In 2018, when Kana Akatsuki’s light novel series, Violet Evergarden, finally released its anime adaptation, fans were happy to finally find a new story that shows a new side of the coming-of-age genre through the life of Violet Evergarden, an ex-army soldier who later becomes an auto memories doll to write letters for other people.
Violet Evergarden: The Movie | Kyoto Animation
But the story took a new turn when a sequel movie, Violet Evergarden: The Movie, was released in 2020. The plot of the movie finally brought Violet Evergarden and her former Major Gilbert Bougainvillea together and focused on the romance element between the two characters, which was a nice surprise for fans.
However, Taichi Ishidate, the director of Violet Evergarden and Violet Evergarden: The Movie, did not want to make a sequel film because of the same romantic element, and he had some pretty valid reasons for it.

Both Dr. Finn Hamilton (Michael Easton) and Harrison Chase will have a hard time dealing with the loss of their dad, even though they knew this was coming. General Hospital Spoilers reveal that Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) just happened to be the person who found Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) dead.
Finn had hoped that his father’s diagnosis was wrong and that they would have more time to make up for the past. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. Can Finn forgive himself for all of the time they lost?
General Hospital Spoilers – Hamilton Finn Falls Off The Wagon
General Hospital Spoilers indicate that the first thing Finn did was grab a drink while waiting on someone to pick up Gregory’s body.
Of course, Finn’s addiction was pain pills years ago but it seems that a drink will do just as good when it comes to drowning his sorrows. After all he couldn’t exactly go buy drugs while waiting for the coroner

General Hospital spoilers report that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has officially lost his cool. Going off on Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and beating him the way he did at such a public event. If he thought his friends were turning against him before, he’s in for a rude awakening.
One by one, everyone he loves may express some concern about him, but they’re also going to take note of his brutal beatdown and the way he viciously went after Dex — who was just minding his own business.
Dex was a guest at the wedding just like any other, and this may stir the pot between Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) as they come to have different opinions about how to handle the situation once it’s already passed.
Isolated from everyone who truly cares about him, Sonny will likely turn to Ava Jerome (Maura West) for support — again.

General Hospital viewers are concerned about Gregory (Gregory Harrison).
He has been declining for weeks, and after a scary incident while he was watching Violet (Jophielle Love), it seemed his days were numbered.
Gregory’s final bucket list item was making it to Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) wedding. He had an incident while performing the service but worked through it with Tracy (Jane Elliot) by his side.
During the most recent Gh episode, something sparked fans’ concerns that it was curtains for Gregory.
After having a heart-to-heart with Finn (Michael Easton), Gregory retired to bed. That’s when things got worrisome.
As he lay in bed, memories of his life flashed before his eyes. It was a montage filled with photos and scenes from General Hospital, and it seemed like a final goodbye.

Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is one manga fans have been following for a long time now. There are many different shonen works that take on the slice-of-life tropes on the side. Spy x Family, The Way of the Househusband, and many other anime and manga follow such patterns to add a mix of different genres in an otherwise already explored trope.
Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days does the same. It takes a retired hitman wanting to live a normal life and pulls him back into a world filled with action. Needless to say, there were many fans following the manga and more who were awaiting a possible anime adaptation. By the looks of it, the wait may not be for long. However, that is not to say that everything might be going smoothly.

Law & Order: Svu’s Tamara Tunie Takes Us Inside Her Moving Organized Crime Reunion With Chris Meloni
Medical examiner Melinda Warner was only on screen for a few minutes of Thursday’s Law & Order: Organized Crime, but the short scene carried a lot of meaning for longtime Svu fans.
Not only was Tamara Tunie’s return the first time we’ve seen onetime Svu series regular Warner since Svu‘s 500th episode, it marked a quiet moment of… dare we say friendship between the coroner and the ever-more-reflective cop? The scene also allowed Tunie and series lead Chris Meloni, who are friends in real life, a chance to mix it up in the morgue once more.

