Back at the beginning of July in the daily Briefs, I started the Official snicks Top 100 Lost Hits of The 80's, spotlighting the 100 greatest minor hits of that decade. The songs you don't hear on any 80's nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty ... or top forty, and over the last five months I hope some of these forgotten gems may have rung a long dormant bell, or for younger readers, provided a pop music history lesson.
Here is the complete list, including my favorite lost song of the decade. Thank you for taking this 80's road trip with me ... but it's not over yet! I'll be featuring a new Lost Hit once a week in the Wednesday Briefs, so the history lesson will continue!
Let the countdown commence, and remember ... keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars!

Scissor Sisters have announced an indefinite hiatus from music. The 'Fire with Fire' group confirmed at their gig at Camden's Roundhouse in London last night (October 24) that they currently have no plans to work together again. The band played a second of two nights at the venue, putting on an extended gig to thank their fans, before making the announcement towards the end of the show. Jake Shears told the crowd: "This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time." Pierre Morel is doing everything he can to make himself the top, go-to name in action directing. After turning heads with District B13, Morel practically blew up (and helped redefine Liam Neeson) with the global smash Taken. He transitioned to the decent but lukewarmly-received From Paris With Love, but Morel was still figuring out his signature. Expect him to continue exploring the action mode with is next announced picture, The Hitman.s Bodyguard. THR says the film, penned by Tom O.Connor (Fire With Fire), follows a guardian assigned to protect a hitman who is trying to reach a courthouse so that he can testify against a vicious European war criminal. As you can probably guess, the guardian and the hitman will encounter all sorts of troubles on their way to the judge. The trade says that the action takes place in the Netherlands, as the hitman and his protector...

Pierre Morel took a little break, letting Taken 2 land with Olivier Megaton, so it’s high time the better-than-you-realize French action helmer got back to dealing out ass-kicks. THR say this appears to be happening with The Hitman’s Bodyguard, a (oh, you know the genre) picture set up with Skydance Productions — which means it’s probably going to Paramount — that’s expected to be his next outing. (Bastille Day, despite being reported on only four months ago, is no longer happening.)
Tom O’Connor (Fire with Fire) has written a “two-hander” (stupid term) following “a protection agent who is forced to escort to the Hague a hitman awaiting his chance to testify against a war criminal and ex-head of state of an Eastern European country.” Boy, that sounds a whole lot like Safe House. And I don’t want Safe House.

Scissor Sisters don’t make beer but if they did it would be the most hallucination-inducingly camp beer in world. Warning: may cause drinker to see candy coloured rabbits and dancing nuns…
Ah the shy, demure, wallflower world of the Scissor Sisters. If you were to compare them to a member of your family they would be your retiring Grandparents wouldn’t they? I can see them sat in their tourbus knitting little knick-knacks for the younger members of the family, sipping tea from Royal Daulton cup and saucer sets passed down from their own grandmothers, occasionally glancing through the blinds and sighing at what the world used to be like. Jake Shears complete with cane and bifocals would complain to Granny Ana Matronic about the new host on Cash in the Attic whilst she turns her hearing aid down and fetches some malt loaf from the cupboard. Suburgatory 1.18 "Down Time" Review
One of the hallmarks of earlier episodes of Suburgatory is a certain type of comedic aggression that either raised the bar or brought things to a crashing halt. When the show could channel that energy and readiness to do anything for a laugh, it made the corresponding absolutely pop and easily differentiated it from other comedies of its ilk. However, when it didn't quite balance the ambition with the execution, it turned episodes too loud and too in-your-face; you had to admire their willingness to turn the volume up to 11, but there's a line between being quirky fun and garish for the sake of being garish. It's only in the last six to eight episodes that Suburgatory has learned to control its id, with "Down Time" notable for its reliance on reactionary storytelling.

