Peter Dinklage became a force to be reckoned with at the Emmys during his tenure as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” with the actor winning four wins from eight nominations. The cast of “Game of Thrones” was so good, however, that many of them are still Emmys forces even after the show ended and they’ve moved on to different projects. Let’s take a look at the “Game of Thrones” alumni who could compete at this year’s Emmys.

Actors Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup celebrated a second wedding in Mexico City one year after their courthouse ceremony. The couple, both 55, began dating after costarring in the Netflix drama series Gypsy in 2017. The two married in a courthouse ceremony in June 2023. One year later, Watts and Crudup exchanged vows again in Mexico City on Saturday.
Watts’ brother, Ben Watts, shared photos and videos from the celebration on his Instagram. Watts wore a simple but elegant floor-length gown, while Crudup donned a sophisticated black tuxedo. Members of the bridal party wore strapless beige dresses similar in style to Watts’ wedding dress.
The couple’s children, whom they share with their past partners, also attended the ceremony, including Watts’ children Sasha and Kai with fellow actor Liev Schreiber. Crudup’s son with Mary Louise Parker was also in attendance. Other notable guests included Nicole Kidman and Justin Theroux.

“Is it a gift or is it not a gift that you can only play the age you are?”
It’s a rhetorical question Diane Lane asks — but doesn’t pretend to have the answer to — and also a thought she embraces.
“I am grateful for it,” she says. “And I’m optimistic that I’m at the right age to play some interesting people.”
Interesting is one of the many things that could be said about Slim Keith. In FX’s “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” Lane plays the real-life socialite, who was among the women that acclaimed novelist Truman Capote collected like prized confidantes in the 1960s, before using the secrets they entrusted to him as thinly veiled material for his final unfinished novel, “Answered Prayers.”

In school, Jonathan Bailey studied “Mulholland Drive,” examining the nuances of Naomi Watts’ breakout performance. Now Bailey has the chance to grill the Oscar nominee about her process. In Ryan Murphy’s “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans” from FX, Watts portrays Babe Paley, the New York socialite and one of Truman Capote’s “swans,” whose falling out with the author was legendary. And after steaming up the screen in “Bridgerton,” Bailey takes on another sweeping romance with Showtime’s “Fellow Travelers,” this time as Tim, an idealistic congressional staffer who enters into a decades-long affair with a closeted World War II veteran and State Department official.
Naomi Watts: I heard that you were shooting three things at the same time: “Bridgerton,” “Fellow Travelers” and “Wicked.” Is this true?
Jonathan Bailey: That is true. [His voice cracks.] Did you hear? My voice just broke.
Watts: Yeah, because you have Ptsd?
Bailey: Maybe?...

Much like our social media-driven news cycle today which is fixated on cancelation and schadenfreude, there arguably was a judge, jury and executioner style in Truman Capote’s published Esquire pieces, read “La Côte Basque 1965″ about New York City female elites. Ryan Murphy and Jon Robin Baitz’s latest FX limited series Feud: Capote vs. Swans dives into Capote’s deconstruction and takedown of the fancy ladies he supped and partied with.
How in God’s name would Capote operate in a social media world?
We kick around that notion today with the series’ stars Tom Hollander who plays the tender, though nitpicky and sassy Capote, and Naomi Watts who plays the author’s best friend, though a betrayed one.
Hollander acknowledges that there remains today, like decades ago “a ghoulish fascination about the glamor and the compromises” of high society women, “there’s sort of a style porn that...

“Feud: Bette and Joan” took the Emmys by storm in 2017, with the first season of the Ryan Murphy anthology show receiving rave reviews for its depiction of the rivalry between actresses Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange).
Season two will hope to match that Emmy success (more on that later) with its portrayal of Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) and his falling out with a group of New York high society socialites known as the Swans. Capote wrote a fictionalized account of the Swans’ dramatic lives, leading to the Swans vowing revenge for betraying their confidence.
The glossy show is typically gorgeous, scandalous, and theatrical while the performances are all top-drawer. Hollander dazzles in the lead role as Capote, which is no mean feat considering the late, great Philip Seymour-Hoffman won the Best Actor Oscar for his turn as Capote in 2005’s “Capote”). Meanwhile, Naomi Watts, Diane Lane,...

Jude Law has been teasing audiences for decades now. His looks, charm, tenacity, and willingness to channel that success in interesting, unexpected directions have always been admirable. But one of his riskier pivots — perhaps only in retrospect — was David O. Russell’s 2004 ensemble black comedy, “I Heart Huckabees.” Co-starring Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Jason Schwartzman, Mark Wahlberg, Naomi Watts, and many others, the film follows a group of interconnected lives all being investigated by “existential detectives.” Law had admired Russell and, unlike some of Russell’s past players, continues a relationship with the auteur to this day, but knows the film and the process of making it can be viewed with a negative light.
“The experience of making that film was bizarre,” said Law in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. “We were all there doing it for nothing, just loving being in each other’s company and playing. I remember fantasizing,...

