- He is the only actor to make credited guest appearances in each of the first four seasons of The Twilight Zone (1959).
- Portrayed one other character in Star Trek (1966). In the series' original pilot starring Jeffrey Hunter as Capt. Christopher Pike, Jon Lormer portrayed Dr. Theodore Haskins, one of the "survivors" projected by the Talosians on the planet Talos IV. So in total, he was on the show 3 times, not twice, although it was an un-aired pilot.
- Only a year older than Katharine Hepburn but played her father in Rooster Cogburn (1975).
- Played two different, completely unrelated Star Trek (1966) characters who were murdered by the despotic computers that oversaw their societies for trying to reveal key information to Captain Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy: Tamar in "Return of the Archons" and an unnamed old man in "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky".
- Tall, emaciated-looking, white-haired character actor, who first acted on the New York stage in 1936 ('American Holiday', 'Murder in the Cathedral') and later taught drama, as well as directing plays at the American Theatre Wing (the organization famous for creating the Tony Award). Lormer acted in early live TV shows and was often featured on screen in stern or dour roles.
- He is the only actor to appear in The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970) and all three of its spin-offs, Rhoda (1974), Phyllis (1975) and Lou Grant (1977).
- Jon Lormer often showed up in Desilu studio productions like Mission Impossible and Star trek ( The original) and played in the first Star Trek pilot and the series, 5 times: The Cage, The Return of The Archons(Tamar), For TheWorld Is Hollow And I Have Touched The Sky (oldman), and The Menagerie part 1& 2.(Dr Theodore Haskins, archival footage).