Suburgatory 1.15 "Fire with Fire" Review
When you think about it, the characters on Suburgatory have it pretty good, all things considered. I mean, they live in a beautiful, safe neighborhood where their biggest worries are following the latest trend and when to schedule the next barbecue. It's not exactly an area of hopelessness and desolation, so I can understand turning inward and looking at your own situation to A) try and better it and B) occupy your time. The grass in the manicured lawn next door can look a lot greener in certain situations and it's only human to wonder about the effect that drastic change in your life can have on your self-esteem.

Earlier this year, your friendly editors at Movieline wondered whether the cast of The Big Bang (with Snoop Dogg, Antonio Banderas, Sam Elliott, James Van Der Beek and Autumn Reeser) was more random than the cast of the animated film Dorothy of Oz (Lea Michele, Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Dan Aykroyd, Hugh Dancy, Oliver Platt, Megan Hilty and Martin Short). Well, it looks like the cast of Fire With Fire trumps them both. Put together.

Back in November we heard that Bruce Willis would team-up with 50 Cent for a thriller called Set Up. Well the trailer recently came out, but it just looked so awful that we decided not to post it. Now Variety reports that for some reason, the two will team-up again for an indie drama called Fire with Fire. The story follows a fireman in the witness protection program. When he's threatened by the man he plans to testify against, he takes matters into his own hands to save the love of his life. In addition, Transformers franchise star Josh Duhamel is starring in the film from director David Barrett and writer Tom Conner. Apparently Bruce Willis had such a great time working with 50 Cent on "Setup," that will likely go straight to DVD, that he has now re-teamed with the rapper for another film, an indie drama "Fire With Fire." Josh Duhamel (Transformers) is co-starring. The new film centers on a fireman in the witness protection program. When he's threatened by the man he plans to testify against, he takes matters into his own hands to save the love of his life. The plan is to begin filming on June 27th. "Fire With Fire" is part of a 10-picture deal announced last fall that is backed by a $200 million fund. Films under that deal include "Setup," police drama "Freelancers," and gambling drama "Lay the Favorite" which Willis is once again attached to.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is not the world’s greatest actor. When you can't make a convincing stab at playing a character based on you, it might be time to start re-evaluating your career choices. Still, that doesn’t stop him getting work, and he’s teaming up with Bruce Willis and Josh Duhamel for vigilante thriller Fire With Fire.Actually, that should be Jackson’s re-uniting with Willis, since the pair just worked together on heist drama Setup. The criminal theme continues in Fire, which finds a fireman (no idea which of the three will play that role, but we guess Duhamel) who has to enter the witness protection programme when he’s able to testify against a violent criminal.Trouble is, the wrongdoer tracks him down and threatens both the heroic fire-stopper and the love of his life. So our hero takes matters into his worn hands and tries to save his lady.

Here's a new Hollywood game for you: take a bunch of actors, put all their names in a hat and randomly draw three of them to decide on the cast of your next movie. Sure, it might sound crazy, but just think of the awesome combinations you could end up with that no actual casting director would probably ever think of.
Like, for instance, Bruce Willis and 50 Cent.
Well, pass the hat, because that dream team has just become reality, as Variety is reporting that Willis and 50 Cent will be appearing alongside Josh Duhamel in the upcoming action flick "Fire With Fire." Pretty awesome.
As offbeat as the pairing of Willis and 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) seems, "Fire With Fire" is actually the second movie the duo will appear in together, as they've already finished principal photography on the upcoming thriller "Setup." Still, "Fire With Fire" stands to be a...

50 Cent continues to churn through the cash in the 10-picture, $200 million deal between his Cheetah Vision banner and Hedge Fund Film Partners. He's already got the unintentionally hilarious football drama "Things Fall Apart" and the unintentionally hilarious heist movie "Set Up" in the can (sensing a theme here?). Anyhow, the rapper/actor seems to have found a kindred spirit in Bruce Willis who will apparently do anything for money and will star, once again, with 50 Cent in another sure to be terrible movie. Variety reports that Fiddy, John McClane and Josh Duhamel will star in "Fire With Fire,"…...

