With the June 13 start of Emmy nominations voting just three weeks away, the race is beginning to come into focus.
The drama series competition, which was looking incredibly bleak (with only one past nominee even eligible for a nomination this season, Netflix’s The Crown), is suddenly getting exciting. FX announced that Shōgun, which was expected to be a one-off limited series, will, in fact, be getting additional seasons, making it a drama series — and the new frontrunner for that prize and several related categories. But Amazon, far from conceding the category, is making a big push for its breakout rookie show, Fallout, which has amassed a sizable fanbase and overtaken Mr. and Mrs. Smith on the streamer’s list of priorities. (On Tuesday, they called in the big guns by having showrunner Jonathan Nolan interviewed by his big brother Christopher in front of a massive crowd of voters.

The crowd at Los Angeles’ DGA Theater was treated to two Nolans for the price of one on Tuesday night, as Christopher Nolan joined brother Jonathan Nolan for a For Your Consideration event in support of the latter’s Fallout series.
Jonathan executive produced the Prime Video show — based on the popular video game exploring a postapocalyptic Los Angeles — as well as directed three of the episodes. The Oppenheimer filmmaker brought Jonathan to the stage by introducing him as “my baby brother,” as the two dove into a wide-ranging chat that touched on their previous collaboration on The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises (which they co-wrote and Christopher directed).
Jonathan noted at one point that in forming a video game into a series, “I watched the way that you adapted Batman from comic books to film and I think the underlying idea was treated with respect, not to...

Neither used the word “bro” and there was zero talk about any sibling rivalry or late-night phone calls about their respective work woes, but Emmy voters who wanted to learn more about Amazon’s Fallout were treated Tuesday to an interview with Executive Producer Jonathan Nolan by his Oscar-winning sibling, Christopher.
Jonathan Nolan — who was introduced by the Oppenheimer director as “my baby brother” — talked about directing the drama based on a post-apocalyptic video game and how the role of the Ghoul was specifically written for Walton Goggins. But the 40-minute conversation at the DGA Theater also offered some insight into how the siblings collaborate and routinely inspire one another.
“The exciting thing for me with this project was knowing that we needed showrunners to carry the story forward,” Jonathan Nolan told his brother about creators Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner. “I thought there was an opportunity for me to...

Amazon Prime Video has delivered a sublime hit the long-awaited TV adaptation of the video game “Fallout.” The post-apocalyptic sci-fi show depicts a Los Angeles 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse devastates the USA.
Created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the series follows several story strands surrounding different characters, including vault dweller Lucy (Ella Purnell), Brotherhood of Steel squire Maximus (Aaron Moten), and a bounty hunter known as The Ghoul (Walton Goggins). The series has received rave reviews from newbies and devotees of the video game alike.
Lucy Mangan (The Guardian) observed: “For newcomers such as me, this intelligent, drily witty, immaculately constructed series set in the Fallout universe fully captivates and entertains on its own terms.”
Aramide Tinubu (Variety) stated: “Bizarre but intensely fun, ‘Fallout’ is like nothing you’ve ever seen; for that reason alone, you won’t be able to turn away.”

Christopher Nolan kicked off his Dark Knight trilogy with 2005’s Batman Begins. The film delved into the origins of Bruce Wayne as a child, confronting his fears and slowly growing up to be the vigilante we know as Batman. The trilogy became the most celebrated superhero trilogies of all time, exploring the characters’ eccentricities in a grounded and nuanced way.
Batman faces off against Bane in The Dark Knight Rises
By the time The Dark Knight Rises rolled around, the character had suffered a great loss and had become a recluse. A disillusioned Bruce Wayne was thrown into an underground prison by Bane. Instead of Nolan, his brother Jonathan Nolan came up with this interesting idea that harkened back to the first film where a young Bruce Wayne fell into a well.

Created by Bruce Timm, the 1992-released Batman: The Animated series is often recognized as the greatest animated offering of the DC character ever produced. The series, released in 1992, ranks high among the best-animated shows of all time, and actually gave fans a character that has come to be recognized as an integral aspect of the Batman fandom, in the form of Harley Quinn.