In the final moments of “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” episode seven, Tom Hollander’s Truman Capote is dying. His last words are “Beautiful Babe,” referencing his Swan Babe Paley, played by Naomi Watts. The following episode, the season finale is aptly titled “Phantasm Forgiveness,” a dreamscape scenario that hops between the past, present and future.
In an imagined scenario, Capote continues drafting his book “Answered Prayers” and imagines his character P.B Jones apologizing and making amends as he seeks forgiveness. In the show, Capote betrays his close circle of New York’s high society circle of powerful women known as the Swans by publishing a story titled “La Côte Basque, 1965” in Esquire and revealing their secrets. The Swans include Babe, C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) and Slim Keith (Diane Lane).
Speaking at Variety’s TV FYC Fest, executive producer and writer Jon Robin Baitz explained his approach to that final episode.

“I loved the moral questions at the heart of it,” reveals writer Jon Robin Baitz of the FX limited series “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.” The show chronicles a fallout between Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) and his dearest female friends after he published their scandalous secrets. The ensuing downward spiral of the author is a fascinating tale of betrayal and love. “When you’re a writer and you are using everything around you, which is an unstoppable mechanical event, “says Baitz, “as a writer, do you have an obligation to the people you have relationships with and are using in some way to be responsible to them?” Watch the exclusive video interview above.
Capote’s moral quandary is one that Baitz grapples with these days as he looks back on his career. “I spent many years as a playwright drawing from the experiences I’d had growing up and as...

The Devil’s Bath – the latest genre movie from Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, the directing duo behind the disturbing horror films Goodnight Mommy (the original, not the Naomi Watts remake) and The Lodge – has been acquired by Shudder, with the streaming service planning to release it in North America, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand on June 28th. With that date just a few weeks away, Shudder has released a trailer for the film… and oddly, they chose to release it through the Letterboxd X account first, as you can see below. But it has since made its way to YouTube and is now embedded at the top of this article.

Naomi Watts had a ton of written material and photographs to research her role as legendary New York City socialite Babe Paley for the Ryan Murphy limited Series “Feud: Truman vs. The Swans.” That helped fashion a physical transformation that involved contact lenses, incredible wigs, makeup, and two different sets of false teeth that, it turns out, were an integral part of her character’s temperament. What she couldn’t find were any video or audio of Paley, somewhat remarkable considering her longtime close friend, Truman Capote (played by Tom Hollander), was a fixture in front of any camera or microphone he could find.

Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Playing Challenging Roles. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Nicole Kidman recently opened up about the psychological effects of playing challenging roles. The Hollywood Reporter’s Drama Actress Roundtable recently featured Nicole Kidman, Brie Larson, Anna Sawai, and Naomi Watts. During the discussion, the actresses weighed in on the stress of taking on challenging roles.
During the Hollywood Reporter interview, Oscar winner Nicole Kidman revealed that after a rough day filming Big Little Lies, she threw a rock through a locked door, breaking its window. During the roundtable discussion, Jodie Foster asked Nicole Kidman about the incident.
In response, Nicole Kidman revealed she was so “pissed off” after filming the show that covered domestic violence that she took out her frustration at a locked door with a window. The actress recalled, “I threw a rock because [the door] was locked, and I couldn’t get in. I’d never done that in my life.

On a Sunday afternoon in late April, seven of this year’s Emmy frontrunners convened at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica. There were four Oscars and another 18 Emmy nominations between them, but the web of shared experience went far beyond hardware.
Earlier in their collective careers, at least a few of them starred opposite each other onscreen (Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston among them); one actress (in this case, Naomi Watts) played the mother of another (Brie Larson); and still another actress (Jodie Foster) had graciously stepped in when a second (Kidman) had to bow out of a role. Griselda‘s Sofia Vergara and Aniston share an acting coach, Anna Sawai and Larson share a history in music, and Watts and Kidman share a friendship that dates back 40 years.
It all contributed to an hour of easy, intimate conversation, which covered everything from mentorship to menopause. Their time together...

