Everywhere on social media, you read comments from readers lamenting our modern culture.
They long for the good old days when comedy was offensive, antiheroes said whatever they were thinking, and actors were judged by their undeniable talent rather than the biggest mistakes of their careers.
Plotlines were more important than representation. Complicated characters were more important than "Wokeness."
Back then, they say, it didn't matter if a character was black or gay. All that mattered was the story.
We watched because a filmmaker had something important to say, not because every race and sexual orientation appeared and was treated with respect.
We listened because regardless of what anyone said about a comedian, at least he was funny!
Unsurprisingly, many of the same social critics would also say no movies from the 2010-2030 era will be remembered as classics 20 or 30 years from now.

We recently learned that Scarlett Johansson's next Marvel Studios project, which she'll produce rather than star in, could be The Blonde Phantom.
Now, thanks to scooper Daniel Richtman, we have a few additional details, including the fact this role is one of the characters singer Taylor Swift discussed with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during their recent meeting.
As we're sure you'll recall, it's been widely reported that Swift - who counts 14 Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, 40 American Music Awards, 39 Billboard Music Awards, and 23 MTV Video Music Awards among her many accolades - had a "good" conversation with Feige about joining the MCU. We didn't expect Blonde Phantom to be on the list but she clearly stands out to both Johansson and Swift.
Richtman adds that this would be a spy show which takes place in Las Vegas in the 1950s.

Marvel Studios’ X-Men movie is gaining momentum as the project lands a writer.
Michael Lesslie, who is known for his work on the series The Little Drummer Girl and the recent prequel feature The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is in talks to pen the new film focused on Marvel Comics’ iconic mutant team, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The feature does not currently have a release date or a director attached.
X-Men remains a popular property for Disney following the recent success of well-reviewed Disney+ animated series X-Men ’97. The show is a reboot of the fondly remembered X-Men: The Animated Series, which launched in 1992.
The team made its comics debut in 1963 from creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Its first feature film arrived in 2000 with 20th Century Fox’s X-Men from director Bryan Singer. Two sequels followed, with the team getting rebooted for 2011 prequel...

For years many fans of Pixar films have become familiar with a particular voice in their movies. That voice is actor and comedian John Ratzenberger. While many growing up in the 1980s remember him as Cliff Calvin on the popular sitcom Cheers, children from the mid-1990s to the late 2010s have heard his voice in other places.
Starting in the 1995 animated film Toy Story as Hamm the piggy bank, the actor went on to appear in 23 films for the animation studio. He was P.T. Flea in A Bug’s Life, Yeti in Monsters Inc., The Underminer in The Incredibles, Mack the Truck in Cars, and many more. In essence he became the Stan Lee of Pixar.
However, in recent years, he has been noticeably absent. His last vocal appearance was in 2020’s Onward as Fennwick the Cyclops. There was apparently a cameo in 2020’s Soul, but it was more...

The one fatal mistake that most TV shows make is using TV cameos gratuitously. If the cameo doesn't mean something to the audience and the characters in the show, it's pointless, and little more than a random Stan Lee Appears gag.
On the other hand, too many shows have fallen into the trap of celebrity worship with their cameos.
Having cast members gawk and gape at their celebrity crush as if to reinforce the celebrity's prestige while doing nothing for the universe we enjoy is a waste of talent.
For this list of the top TV cameos worth celebrating, we will focus on iconic cameo appearances that gave the show some unforgettable moments that made TV history.

What better way to give Seinfeld the better ending many feel it deserved than by bringing back the cast and the original set and doing a bit of self-parody?...

Spider-Man: Far From Home introduced audiences to Mysterio, one of Spider-Man’s most important and dastardly villains. Jake Gyllenhaal’s portrayal of the character had audiences believing that the character was genuinely heroic, even those who thought they knew how the character was in the comics. However, the film also introduced another important character into the MCU: Spider-Man’s very first antagonist from way back in The Amazing Spider-Man #1.

Dmitri Smerdyakov is the oldest antagonist that Spider-Man ever faced, better known as The Chameleon. Half-brother to Kraven the Hunter, the character has had a long history with Spider-Man, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Dmitri was present in Spider-Man: Far From Home as a background character, appearing in several shots as a close associate of Nick Fury.

If being hilarious is a crime, then, Adam Sandler would be the guiltiest man alive. The actor is just one of those rare comedic talents giving back-to-back hits, which make the audience laugh their heads off. Throughout his stellar acting career, Sandler has done a ton of films, but his most popular film would be Happy Gilmore.