Greetings New Music Mix Readers. You may have noticed I took a brief hiatus from my bi-weekly roundups. Well this past month I participated in a show on MTV that will be airing this summer. Check back on AfterElton.com once it airs as I’ll be recapping my experience and filling you all in on the inside gossip.
On February 28th, I had the chance to catch Lady Gaga and Scissor Sisters in Chicago at the United Center on Gaga’s second North American leg of her Monster Ball Tour. I must say that if you have the chance to go see her perform, take it. She is undoubtedly one of the best entertainers of our time.
While this was my second time catching a Lady Gaga performance it was my first Scissor Sisters one. In the last year I’ve become an ever-increasing fan of the sexiness that...

Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears has stated that he is "proud" of being a role model for gay fans. The 'Fire With Fire' singer told Bang Showbiz that he empathises with teenagers who are struggling to come to terms with their sexuality and often draws on his own experiences to help them. "I'm proud to be that. I know what it's like to be a teenager, and what it's like to come out, and the difficulties of it all. And how it feels to be in school and be bullied," he said. "If I'm the go-to for new gays, and if I can be someone that gay teenagers can look at as someone who's happy and who has made a good life for himself, then that's great. I had people like that for me when I was growing up, and it was very important." He added: "My advice...

Scissor Sisters have debuted a music video in support of "Invisible Light", the third single from their third studio album "Night Work". This newly-debuted clip is a Nsfw one, featuring a lot of images that contain nudities and violences.
In recent interview, the band said they regretted releasing "Fire With Fire" as the first single and thought "Invisible Light" was supposed to be the first. "That's the heartbreak about it - it's something I always follow, always going with my instincts," Jake Shears said. "Because, if you put something out when you're following your instincts and it fails, it's all on you. 'Invisible Light' should have been the first single."
This band will join Lady GaGa on seven additional dates on the early 2011 run of her Monster Ball World Tour. They will now open on a total of 24 dates, beginning with the February 19 show at Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City,...

The Scissor Sisters have revealed that they regret releasing the song 'Fire With Fire' as a single. The group, who put out the track to trailer their third studio album Night Work, admitted that they made the wrong decision to release the song - which peaked on the UK singles chart at number 11. Discussing their latest record, frontman Jake Shears told X Magazine: "Yeah, it was a slow burn. I think 'Fire With Fire' wasn't the right single to release first. That's the heartbreak about it - it's something I always follow, always going with my instincts. "Because, if you put something out when (more)...

Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears has shared his disbelief about attracting many female groupies. The openly gay 'Fire With Fire' singer revealed that his sexuality hasn't stopped girls throwing themselves at him while on tour with the band. "Oh my god, I get more female groupies than I do male!" he told Q magazine. "In Japan the girls go apes**t for me. I don't know what's up but they love some Jake Shears. People have been lining up to hook up with Lady GaGa, and Scissor Sisters are one of the lucky acts who will hit the studio with the 24-year-old pop/dance singer. The group's lead singer Jake Shears talked to GaGa about a possible duet when they met at Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball earlier this year.
"Jake has performed with huge stars like Kylie [Minogue]. He is desperate for the union with Lady GaGa to go ahead," a source told Britain's Mail on Sunday. "He was concerned Lady GaGa might decide against it but he has been reassured that the collaboration will happen in some way, shape or form."
While waiting for the duet between Scissor Sisters and Lady GaGa to arrive for listening pleasure, fans can purchase Scissor Sisters' third studio album "Night Work" which has been in stores since June. Led by single "Fire With Fire...