In an effort to defend trans rights in the United States, the U.K., and Canada, dozens of artists have recorded cover songs for a new compilation that will raise money for organizations in those countries. Joanna Sternberg recorded Caroline Rose’s “Everywhere I Go I Bring the Rain,” Rostam interpreted Lucinda Williams’ “Change the Locks,” Wednesday took on Elliott Smith’s “Christian Brothers,” and Model/Actriz perform the Ting Tings’ “That’s Not My Name” on the 44-track Fader + Friends Vol. 1 compilation available on Bandcamp for one month, starting today.

Fader has released Fader & Friends Vol. 1, a real star-studded covers compilation benefitting charities fighting for transgender rights.
There’s a whole lot in these 44 tracks, but here are just a few notable highlights: CoSign alums Wednesday recorded their rendition of Elliott Smith’s “Christian Brothers,” Rostam covered Lucinda Williams’ “Change the Locks,” Ratboys did The Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” and NNAMDÏ did The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.”
While most of the performers on the compilation — including Caroline Rose and Joanna Stenberg, who covered each other — are relative newcomers, the crop of songs constitute a vast timeline. There are covers of Big Thief, Perfume Genius, and Ethel Cain mixed together with songs by Stevie Wonder, Abba, Tina Turner, and Selena. There’s even an old English folk song (courtesy of Helena Deland).

Alone at dusk in his Brussels apartment, Stefan, a gentle Romanian construction worker, speaks a few words as if to try them on for size. “This is my home,” he says, unconvinced and unconvincing. In Stefan Gota’s subdued and graceful performance, the character’s forlorn ache is unspecified and fully felt. There are sleepless nights, long walks, bowls of homemade soup and heartfelt conversations, rich in silence, with people he knows and others he’s just met. And there’s the visual conversation that frames Stefan’s story, the interplay of windblown greenery and the sharp angles of urban high-rises.

The Last Days of Disco. Barely a few minutes into Whit Stillman’s The Last Days of Disco (1998), a young Manhattanite refers to the city’s bustling nightclub scene as a full-blown movement—partying is not a lifestyle nor a hobby, but a kind of mission. His name is Josh (Matt Keeslar), a recent graduate who still cringes at the “social wasteland” of his college years, and evidently thought clubs would fix that overnight. “What I found so encouraging,” he tells a pal, “was the idea that when the time came to have a social life, there’d be all these places where people could go to.” Except the right places are impossible to get into. Ironically, the disco enthusiast has never actually stepped foot inside a disco, and as he sneaks his way into one of New York’s most iconic, he marvels at the neon-lit world as if...

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has only been officially available for about five days. However, early sales reports for the game are slowly coming in, and they tell a story that the rest of the industry should be paying attention to.
At present, Tears of the Kingdom‘s sales are setting a record pace. In France, Tears of the Kingdom sold around 500,000 physical copies during its first weekend. For comparison’s sake, FIFA 23 was the best-selling game in France in 2023, and that game sold 420,000 physical units during its first week. It was also available on significantly more platforms. A representative from retailer Fnac described Tears of the Kingdom‘s early figures as “historic.”

Lena Headey is giving insight into her state of mind once “Game of Thrones” concluded.
The actress, who played Cersei Lannister across eight seasons of the Emmy-winning HBO series, told People magazine that she was bracing for her career to feel “harder” after the show concluded in May 2019.
“‘Thrones’ was such a surprise,” Headey said. “But there was no part of me that went, ‘Oh, it’s done now. Life’s going to be easy.’ It opened doors, it made certain things easier. It also made things feel harder because you think, ‘What do I do?'”
Headey added that she tries to keep her “Game of Thrones” fame separate from her personal life, saying, “If someone says, ‘Oh, you’re in “Game of Thrones,”‘ my youngest [child] now says things like, ‘What is “Game of Thrones”?’ In fact, the other day she went, ‘My mommy is in…’ And I was like,...