Despite the low score on the Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is considered to be one of the best films of the actor’s career. To make things more interesting, Netflix has announced a sequel to the 1996 film. However, major concern looms around the film as fans believe none of the actors could replace the legendary actors from their iconic roles.

The three-part Finale of X-Men ‘97 has finally concluded, and what a ride it proved to be! The 10-episode-strong Season 1 of the series presents a stellar narrative that pays off its audience in multiple ways.
The overall narration, the cameos of several Avengers, and the way in which the season combined multiple popular comic book arcs means that X-Men 97 has perfectly recaptured everything the Marvel characters have always been known for.
This, among a range of nostalgia-ridden details, also includes the fact that the franchise in itself has always drawn parallels from the actual world. Whether it be through the intolerance that human beings hold for mutants, the existence of extremism on both sides, or through the polar opposite perspectives that major characters have, X-Men ‘97 perfectly captured the true essence of the popular franchise.

Adam Scott might have the most thankless part in Madame Web. He exists simply to share the screen with a listless Dakota Johnson and trade expository dialogue about how her character Cassie Webb doesn’t like children or anything related to family—obnoxious signposts to give the movie something like a character arc. Cast to bring the good will he earned playing wholesome snarks in Party Down and Parks and Recreation, Scott delivers his lines with a wry reserve that feels like resignation.
And yet, Scott’s mere presence in the film gives Madame Web an important quality lacking in all of Spider-Man’s MCU appearances. Because Scott isn’t playing any guy who shows way too much concern for his co-worker’s disinterest in being a mother; he’s playing Ben Parker, beloved and ill-fated uncle to Peter Parker.
Save for some monographed luggage in Spider-Man: Far From Home...

Scarlett Johansson, previously announced as the producer of a confidential Marvel project, marks her debut in this role. Following her lawsuit against Disney after the simultaneous release of ‘Black Widow’ in theaters and on Disney+ in July 2021, which was resolved two months later, Johansson’s portrayal of Natasha Romanoff has concluded. However, fans can anticipate her involvement in an upcoming MCU project she’ll produce alongside Kevin Feige.
Recent reports suggest that Scarlett Johansson is presently collaborating with Disney+ on a secretive venture. The clue emerged from Courtney Baker, a creative executive at Marvel Studios, who updated her LinkedIn profile, hinting at new developments or responsibilities within the company.
According to Giant Freaking Robot, the project under wraps is a live-action series centered on Blonde Phantom. It remains uncertain if Scarlett will portray Blonde Phantom or if her involvement will be purely behind-the-scenes. However, with the current Multiverse theme, her leading role seems plausible.

Scarlett Johansson was previously announced as the producer of the top-secret Marvel project, which should be the first project where the actor serves as the producer. When ‘Black Widow’ was released in July 2021 in theaters and on Disney+ simultaneously, Johansson filed a lawsuit against the company, which was settled two months later. Although we won’t see her in the role of Natasha Romanoff anymore, we will eventually watch the MCU project she will produce alongside Kevin Feige.
The latest reports indicated that Scarlet Johansson is currently involved with Disney+ working on a top-secret project. The hint came from Courtney Baker, a creative executive at Marvel Studios, who recently updated her LinkedIn profile to reflect new developments or roles within the company.

It’s official. Galactus is coming to the MCU.
After months of speculation, Marvel officially announced that they’ve found their Galactus. Ralph Ineson, a Game of Thrones veteran known for standout supporting roles in The Witch and The Green Knight, will portray the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson’s casting comes on the heels of other compelling announcements for its upcoming film The Fantastic Four, including Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich. Marvel hasn’t yet disclosed which characters those two are playing, but the smart money has Hauser down for the Mole Man. Malkovich could fit a number of characters, including minor baddies Puppet Master or Diablo, including just a grouchy official. Heck, maybe he’ll finally get to play a version of the Vulture, as he was slated to do in Sam Raimi’s abandoned Spider-Man 4!
While any of those baddies would be fun, the Galactus casting deserves the most attention.

"The Witch" and "The Green Knight" star Ralph Ineson is known for playing imposing, sometimes otherworldly figures (also: a love-to-hate-him character in the UK version of "The Office"), so it's only natural that he'll be playing a supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. News broke yesterday that Ineson has been cast as Galactus, the planet-eating god figure whom Jack Kirby and Stan Lee first introduced during a Fantastic Four run in the '60s. Galactus appeared in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" in 2007, but this time around, the character will return to a much more interconnected Marvel world beginning with Phase Six kickoff "The Fantastic Four."
Ineson may have just nabbed a major role in the long-running superhero franchise, but this actually isn't the first time he's appeared in an MCU film. A full decade ago, Ineson popped up briefly in "Guardians of the Galaxy," playing a Ravager pilot.

