T.O. Bobe
- Writer
Founding member of the literary circles Litere (1993-1995) and Central
(1992-1993) and of the students' magazine Litere. After obtaining his
B.A. degree in Romanian and Latin at Bucharest University in 1995, he
worked as a literary secretary for theater. Between 1996 and 2001 we
worked as a writer for ProTV and MediaVision, starting with the first
and famous morning show of ProTV: "Ora 7, buna dimineata" (It's 7
o'clock, good morning!"). The show's impact on the TV audience was
huge, boosting the popularity of the host, Florin Calinescu, due to the
quiz-show segment testing audience fidelity for ProTV's programs by
funny and intelligent questions inspired by the programs of the day
before. The audience awareness campaign continued later on with the
weekend show "Te uiti si cistigi" ("Watch and win"). The following
years, ProTV launched several quiz and game shows, which proved
immensely popular: "Stii si cistigi" ("Know and win"), "Risti si
cistigi" ("Jeopardy"), "Pretul corect" ("Price is right"), "Roata
norocului" ("Wheel of Fortune"), and even a soccer-inspired show,
called "Sut si cistigi" ("Kick and win"). He was the main writer of all
of them, sometimes also an assistant producer. He was also involved in
all ProTV's anniversary shows, on Dec 1st and on all other events
produced by MediaVision and ProTV. Between 1999 and 2001 he was one of
the regular screenwriters of Scenario, the script development company
of MediaProPictures. Here, he wrote several scripts for "Ministerul
comediei", the company's largest and most difficult show (comedy live,
2 to 3.5 hours on Sundays). Between 2002 and 2003 he became one of the
regular writers of the series "In familie" broadcast by PrimaTV. Since
then, he has been mainly working on his own projects, which brought him
several literary fellowships in Germany and Romania. In 2001 he won a
Eureka Trans Europe Script Prize with Ana-Valentina Florescu, for their
scripts "Getting together" and "Morgan ReCollection". In 1999, his
poetry book "Bucla" won the Debut Prize of Univers Publishing House and
the National Prize for Poetry Debut.