The Dcu, a ‘broad but not blanket’ reset of the Dceu, headed by James Gunn, has a lot riding on it when it comes to the future of Warner Bros. in general. While the highly anticipated Superman movie is set to become the first major offering under the new regime, a number of other highly-anticipated movies are also in the pipeline.
This includes the upcoming Batman II movie, which is set to further the journey of Robert Pattinson’s Batman and is rumored to have a place for Barry Keoghan’s Joker. While there have been rumors of several other antagonists who might as well end up being a part of Batman II, a fan on Twitter recently came up with his own iteration of how the movie should look like.

Seeing how Prime Video’s Fallout is heading full-speed into the Mojave Wasteland for Season 2, countless possibilities are opening up before the showrunners. Mojave is the home of Fallout: New Vegas, one of the franchise’s most popular games, and there are bound to be some points of intersection between the TV show and the video game… Though some ideas are better left untouched.
Fallout S2 Likely to Expand the Ghoul’s Lore
Out of the show’s four main characters, the Ghoul is clearly the most important: he’s the only one whose flashbacks provide us with context of the past 200-something years and thus explain the nature of current events. From Vault-Tec and the Great War to cold fusion and Moldaver, Cooper Howard connected all plot dots together.
Season 2 will most likely keep up the trend of adding Cooper’s flashbacks to support the present-day plotlines, and as a side effect,...

Among the main reasons for Fallout’s popularity as a franchise is its unique blend of drama and tragedy and utterly bizarre comedy bits. Only Fallout can tell you a serious story about the war and throw Ancient Rome and Elvis Presley cosplayers as dominant factions while peppering it with some alien and zombie hillbilly action.
The Fallout games can provide an infinite source of inspiration for Jonathan Nolan and his team, especially when it comes to all things ridiculous — but in our book, there’s one iconic character that simply must make an appearance in the TV show.

Does Walton Goggins smell an Emmy approaching? Probably not, but only because his character in Amazon Prime Video’s hit “Fallout” TV series doesn’t have a nose. But nevertheless, his performance is earning rave reviews and awards voters are known to love a transformation. Goggins spent hours in the makeup chair before almost every shoot to turn into The Ghoul, a lone-wolf wastelander who’s been around for hundreds of years. In an interview with Deadline Studio at Prime Experience, Goggins acknowledged the difficulties of taking on this character physically and emotionally.
“The very first time we did the application [of his mask],” Goggins said, “I asked to be left alone for an hour and a half outside and Jonah [Nolan] came by. I just sat outside by myself and just photographed it like in the sun and in the shade. I was extremely intimidated but excited to see how this Ferrari would work.

Prime Video’s Fallout TV show was extremely divisive up until the day it premiered — because since then, everyone has been absolutely in love with it, including the most staunch critics. Jonathan Nolan and his team did the near-impossible, adapting a video game in a way that left both new fans and Og gamers extremely happy with the end result and instantly craving for more, The Last of Us-style.
But Fallout went further — and started smashing records, too.

The Fallout game series was one of the pioneers of GenX and Millennial storytelling.
When creators Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky created a post-apocalyptic vision of human civilization gone awry (but never one to lose its sense of humor), the open world narrative eschewed labels of Good and Evil.
The Fallout universe was made of multiple factions, each one selfish, every character a survivalist in their own way.
These political and social plots explored the diversity of human thinking, teaching us concepts of anarchy that were foreign to even 1990s American cinema.
Now that the Fallout series on Prime based on the Bethesda game has debuted, it has the nearly impossible task of trying to humanize a game that was all but designed to escape humanity.
The show is a big hit and most likely the best video game to TV show adaptation we will ever see, thanks to the clever mind of Jonathan Nolan.

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is considered one of the best Batman movies of all time. From its execution to the cinematic scenes and well-built characters, the movie not only perfectly captures the true essence of Batman but also gives a befitting end to the whole tale.

