CHEER! - (8 stars out of 10)
The stage curtains open ...
"Homecoming - Season 1, Episode 9: Work" is perhaps the most thought provoking episode so far. There is quite a bit that's wrapped up here, some questions answered, and some closure as well. With the sting of the moment of sudden realization still ebbing from the last episode, I wasn't sure what they would do next. I like the direction we were taken.
We wrap up a few storylines here. Carrasco with his boss (and his job) gets closure. A somber moment with one of the customers at the fish restaurant where Heidi works plays out. We see what happened to cause Heidi to lose her memory, and it was not at all what I was thinking it was going to be. In fact, it was better.
Heidi and her Mom square things up as well. Colin returns home weighed down with a heavy conscience, but at his wife's urging, he "put it in the box" ... now it's gone, and they can move on with their life and never think about it again. If only things were that easy and carefree. And we have a poignant moment, a memorable one, between Heidi and Walter over a shared meal.
I loved this episode as well ... a bit tamer than the previous ones, but very good nonetheless. 8 stars out of 10. Heading into the final episode, there is only really one thing I can think of that we haven't gotten closure on, and I am curious to see if I'm right. Final episode ... here I come!