The future of “Pokémon” is almost here, and it no longer involves Ash Ketchum, the beloved, forever 10-year-old trainer who has been on screen for 25 years.

Exclusive: Cinema Guild has acquired North American rights for Belgian director Bas Devos’s film Here which won best film in the Berlin Film Festival’s Encounters section last month as well as the Fipresci prize.
The film revolves around a Romanian construction worker living in Brussels who is making preparations ahead of his return home to visit his mother for the holidays, not knowing if he will come back to the city.
While waiting for his car to be fixed, he meets a Belgian-Chinese woman bryologist, or expert in the study of moss and lichen, who is preparing her doctorate while working in her aunt’s restaurant. Her attention to the near-invisible stops him in his tracks.
Like Devos’s previous 2019 film Ghost Tropic, Brussels is inherent to the storyline as the director explores ideas of longing in contemporary urban life and the potential for enchantment that still exists...

If clickbait were an episode, this would have been it!
After that promo, we expected some significant developments about Gallo and Violet on Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 15, but the moment passed without any fanfare.
The rest of the hour was packed with some emotional storylines, a potential new relationship, and Kylie versus the house.
But first, we have to address the Gallo and Violet of it all.
Their development has been so painful it hurt people close to them seeing how blind they were to the reality around them. And who had been on the receiving end? Ritter.
The constant will they, won't they has gotten tiring to watch at this point. It appears childish that two grown people cannot admit their feelings for each other and must act like middle schoolers.
They'd rather date a million and one people than be courageous enough to take a leap of faith and go out.

The Pitch: Full disclosure, I don't like "Shrek." The original 2001 film just never did it for me. Maybe it was the animation, maybe it was the aggressively anti-Disney overtones, maybe both. Eventually, DreamWorks won me over with "Shrek 2," which can only be described as a masterpiece, but that's not the second chance I want to talk about right now. We're here for "Shrek the Musical," a stage production that has no right being as good as it is, and how it got me invested in a smelly ogre's origin. Chicago Fire has been a staple of NBC’s primetime lineup for over a decade. As part of the network’s Chicago franchise, the show has occasionally riled fans with its provocative storytelling. But Chicago Fire has taken a different kind of heat for a recent season 11 storyline. Here’s why the NBC hit sparked a debate over a plotline involving baby boxes and why the topic was even timelier than the show’s producers could’ve planned.

Chicago Fire Season 11 episode 10, “Something for the Pain,” aired on Jan. 4, 2023. And in this episode, paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) opens a temperature-controlled device. She explains it’s “a place for people to safely and anonymously drop their newborns under the state Safe Haven statute.

Exclusive: Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix franchise), Isabelle Fuhrman (The Novice) and Liana Liberato (To the Bone) have signed on to star in Justine Bateman’s upcoming feature Face, based on her 2021 bestseller, Face: One Square Foot of Skin.
The film penned by Bateman consists of 14 vignettes, both comedic and dramatic, which look at women’s faces getting older, and why that makes people angry. While much of society appears to assume that women’s faces are somehow broken and need to be fixed, Face reveals some of the many ways in which women, and those around them, allow this idea to take root at all.
Parker will play Tanya, an actress balancing her need to use her face for her job and the pressure to not move it at all, with Moss as Mrs. Foster, a kindergarten teacher whose young students remind her of the magical functionality of the face.

The most important aspect of any open world game is its map. If you can’t make a game a joy to explore, what’s the point of making it so big in the first place? It’s a challenge Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will have to face in the fall.

Gathered here at Wembley Stadium are some of Hawkins’s closest friends – the surviving Foos members, of course – family, collaborators and admirers, for a six-hour marathon of a show. Understandably, the mood that fills the 80,000-capacity venue is a strange one. Hawkins’s favourite songs are played ahead of the late-afternoon start time – Abba, Elo, George Michael – but no one feels like dancing just yet.
Foos frontman Dave Grohl arrives on stage with the band to a deafening roar; it’s a few minutes before the cheering stops and...
