years Later is already assembling quite the cast. According to Deadline, Jodie Comer (The Bikeriders), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The Fall Guy), and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) are set to star in 28 Years Later.
There were rumblings that Jodie Comer was in talks to join the cast of 28 Years Later last month, with Charlie Hunnam also said to be in talks for a role; I imagine that could be the role that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will now play. The first installment of the 28 Years Later trilogy will be directed by Danny Boyle and scripted by Alex Garland, with production expected to kick off later this year.

What was initially a plan for a Star Wars film rejected by Disney seems to have transformed into the worst flop in the career of director and writer Zack Snyder, as the recently released Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, the sequel to Rebel Moon, is once again panned by critics, with the ratings listing it as Snyder’s worst movie – yes, worse than even the horrible Sucker Punch and the first part of Rebel Moon. And while Snyder’s ambition cannot be denied, and we can expect the extended R-rated cuts to receive better ratings, it seems that Rebel Moon will be, on an overall level, considered a failure.
The movie was officially released on Netflix on April 19, 2024, and while the streaming service had been hyping up fans ahead of the premiere, alongside Snyder and the cast members, who discussed the series in a number of interviews, it...

While Henry Cavill defined Superman for a decade, he has now moved on from the franchise and has been working on new projects. The actor was last seen in Matthew Vaughn’s spy comedy Argylle and is set to feature in the historical action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The actor is also working on a Highlander reboot.
During the premiere of the Guy Ritchie directorial, Henry Cavill reportedly made fun of his unlucky streak as Superman. While talking about his collaborations with Ritchie, he mentioned his alleged post-credits scene in the director’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. He also took a dig at his appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam while doing so.

This Rebel Moon article contains spoilers.
Love him or hate him, you cannot deny Zack Snyder garners more attention than most filmmakers working today. It’s no surprise that his fans have been champing at the bit to see his the second part of his dark sci-fi epic, which it titled Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver.
Snyder debuted Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Light in December. That film introduced viewers to a futuristic science fiction world, drawing from beloved tropes about scrappy rebels, mysterious prophecies, and a totalitarian empire. The movie pulls ideas from Star Wars, the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, and Frank Herbert’s Dune imbues them with his signature gritty style to create something that feels very nerdy and very Snyder.

Everyone who’s seen even one Zack Snyder movie knows that the filmmaker has a very specific and, in many ways, unique approach to his movies. Snyder is a visionary for some and a failure for others, but he doesn’t leave you indifferent, that is certain. And while we could discuss many of his projects in light of these comments, we are going to focus on his current project, the two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon, whose second part is going to be released soon.
Snyder has sat down to discuss the second version of his movie. Namely, we know that an R-rated Director’s Cut of both parts will be released by Netflix at a later date, while the two initial versions we’ve seen are reduced PG-13 versions. This is nothing unusual for Snyder, who has revealed that the R-rated cuts are truly brutal and very different from the original versions.

Deadline reports that Candyman director Nia DaCosta is in talks to helm the second installment of the upcoming 28 Years Later trilogy set up at Sony Pictures.
The first installment of the 28 Years Later trilogy will be directed by Danny Boyle and scripted by Alex Garland, with production expected to kick off later this year. The report states that the sequel will start shooting immediately after, which is why Sony is already in the process of locking down DaCosta. The studio also wants to make sure each director is on the same page in regard to the story while also having time to bring their own vision to life. Garland will be scripting each installment of the trilogy.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but recent rumours have pointed to Jodie Comer and Charlie Hunnam being in talks to star in 28 Years Later.

It was the time of World War II when a team of top-secret soldiers killed the Nazis in a way that wasn’t considered very “gentlemanly”. Well, although it is based on true events, Henry Cavill and Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is not exactly…”realistic”.