Marvel Studios has found its big bad for The Fantastic Four, as Deadline has confirmed that Ralph Ineson (The First Omen) has been tapped for the role of Galactus.
News of his casting follows our break from earlier today concerning John Malkovich joining in a mystery role. As previously announced, the core cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Paul Walter Hauser is on in another undisclosed role, with Julia Garner set to play Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer.
A pivotal character in the Marvel Comics universe, Galactus originated from the creative minds of writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. Making his debut in Fantastic Four #48 in 1966, Galactus originated as Galan a humanoid inhabitant of the planet Taa.

Years before Sam Raimi’s ground-breaking Spider-Man trilogy made it to the big screen and forever revolutionized the comic book superhero genre, there were several other iterations of the tale with several other filmmakers and actors associated with the project. One of them was James Cameron, who was eager to have a more mature and grounded take on the web-slinger’s live-action debut film.

Associated and contacted by Carolco Pictures, Cameron originally wanted Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead before the studio went bankrupt. However, if the filmmaker’s version of the movie had made it through, we would have gotten Spider-Man fighting two different Marvel villains in his first film.

Captain America: Brave New World is less than a year away from hitting theaters and, if we're really lucky, a trailer might be attached to Deadpool & Wolverine later this summer.
In the meantime, a new still from the movie has started doing the rounds on social media - seemingly from Empire - which features Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), director Julius Onah, and Xosha Roquemore's mystery character.
Cap is suited up and appears to be in a war room. As for Roquemore, it's previously been reported that she's playing Leila Taylor. Introduced in 1971 and created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr., she was Sam Wilson's girlfriend but faded into obscurity in the early 2000s.
On the page, Leila was a journalist who fought for equal rights and eventually worked for The Daily Bugle. This version looks like she might work for the CIA or be a Secret Service agent,...

Have you ever anticipated a moment in the X-Men saga that turned out to be both thrilling and devastating? Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Beau DeMayo’s X-Men ‘97 faithfully recreates and adapts the esteemed X-Men comics from the 1980s and 1990s, paying meticulous attention to every last detail. And the final moments of this week’s episode (Tolerance Is Extinction) align with this assertion.

Well, in the middle chapter of the three-part Tolerance Is Extinction finale, fans finally got to see their much-anticipated moment starring Magneto and Wolverine. The episode also featured one of the show’s most shocking cliffhangers to date. Magneto ripped the Adamantium from Wolverine’s skeleton, indicating a turning point for Logan as we enter season 2.

Spoilers for "X-Men '97" to follow.
"I am trying to be better," proclaimed Magneto — "Please... do not make me let you down." He was speaking to a small United Nations panel, but addressing humanity as a whole. So, of course, mankind again forced his iron (controlling) fist.
As of episode 9, "Tolerance Is Extinction Part 2," Magneto is once more an antagonist to the X-Men (I won't say "bad guy"). He puts on his old red outfit, complete with the telepathy-blocking helmet. Regrettably, I don't think we'll be seeing Magneto back in the opening credits team line-up anytime soon, if ever again.
This heel U-turn is far from unmotivated, though. The season's Big Bad, Bastion, orchestrated the genocide of mutant nation Genosha and intends to build a future where human/Sentinel hybrids rule enslaved mutants. Magneto is a Holocaust survivor (a tragic backstory that "X-Men '97" has maintained). He's always refused to...

This X-Men ’97 article contains spoilers.
For all of the many, many logic leaps that superhero stories require, one of the most glaring occurred in X-Men. Why would the X-Men employ Wolverine, a guy with a metal skeleton, to fight Magneto, a guy who controls metal with his mind? Sure, occasional stories addressed this question, at least by having Magneto toss the ol’ Canucklehead across a room from time to time. But the Master of Magnetism rarely pressed his advantage.
Except, that is, for one story, which laid the groundwork for the ninth episode of X-Men ’97, “Tolerance is Extinction Part Two.” The episode recreates a scene from 1993’s X-Men #25, written by Fabian Nicieza and penciled by Andy Kubert, in which Magneto does the unthinkable (or the inevitable?) and tears the adamantium skeleton out of Wolverine’s body.
But more than a mere callback to one of the most shocking Marvel Comics moments ever,...

