When Tony voters looked at their ballots for best musical in 1960, they must have felt lightheaded. They were tasked with choosing a winner among the latest Rodgers and Hammerstein (The Sound of Music), a political drama that would go on to win the Pulitzer (Fiorello!), a new kind of psychological biography (Gypsy), and an uproarious fairy-tale comedy (Once Upon a Mattress). I’m not sure if any of the 2024 nominees for best musical will stand the test of time quite like that stunning lineup. But as was true 64 years ago, there are at least four celebrated contenders vying, all equally convincingly, for the top prize.
Part of what makes this season’s best musical category particularly tricky to predict is the volume of productions that aren’t on the ballot here: At various moments throughout the season, in which 15 new musicals opened (and six have already closed), it would have...

This Fall, Academy Award winning superstars George Clooney (Ocean's Eleven; Up in the Air; Gravity) and Brad Pitt (Fight Club; Bullet Train; Babylon) reunite for the first time in sixteen years for director Jon Watts' next film, the action-comedy Wolfs.
Sony Pictures Releasing and Apple Studios have launched the film's official trailer, which previews one of this fall's most exciting releases as the actors play a pair of fixers who find themselves partnered up on a job that gets wilder and wilder by the minute.
In the film, "Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected."

Completan el reparto Amy Ryan (“Sugar”), Austin Abrams (“Euphoria”) y Poorna Jagannathan (“The Night Of”).
“Wolfs” se estrena en cines el 20 de septiembre.

Hollywood has no shortage of iconic duos, but when it comes to action and comedy, there is nobody like Brad Pitt and George Clooney. From their first collaboration in 2001 to now, the actors have remained good friends. Yet it has been 16 long years since they starred together on the big screen.

But, the wait is finally over since the trailer of their latest collaboration is here. As the trailer for their upcoming action comedy film, Wolfs dropped, fans can’t help but think that it is about time they did another Ocean’s movie as well.

Throughout the years, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have teamed up multiple times – not just on Ocean’s Eleven (and the subsequent Twelve and Thirteen), but also on the Coen Brothers’ Burn After Reading. And now, 16 years after that comedic shaggy-dog tale, the duo is back on screen together, teaming up in Jon Watts’ upcoming comedy-thriller Wolfs. That’s a proper movie-movie-star pairing, combining to lead Watts’ return to more grounded territory after helming Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home; his latest film sees Clooney and Pitt play solitary crime scene fixers, who suddenly find themselves having to work together after both being called to clean up the same mess. Watch the trailer here:
Wolfs (it’s going to take a few goes to get used to how that title sounds) looks to be that all-too-rare thing – a film-star-led original studio picture, not originating from any kind of source material.

From the files of “We Are So Back”: Sony and Apple Original Films released the debut trailer for “Wolfs” on Wednesday, the first onscreen reunion of George Clooney and Brad Pitt since 2008’s “Burn After Reading.”
The Oscar-winning actors and frequent collaborators play rival fixers in the new thriller from “Spider-Man” filmmaker Jon Watts. The project, which also stars “Euphoria” breakout Austin Abrams and Oscar and Tony Award-nominee Amy Ryan, is due out in theaters on September 20 thanks to Sony. As with “Napoleon” and the upcoming “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Wolfs” will later stream exclusively on Apple TV+.
Here’s the official logline: Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high-profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.

Let’s admit if folks: we all love the professional a-hole archetype. Mafia, killers, thieves, con artists, and whatnot — as long as they’re charismatic, we’re going to watch the ever-living hell out of movies about them. Hollywood knows it, so this time, they decided to drown us in pure charisma and masculinity as George Clooney and Brad Pitt are about to make their outing as hired killers and charm us once more.
Wolfs Are on the Hunt and They’re Pissed
Jon Watts, the director of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies, is tackling a very different genre this time around. He’s working on a crime thriller called Wolfs, and he has an amazing crew: the movie will be led by Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Oscar nominee Amy Ryan. The screenplay is written by Jon Watts himself because if you want something done well, you do it yourself.