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot points, including the ending for “Young Woman and the Sea,” currently playing in theaters.
While Joachim Rønning read the script for “Young Woman and the Sea,” he made little notes as he went along. When he reached the end, his first thought was, “This is amazing.” His next thought was: How could he possibly capture what he had just read on screen?
“Young Woman and the Sea” tells the story of Trudy Ederle, played by Daisy Ridley, who in 1926 became the first woman to swim across the English Channel. But a case of measles – which nearly killed her and left her with severe hearing loss, stood in her way, along with sexism. Yet, she overcame the odds. Rønning’s challenge was balancing backstory with motivation, going on the journey with the character, and then being there as she achieves that goal.

Brie Larson knows the highs and lows of working in the superhero world. She made her own superhero debut in the 2019 film Captain Marvel, which earned over $1 billion at the global box office and became one of the top 25 highest grossing films of all time. She played the character again in Avengers: Endgame, which was released just weeks after Captain Marvel and earned almost $3 billion at the box office, briefly becoming the #1 highest grossing film of all time. We saw Larson’s Captain Marvel again in the 2021 hit Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, an episode of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, and last year’s The Marvels… which did not replicate Captain Marvel‘s success, making just over $200 million at the box office and becoming the lowest-grossing film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are a lot of varying opinions about Larson’s performance and attitude, but...

The line-up for the new series of Variety’s Actors On Actors has been revealed, with high profile movie performers interviewing each other.
Variety’s Actors On Actors is one of the most delightful series you can watch as a film fan. The central conceit is that two actors sit down for a natter about their work, often going off on tangents, acting as a unique insight into the industry.
Generally, the pairings are quite surprising, with the actors concerned often never having worked together and, in some cases, seeming quite random, but each one is fascinating and, usually, an absolute hoot. You can see Kate Winslet shooting the breeze with Gary Oldman, for example, or Beanie Feldstein with Florence Pugh – we are still waiting for Jason Statham to make an appearence.

MonsterVerse is currently one of the most significant franchises in pop culture. It kickstarted with 2014’s Godzilla and went on to produce 4 films and 2 TV series. However, there is one film in the franchise that was initially conceived as a different venture, Kong: Skull Island.
The 2017 film was initially planned as a sequel to 2005’s King Kong. After the critical and commercial success of Peter Jackson’s King Kong remake, he thought of making a sequel. Co-incidentally, the director of the last two MonsterVerse films, Adam Wingard, was slated to direct it.

“I don’t know if anybody told you, but none of us knows what we’re doing,” announces two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster halfway through the Drama Actress Emmy Roundtable. She’s surrounded by two more Oscar winners — Expats’ Nicole Kidman and Lessons in Chemistry’s Brie Larson — who nod in agreement. “I wanted it to be alive more than anything, and there to be a sense of real delight and weirdness,” reveals “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” composer Julia Newman about her score for the FX limited series. For our recent webchat she adds, “What I love so much about this show is that there’s no good guys, but we empathize at different moments with all of the characters. Everyone inhabits a real humanness and in inhabiting that humanness, of course, everybody is flawed. I loved the idea of Truman Capote always listening, always with the typewriter going on, as everybody was always scheming. It’s actually part of what makes the story so powerful. As shallow as human beings can get and as deep as human beings can get, what does it mean to be on your deathbed and to regret a friendship lost? That’s so profound. So,...

A certified movie star; Tom Holland is immensely popular for his portrayal of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, when he is not busy being a superhero, he is busy being a hardworking, dedicated, and infectious charmer. FX/Hulu’s Feud: Capote vs. the Swans depicts the infamous rift between writer Truman Capote and his “swans” — a handpicked collection of Manhattan socialites who ice out Capote from New York society after he publishes a short story loosely based on Babe Paley and her husband’s various infidelities. In this scene from the pilot, written by Jon Robin Baitz, the audience is treated to a meet-cute of sorts between Truman (Tom Hollander) and Babe (Naomi Watts) years before their clash that offers an idea of the deep connection between the two players.
Truman Capote is an American pop culture icon, recognizable to literary fans even today. Getting his voice and mannerisms on the page was important — and Baitz says that Hollander stuck to the script, avoiding any ad-libbing in character as Truman. “His respect for the word is based on his love of playwrights, of trying to figure...