David Benioff and D. B. Weiss’ Game of Thrones transcends boundaries as a beloved historical fantasy series. However, while captivating fans with a story based on uncertainty of life, ruthless wars, and politics, the HBO show unfortunately ended up failing to justify a few deaths that weren’t even a part of the original storyline crafted by George R.R. George R.R. Martin is known for his A Song of Ice and Fire book series, which would become the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones. The writer has been in the business for decades and has contributed his storytelling to multiple franchises, including the Wild Card anthology series of novels as well as the Elden Ring games.
Martin’s writing in Game of Thrones is known for its merciless killing of fan-favorite characters. Fans at the time were surprised by an important death in each season and many times the arcs of these characters were not even complete before their demise. The author mentioned that when he was younger, he loved The Avengers #9 comics because of one character’s death.

Even if you’ve never read a single X-Men comic book in your life, you probably still know some of the big stories. The Dark Phoenix Saga, in which Jean Grey gets possessed by a world-destroying entity of unspeakable power. Days of Future Past, in which an X-Man from the future comes to the present to prevent the unthinkable. Weapon X, in which Wolverine is transformed into a killing machine.
These stories get told and retold in movies, cartoon shows, and video games, and with good reason. They’re among the best superhero stories ever written. But they’re hardly the only good stories in X-Men history. The team has existed since 1963, and while they didn’t hit their stride until writer Chris Claremont took over in 1974, that still leaves decades worth of complex, complicated issues to unravel.

The Big Bang Theory owes its immense popularity not only to the talented cast and the compelling storyline revolving around four geek friends that have to navigate through life using their gifted minds, but also to the impressive list of guest stars that ever appeared in there.
And though Sheldon Cooper, portrayed by Jim Parsons, could’ve seemed to be extremely calm while sharing the screen with the biggest stars, the actor himself was pretty much affected by these situations.
Throughout the whole run of 12 seasons, the show’s main cast got to work with the pop culture and science’s legendary figures like Stan Lee, Stephen Hawking, Charlie Sheen, Bob Newhart and many others — but one movie star in particular made Jim Parsons forget how to breathe normally for some time.
As he revealed, sharing the screen with Star Wars’ legendary actor James Earl Jones got him a weird feeling.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that Black Bird and Cruella star Paul Walter Hauser has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four.
It's another exciting and impressive addition to the reboot, though there was no word in the trades about who he's playing. The voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. is one possibility, though Mole Man is another suggestion which is being batted about online.
Hauser would be a great choice for a sinister new take on the baddie. Plus, with a story which takes place in the 1960s, using Mole Man as a supporting villain is a, well, fantastic way to pay homage to the team's first comic book appearance.
While he stops short of confirming Hauser has been cast in the role, Jeff Sneider (via The InSneider) is reporting that the current script for The Fantastic Four opens with Marvel's First Family defeating Mole Man.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four” cast just got more fantastic with the addition of Emmy winner Paul Walter Hauser.
Joining the MCU marks the latest in a string of high-profile projects for Hauser, who is set to play Chris Farley in the upcoming biopic directed by Josh Gad and landed a prime role in “The Naked Gun” reboot, which boasts an ensemble led by Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
With “The Fantastic Four,” he’ll appear opposite Marvel’s First Family, the first characters created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The superhero quartet will be played by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).
Matt Shakman will direct “The Fantastic Four,” from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.

Spider-Man 3 swung into theaters again yesterday, but it was way back in 2007 that we first saw Peter Parker encounter the alien costume.
The web-slinger soon embraced his darker side, though it was a relatively rushed subplot and one we've since learned was shoehorned into the threequel by producer Avi Arad (who expected to sell a lot of Venom toys).
In the movie, Tobey Maguire's web-slinger was decked out in a black version of his regular red and blue suit. Venom was a little more comic-accurate, though quite a bit smaller than the version on the page. In fact, the design continues to divide the opinions of fans.
However, something tells us what you'll see in the X post below would have really left fans fuming.

George R.R. Martin was not fond of the toxic fanbase of his work, Game of Thrones, which became a TV sensation. Martin revealed that they would send all kinds of threatening messages, especially after the poor reception of the eighth season. It made Martin remember the good old days when he was a superfan of Marvel. He revealed that he didn’t resort to hatemail when he didn’t like The Incredible Hulk show that ran on TV or the Captain America home movies.

Who would have guessed the author of A Song of Ice and Fire novels George R.R. Martin, to be a Marvel fan? Usually, writers of his stature often claim to be neck deep into von-Goethe, Hemingway, and the obvious Shakespearean dramas. But Martin broke stereotypes after claiming to be an avid comic book fan, particularly inclined towards Marvel, more than DC.

Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.