"Who are you?" "I'm here to take care of your problem." Sony Pictures & Apple Original Films reveal the first official trailer for Wolfs, an action comedy coming to theaters later this year (and eventually streaming on Apple TV+). Wolfs is the latest movie from director Jon Watts, who is taking a break from Spider-Man after making the three MCU movies before: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. Though he's sticking around in NYC. The film follows two lone wolf fixers who are assigned to the same job. George Clooney and Brad Pitt (reteaming again after the Ocean's movies), two "lone wolves", are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected. The cast also includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Irina Dubova, Poorna Jagannathan, with Zlatko Burić. Featuring some slick cinematography by Larkin Seiple. This seems like a good one!

Brad Pitt and George Clooney are two lone-wolf fixers who are forced to work together after they’re tasked with the same assignment in Jon Watts’ upcoming action comedy “Wolfs,” in theaters Sept. 20 via Sony.
As Clooney puts on gloves to cover up what looks like a grisly murder, he assures a woman, “There’s nobody who can do who I do.” Seconds later, Pitt walks in wearing a similar outfit, already gloved.
In addition to Pitt and Clooney, the cast also includes Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan and Poorna Jagannathan.
Pitt and Clooney also serve as producers on the film for their respective Plan B Productions and Smokehouse Pictures banners. Apple is the third studio, having won a bidding war against Sony, Lionsgate and Netflix for the movie package. Sony Pictures Releasing is distributing the film.

Brad Pitt and George Clooney are back together on film — outside of the “Ocean’s” cinematic universe.
The duo co-star in action-comedy movie “Wolfs,” which is written and directed by Jon Watts. In “Wolfs,” Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high-profile crime. George Clooney and Brad Pitt aren’t exactly team players in the first trailer for their new comedic thriller, Wolfs.

The fix is in, and it’s lowkey hilarious. For the first time in 15 years, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are together again for the upcoming thriller Wolfs. The film reuintes Clooney and Pitt as rival fixers called into to dispose of a corpse by their shadowy employer, only for the corpse to be far from dead, and in the possession of a massive amount of drugs. Going by the teaser trailer, the film has serious buddy-comedy vibes, mixed with a bit of gunplay and action. With a September 20th release date, a debut at one of the fall film festivals would make sense, with TIFF an obvious choice for that looks to be a star-studded crowdpleaser. Indeed, seeing Clooney and Pitt mixing it up again is fantastic.

While they both provided voices for John Krasinski’s If, we’re considering Wolfs to be the true reunion between Ocean’s and Burn After Reading stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The action comedy also marks Jon Watts’ first non-superhero feature since his breakout with Cop Car and ahead of a September 20 release, the first trailer has dropped.
Here’s the synopsis: “Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.”

Our eyeballs are in for a treat as Brad Pitt and George Clooney reunite after 16 years for the upcoming action comedy “Wolfs.” The two biggest stars in the world were last seen in the 2008 crime comedy “Burn After Reading.” The spy spoof, which grossed over $163 million from its $37 million budget, was an entertaining ride alongside zany characters.
The dynamic duo is back with a teaser trailer for the action comedy Wolfs from Columbia Pictures and Apple Original Films. Although Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have recently been in conversation allegedly about their troubled marriage, they once made headlines for being one of the most popular couples in Hollywood, especially after showcasing their chemistry in the romantic crime drama, Gigli. Despite the couple being sensational at the time, the film failed at the box office and was heavily panned by critics.

However, despite its devastating box office reception and critical failure, the actor has no regrets about the film, not only because he met Lopez while filming the movie, but also because it prompted a significant shift in his career trajectory.
Ben Affleck Has no Regrets Regarding the Disappointing Film Gigli
In a conversation with his friend and fellow actor Matt Damon for Entertainment Weekly, Ben Affleck reflected on the disappointing 2003 film Gigli while acknowledging its role in steering him toward what he considers the true passion of his professional career.