Scissor Sisters are playing with bright colors and hip-shaking moves in a newly-released music video supporting their single "Any Which Way". Some scenes even feature naked Jake Shears and some nude girls hiding their body behind a table lamp and other home props.
"Any Which Way" is the second single from the band's third studio album "Night Work". The music video is directed by Ace Norton (Norah Jones, Death Cab for Cutie) and was shot over two days in London, England.
Released in June this year, "Night Work" is led by single "Fire With Fire" and becomes Scissor Sisters' first album since parting ways with Paddy Boom in 2008. The split was cited as an amicable one. "He will always be our sister," they said back then.

That's Hilarious! No Way! It's Offensive! Well, Actually It's Complicated
Everyone knows that two of the trickiest subjects to talk about in mixed company are religion and politics. But when it comes to what we obsess about cover on AfterElton.com, I'd actually say comedy might be one of the toughest to discuss (that and whether or not there should be a U.S. version of Torchwood).
All you have to do to see that is look at the comments on our last post about Family Guy which generated very heated discussion. That same issue came up twice this week, first with a discussion of gay male sexuality and the use of the word "faggot" on the new FX series Louie, and then again on an episode of The Boondocks that joked about prison rape.

Katy Perry has rocketed to the top of the UK singles chart with 'California Gurls'. The track - which features an appearance from rapper Snoop Dogg - also leads the Us, Australian and Irish singles chart this week. It becomes her second single to reach No.1 in the UK after 2008's 'I Kissed A Girl'. K'Naan's 'Wavin' Flag' holds steady at two, while last week's chart-topper, 'Shout' by Shout For England, slips to three. Meanwhile, Eminem places two singles in this week's top ten: 'Not Afraid' at five and 'Love The Way You Lie', featuring Rihanna, at seven. Lady GaGa's 'Alejandro' continues its climb up the chart, advancing from ten to eight. Outside of the top ten, Scissor Sisters debut at eleven with 'Fire With Fire' to notch (more)...

Scissor Sisters are winning fans one at a time in their new video for “Fire with Fire,” the debut single from “Night Work,” the group’s first albums since 2006’s “Ta-Dah.” The mid-tempo, piano-based tune is one of those tracks that doesn’t seem that infectious at first, especially compared to the band’s earlier work, but then it embeds itself in your brain. If their new label, Downtown, plays it right, it could become a summer sleeper anthem. Though the band recorded most of the album in London, the co-ed outfit takes to the New York City streets on the back of a...

No Gay. Lesbian Joke. No Gay. Gay Joke. No Gay. Ooh, Look An Actual Gay!
This week the major networks announced their fall line-ups and mid-season replacements, and overall the news wasn't great for gay characters. Ugly Betty had already been deep-sixed on ABC, and as expected, NBC axed Trauma with gay paramedic Tyler and Mercy with gay nurse Angel, while the CW dropped Melrose Place, not that what's his face got much screentime anyway. Also not unexpectedly, ABC isn't bringing back the hilarious Better Off Ted which had two out actors Jonathan Slavin and Portia de Rossi, and which was usually gay-friendly.
Of the pilots that weren't picked up, the two biggest disappointments were ABC passing on the Cheyenne Jackson/Christopher Sieber sitcom It Takes a Village and CBS not going for the drama The Quinn-tuplets, both of which featured significant gay content.
So what did the networks go for of gay interest?...

Do you know what it feels like in this world, for a boy?
Bonjour, kidlets! Welcome to my spankin’ new column The Teeth. The captain at the helm is none other than Shannon Loughnane. The name shouldn’t currently be synonymous with much aside from a killer impersonation of Lois from Family Guy, and a penchant for starting dinner table skirmishes over the problems with 90210. Starting with the fact that none of them look like high school students.
90210 problems aside, I hope my name does becomee synonymous with a weekly fix of joy (and ah… joyness?) for you, oh beloved AfterElton readers.
So to the particulars: I am 20 years of age. I am Australian. This means A) I have been legally permitted to drink for two years but also B) I have been long-starved of a huge piece of the pop-cultural pie known as North America. However, I am New York-bound!