“It was fun to pivot,” shares Lou Eyrich about the change of milieu from the first to second installments of FX’s anthology series “Feud.” She was the costume designer on the first season “Bette and Joan” back in 2017, and though she now mostly collaborates with Ryan Murphy as a producer, she seized on the opportunity to return as costumer for “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.” The designer describes the difference between the two sets of episodes as “going from a Hollywood movie perspective to this elite group of socialite jet-setters in New York, Manhattan, at the time, and they were the original influencers.” Gold Derby spoke with Eyrich as part of our “Meet the Experts” TV costume design panel. Last Thursday, FX confirmed that its adaptation of James Clavell’s “Shōgun” will continue past its first season and thus compete as a drama series rather than a limited one at the upcoming Emmys. Since it had spent the preceding three weeks as Gold Derby’s predicted Best Limited Series winner and was expected to reap several acting nominations, every drama and limited race was shaken up by its reclassification – and the dust still has not settled.
Within 48 hours of the “Shōgun” shift, our 2,500+ Emmy predictors came to the consensus that it will be nominated for Best Drama Series and all of the corresponding main acting awards. Even lead actor Cosmo Jarvis and supporting actress Moeka Hoshi, who never quite managed to reach predicted nominee status before, quickly broke into our forecasted drama lineups. There are horror movies that don’t dive straight into the most frightening parts with all those jumpscares, loud sounds and rivers of blood. On the contrary, they set a chilling atmosphere of danger coming to swallow the characters and create a never-ending sense of unease quite slowly through perfectly developing suspense.
Here are 7 slow-burn horror must-watches, handpicked by Reddit.
The Wicker Man (1973)
First comes the cultish genre’s staple that follows a Christian detective during the investigation of the disappearance of a pagan tribe’s girl. It creates a very unsettling and even paranoidal atmosphere by blending mythical elements with onscreen reality.
Funny Games (2007)
Naomi Watts and Tim Roth’s psychological horror is a perfect example of a movie that takes time for the full extent of the terror to be revealed on screen. It focuses on a couple who get captured and tormented by two young criminals on their vacation.

In 2014, Naomi Watts voiced an animated version of herself in the “BoJack Horseman” episode “One Trick Pony.” The Watts in Hollywoo — the “BoJack” stand-in for the entertainment industry’s epicenter, inhabited mostly by anthropomorphic animals — is starring opposite BoJack in a biopic about his frenemy, Mr. Peanutbutter. She appears on set preparing to play Diane, a burgeoning writer. The meta joke is the actress accepted the part to get a break from emotionally draining, praiseworthy performances.
“I just keep getting pigeonholed as these complex characters in highly acclaimed movies,” the animated Watts bemoans to a character who is a parody of host Ryan Seacrest (A Ryan Seacrest Type). “For once, I would just love to phone it in and play a two-dimensional girl in a rom-com with no inner life of her own. That’s kind of the reason I got into this business.”
Ten years later, that tongue-in-cheek guest appearance now feels almost prophetic.

The DVD of David Lynch's 2001 mystery "Mulholland Drive" came with a mystery of its own. Those who know David Lynch know that he loathes talking about his movies, and staunchly refuses to answer bothersome questions about their meaning. This is the man who famously declared his 1977 classic "Eraserhead" to be his most spiritual film. When asked to elucidate, Lynch simply said "No." For Lynch, all the answers are up on the screen. Any commentary is not only redundant but distracting; why watch a movie looking for an interpretation when one can simply experience it raw? This is why Lynch has never provided a commentary track for any of his movies, and why he hates chapter stops on DVDs and Blu-rays. Sit in a dark room, he says, and let the film enter your mind unadulterated.
This is why the paper insert in the 2002 "Mulholland Drive" release is so baffling.

There are many horror films, thrillers, and disaster movies that try to capture the worst moments in the lives of fictional characters and touch the hearts of viewers through their suffering.
Some do it better than others, but to this day, no movie can compete with the horrors that surround us in real life.
Sometimes, though, cinematography meets the stories of real people, and that's when the real magic happens. The most realistic disaster movie, filmed in 2012, is now available for everyone to watch on Netflix. But it won't be for long.
Is The Impossible a Good Movie?
In 2004, the Indian Ocean was hit by a tsunami that wreaked havoc in several countries at once. Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and many other countries were affected by the disaster, which took the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and went down in history as one of the world's deadliest disasters.

“Emmanuelle,” a new feature from French writer-director Audrey Diwan, will world premiere in competition as the opening film for the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival, which kicks off on September 20.
Inspired by the eponymous erotic novel by Emmanuelle Arsan, the film tells the story of a woman looking for a lost pleasure. During a business trip to Hong Kong, she meets several new people, including a man named Kei, who constantly eludes her. According to the director, the story was conceived as an exploration of pleasure in the post #MeToo era.
Diwan, a Venice Golden Lion winner for her 2021 film “Happening,” co-wrote “Emmanuelle” with fellow filmmaker Rebecca Zlotowski, whose 2013 feature “Grand Central” screened in competition at Cannes and won the François Chalais Award.
Chantelouve, Rectangle Productions and Goodfellas (formerly Wild Bunch) produce. “Emmanuelle” will be distributed by Pathé in France, where it will debut on September 25, and Beta Fiction in Spain.
