Canadian actor Matthew Bennett was already an adult when he decided to pursue an acting career. He made his screen debut in 1991, appearing as Henry in two episodes of Street Justice, an action-adventure starring Carl Weathers alongside Bryan Genesse and Charlene Fernetz. The years that followed saw him appear in dozens of productions, but he had no regular feature until 1999; when he portrayed James Calley in at least 22 episodes of Total Recall 2070, a sci-fi mystery series created by Philip K. Dick and Art Monterastelli. Thereafter, he landed his Cold Squad role which popularized his name in...

Big Bang Theory is getting a new Howard Wolowitz family member, Josh played by Nickelodeon’s Matt Bennett. He will play the lookalike younger, half brother to Simon Helberg’s Howard. He will bring up some un-addressed issues that Howard never dealt with thanks to their shared father. His character will make his debut on “The Fortification Implementation” that will air on April 9th. Matt has not addressed the news yet, but we can only assume that he is excited to join the huge show.
I am pleased with them picking Matt Bennett, as he seems to sort of fit a semi-family appearance. I am sure they will write in some sort of trouble making scheme into the show to keep it interesting. This will be a test to see if they can write in new, crazy character as well as for Matt to see if he can make it in prime time TV.

Welcoming a new baby is usually a blissful time, but for Francine and David Wheeler - who lost their beloved son Benjamin in the horrific Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting - becoming parents again is bittersweet. On Nov. 5, the Wheelers's lives brightened when they became parents to a new baby boy - Matthew Bennett Wheeler. "Having Matthew has been a remarkable experience," David Wheeler, 53, wrote in an email to People. (His wife, Francine, became a mother again at 47). "We never imagined we'd be back here again, but nothing has ever felt more right, for Francine or our son Nate or I.

After last week’s grisly, creepy murder scene, we open the morning after on “Orphan Black,” as the poor cleanup crew scrub away Daniel’s (Matthew Bennett) guts spewed all over Rachel’s (Tatiana Maslany) apartment. She has a quick, and rather tender, moment with his body before it’s taken away. Sarah takes Helena back to Felix’s (Jordan Gavaris) apartment after escaping Rachel’s. Obviously Felix is unnerved about having a psychopath in his home, (especially after she hilariously hisses at him and he jumps). Sarah then explains to her that he is Sarah’s brother and therefore, one of their “seetras,” and she immediately [...]

Sarah and Helena joined forces and decided to go after the Swan Man in an effort to stop Rachel in Orphan Black’s “Ipsa Scientia Potestas Est.”
Rachel Enlists Paul To Be Her New Monitor
Rachel Duncan (Tatiana Maslany) returned home from her trip to Taiwan to a bloody apartment: Daniel, her monitor, is dead. Dr. Leekie (Matt Frewer) blames Rachel for Daniel’s (Matthew Bennett) death, saying her aggressive ways caused Daniel’s murder, but Rachel isn’t backing down. To replace Daniel, Rachel called Paul (Dylan Bruce), who was with her in Taiwan, and gave him the “promotion.”
Aldous reveals to Rachel that he may have found a stem cell treatment for Cosima (Maslany), but Rachel is ruthless. She instructs Leekie not to treat Cosima, to make her suffer until Sarah (Maslany) surrenders. Rachel’s control over Aldous baffles Paul, so Rachel clears up their relationship. Aldous took...

We’re back in the car crash with Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) and Daniel (Matthew Bennett) in this week’s episode of “Orphan Black.” Sarah awakes immediately, but Daniel appears to be a goner. Cal (Michiel Huisman) rushes to the car, having left Kira (Skyler Wexler) hidden somewhere and crashed into them on purpose, not knowing how else to rescue Sarah. They hide the car under branches in the hopes that Sarah will get a head start. Because it’s not entirely a practical way to throw people off, Sarah also takes Daniel’s phone to text Rachel, impersonating him. Cal tries to get answers [...]

Orphan Black, Season 2, Episode 1, “Nature Under Constraint and Vexed”
Written by Graeme Manson
Directed by John Fawcett
Airs Saturdays at 9pm Est on Bbca
This week, on Orphan Black: Sarah’s desperate, Cosima’s torn, and Alison’s a star!
Orphan Black is back, and before diving into an analysis of the season premiere, it feels right to take a moment to enjoy that statement. This series exploded onto genre fans’ radar last year, putting together a fantastic first season that embraced its heightened world while grounding itself with relatable, recognizable characters and one hell of a central performance from Tatiana Maslany. It was one of this reviewer’s picks for the best TV shows of the first half of 2013, it stood out as having one of the best episodes of all of 2013, and at the end of the year, the SoS writers collectively voted it the #15 TV series of 2013, among incredibly heavy competition.

If I've learned one thing over the years at Comic-Con is that the Con sleeps for no one. The lead-up to Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" has proven the robots and Columbia Records to be masters of hype. There were rumors upon rumors, most of which turned out to be true in some weird and twisted way (case in point: Daft Punk was at Coachella, but just to walk around in their civvies and watch the crowd react to a trailer for "Get Lucky").
But building up expectations often comes with plenty of risks. When the album arrives in stores on May 17, it will easily be the most-hyped record of the year. A few critics got an early listen of the project, and though most admit they need to spend more time with the album, here's what they have to say.
Over at MTV, James Montgomery writes that the record "is not a reinvention so much as it is a revolution; their attempt to liberate themselves from dance music entirely.