Apple TV’s sci-fi detective thriller Sugar wrapped up its first season with another twist, which was difficult to anticipate. However, nothing can match the major twist of the show that revealed John Sugar to be an alien, residing on earth with other fellow aliens, to study the behavior of human beings. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Sugar Season 1 Episode 7 “The Friends You Keep.”] Now that the big secret about Colin Farrell‘s private investigator is out—he’s an alien!—the show can lean into that. And that includes a change to Sugar‘s opening credits, which now end with his eyes glowing. It was always the plan to do that following the reveal in Episode 6, says executive producer Audrey Chon. “We were hiding a lot of things and we thought it’s just kind of a wink and a nod to revealing that he’s an alien at that point,” she tells TV Insider. Sugar’s investigation into the disappearance of Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), the granddaughter of producer Jonathan (James Cromwell), led to him meeting Melanie (Amy Ryan), Olivia’s former stepmother. The two have bonded, and he’s turned to her at points, but he can’t tell her his secret, as much as he wants ...

A former rock star turned junkie, who eventually became an activist for women’s safety in abusive relationships, Melanie Mackintosh in Apple TV’s Sugar is one of its most significant characters. As a fan of The Office, seeing the adorable Holly (Amy Ryan) play a layered and solid role is always delightful. Melanie is the ex-wife of Bernie Siegel and the last person who saw Olivia before she disappeared from the face of the earth.
Melanie is a woman who knew success from a young age and then fell off the tracks as she grew older. One can imagine that marrying Bernie Siegel definitely put some of her prime years to waste. Now Melanie finds herself an alcoholic who starts drooling when she sees Sugar for the first time. After a night of constant drinking, Melanie invites Sugar back to her house. Daniel Radcliffe’s post-“Harry Potter” career has long been dominated by his theater work, both in New York and London. On April 30, he finally scored his first Tony nomination, for his role in the musical “Merrily We Roll Along.”
Radcliffe’s buzzy stage work began in 2007 with a run in “Equus” on both sides of the pond. He powered a delightful, blockbuster revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” in 2011 (Grammy nomination), and since then, he has chosen an eclectic mix of projects, work where his name alone can often get challenging — or even just serious — work funded. Think the occasionally dense “The Cripple of Inishmaan,” the provocative “Privacy,” or the genre-bending experiment “The Lifespan of a Fact.” He’s long been an asset to the NY stage scene, and this morning’s recognition long-deserved.

Close races and sharp elbows are likely when the 2024 Tony Award nominations are announced Tuesday morning. With so many shows opening during the onslaught of the past two weeks, nominators might still be clearing their minds — and maybe taking a moment to eat and breathe — as they ponder and re-ponder the 36 productions that opened on Broadway between April 28, 2023, and April 25, 2024.
Some of the nominations are no-brainers: The much-praised and hugely popular Merrily We Roll Along is a sure bet for all concerned, but what about more polarizing fare? Cabaret, Here Lies Love, Water for Elephants, I’m looking at you.
A selection of categories will be read live on CBS Mornings at 8:30 am Et, and a full livestream of the announcements will follow at 9 a.m. Et on the official Tony Awards YouTube page.

A new musical, a musical revival and a new play with music will dominate the 2024 Tony Awards nominations, according to our official odds in 17 of the 26 categories. The latest revival of the classic John Kander and Fred Ebb musical “Cabaret,” fresh off a smash run on the West End, and the new musical “Hell’s Kitchen” that is loosely based on the life of Alicia Keys and her music will both net at least seven nominations. New works “Days of Wine and Roses,” “Here Lies Love” and “Suffs” and the starry revival of Stephen Sondheim‘s notorious flop “Merrily We Roll Along” will also earn substantial nominations tallies.
Playwright David Adjmi‘s “Stereophonic” will lead this year’s crop of plays and play revivals with at least five nominations. Right behind are five other works – two new shows and three revivals – that will all tie at least four nominations apiece,...

This year’s supporting actress candidates will not have to fend off reigning champ Jennifer Coolidge of “The White Lotus,” which is set to return in 2025 with an almost completely fresh cast. All nine acting nominees from the show’s most recent season are presumably finished playing their roles, as are 2023 featured female competitors Rhea Seehorn and J. Smith-Cameron from the concluded series “Better Call Saul” and “Succession.”