Okay, guys! It’s time to find out which young male star is better than the rest. Who do you think is the next Big Thing and deserves the title of Best Rising Male Star 2012!? The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon always seem to get it right. Many of their child actors end up making it big, but nothing’s guaranteed! Will Jake Austin from Wizards of Waverly Place be the next Star? How about Shake It Up stars Kenton Duty and Roshon Fegan? Perhaps adorable Jason Dolley from Good Luck Charlie? Or Bucket & Skinner’s lead actors, Dillon Lane & Taylor Gray?
We’ve put together a list of twenty rising male stars and are throwing a contest to determine who is the Best. The contest will be split into two rounds. Round One will feature all twenty nominees! Then, we will narrow the nominees down to the top ten, who...

Los Angeles — President Barack Obama is turning his attention back to the economy after a day spent raising millions of dollars for his campaign and riding a media wave on his newly declared support for same-sex marriage.
Obama was to promote housing policies to help homeowners avoid foreclosure in a quick visit Friday to struggling Nevada, which ranks second in the nation in foreclosed homes and has the highest unemployment in the country.
Obama won in Nevada in his 2008 presidential election. But the economy presents new challenges as well as an opportunity for his Republican rival, Mitt Romney.
Four years ago, Nevada was economically reeling from the recession and Obama and union allies seized on the anxiety to mobilize voters and win the state. Today, the Nevada is still in dire straits and the economy belongs to the president.

“The Cylons were created by man. They evolved. They rebelled. There are twelve Cylon models. And they have a plan…”
Just what the hell that plan was has been obscure to even the most hardy BSG fan since the series began. Finally, even after the finale of the series, we are fortunate to be handed down a new testament of the Cylons and their, ahem, machinations.
To describe what The Plan is – that is, what this new feature is – is difficult. Rather complex in narrative construction (loyal viewers of the show would expect no less), The Plan follows the chronology of the series from the miniseries, through near the end of season two. Told from the Cylons point-of-view, we are finally treated to secrets and given new insight into what makes the Toasters tick, as both an entire race and as individual characters.
Ultimately, in both plot and theme,...

As we may have said once or twice before here at The Flickcast, we really like Battlestar Galactica. Sadly, the original series has come to an end. However, as sad as that is, we at least have Caprica and the TV movie The Plan to look forward to.
Speaking of The Plan, which premieres later this year, Universal as just given us the scoop that they will be releaseing a Blu-day version of The Plan on October 27, the same day they drop the standard-def DVD.
Here’s the info from the official press release:
The Plan is directed by and stars Edward James Olmos. Jane Espenson wrote the screenplay. It recaps the story of the destruction of the human Colonies from the point of view of the Cylons. The new discs will include the uncensored 90-minute feature film.
The cast also includes Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas, Dean Stockwell, Tricia Helfer,...

We left off with Battlestar Galactica having just jumped back to Earth. If you missed the first part, you can read it here. It's worth noting that it's "our Earth" - not the Earth they jumped to earlier in the season. Twelve hours have passed and the scene opens to a beautiful view of Earth's oceans with some light, fluffy clouds overhead and the fleet ships starting to jump in. A transport leaves for the surface where they see a lush, green planet... Admiral Adama, Lieutenant Hoshi, Saul Tigh, Dr. Cottle, and Gaius Baltar are on the planet. They are scouting out the local inhabitants. Baltar passes a pair of binoculars to the Adama and says, "Well, there you have it, Admiral, the most advanced civilization we could locate on this planet. I can't see them talking to each other so either they communicate in a different way, or they're preverbal.

The two-hour series finale of Battlestar Galactica starts off with a magnificient nighttime view of Caprica City. It's too bad the upcoming prequel series Caprica takes place fifty years in the past; I would enjoy seeing what the city was like prior to its destruction by the Cylons. At any rate, this is certainly a bittersweet moment in science fiction history. We don't want it to end, but we certainly want to see the ending... The episode starts off with William Adama and Saul Tigh in a bar. Saul is definitely smashed and tries to convince Adama to have a lap dance from one of the dancers, which he turns down. They talk about the decommissioning ceremony that is planned for Galactica. He finally gives in with a toast, "to retirement!" Of course, he has no idea that his decision to participate is what ultimately saves his life and that...

Battlestar Galactica fans will rejoice when shooting begins on Monday on Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, a new story written by Jane Espenson. Like last year’s Razor telefilm, it will fill in a continuity gap using the regular cast. The film is expected to air after the final mini-season of Bg airs in the first quarter of 2009 on Sci-Fi Channel.
According to The Chicago Tribune, the movie will feature Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama), Michael Trucco (Sam Anders), Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol) and Dean Stockwell (Brother Cavil), Tricia Helfer (No. 6), Grace Park (Boomer/Athena), Rick Worthy (Simon), Matthew Bennett (Doral) and Callum Keith Rennie (Leoben).
Maureen Ryan writes, “My source says that [Saul] Tigh and a fellow Cylon, Tory Foster (Rekha Sharma), are in the film, but ‘not as much.’ In convention footage posted at Galactica Sitrep, Olmos indicates that Chief Tyrol has a good-sized role in the film.