A lot of work in the development of Fallout and Skyrim is paying off for Nate Purkeypile as he develops The Axis Unseen all by himself. The heavy metal horror game looks out of this world. His upcoming game hasn’t got a release date, but gamers may see it coming at some point this year.
The game is being developed under his solo banner, Just Purkey Games, and will take place in an open-world setting. Recently, FandomWire sat down with Nate to discuss his journey, touching on the time spent at Bethesda and then the solo development. After the conversation, we are more than curious to play the upcoming video game.

Fallout 3 was essentially Nate’s first real gig.
Many stories associated with devs are lost in the echo after a video game has come out, but fortunately we got to catch one.

The Dark Knight Writer Expresses Interest in Doing a Fourth Movie - Main Image

While the people involved in the trilogy have seemingly moved on from the franchise, some fans are still wondering whether they will revisit that Batman universe once again in the future.

Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! We’re back to our favorite 2024 Emmys genre: drama! I kid, of course, but there is something still dramatic about this year’s drama categories – even as we (I) wait with bated breath to see which limited series blinks and joins the party in these final days, pre-printed FYC ads be damned. For now, we’re all operating on the idea that “The Crown” is the favorite here, but that feels like it’s operating on more vibes than reality. The final season of the Emmy Award-winning series was certainly better received than its preceding season… but it was a far cry from the sweeping fourth season.

As gamers will know, Fallout is one of the most popular and best-known video game franchises, whose first installment was released back in 1997 for the PC, but it wasn’t until Fallout 3 was released on platforms that the series exploded. This post-apocalyptic role-playing game turned out to be an ideal material for a series adaptation, which is why Amazon Prime picked up the series, which was – in an almost unprecedented move for the streaming service – released on April 10, 2024 as a batch release; Amazon usually releases series on a weekly basis, but Fallout was a risk they were willing to take and it turned out great!
The series has been praised by both fans and critics, and it is one of the most talked-about shows at the moment, which is why we’re not surprised that Amazon has already renewed it for a second season. In light of that fact, the...

Christopher Nolan never ceases to leave his audiences amused. Be it through the absolutely jaw-dropping masterpieces he creates for the big screens or simply the way he prefers to spend his life (which notably includes ‘without a smartphone’), the mastermind filmmaker somehow manages to leave his fans surprised down to the core in the most unimaginable of ways.

Recently, following the release of the Emma Stone-starrer critically acclaimed series The Curse, Nolan did the same. However this time, he didn’t stun and leave his fans confused and unable to believe it through some strange tactic. Instead, this time, it was simply through his reaction to the finale of the 2023 series, which he seems to have texted showrunner Benny Safdie about!

Ben Affleck has donned a lot of roles throughout his spectacular career as an actor in the entertainment industry. This includes superhero roles in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the DC Extended Universe. But despite being such a tremendous actor with a versatile range, working in the superhero genre didn’t quite seem to work out for him the way it should have.
Ben Affleck in Deep Water.
Nonetheless, recent reports from an industry insider are claiming that the MCU is, once again, reportedly in talks with Affleck for a mystery role. However, while these reports may leave those fans of his who have been waiting so long to see him don a costume once again hopeful, the 51-year-old mastermind’s past comments on superhero films are more than enough to crash that hope.

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

After Microsoft’s closure of the Activision Blizzard merger last year, Xbox is now one of the biggest publishers in the gaming industry, a far cry from just 10 years ago, when it had a paltry five studios developing mostly Halo, Gears, and Forza games.
However, things have massively changed now, as the brand has 36 game development studios under its umbrella, as well as ownership of legendary IPs like Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Diablo, and many more. With names like these representing Xbox in the future, where does Halo -the trendsetter that kickstarted the platform in 2002 – fit in?

Sharing the sentiments of the majority of gamers, Todd Howard praised a game and developer that took the world by storm last year, winning numerous accolades in the process. Not only did the title manage to win the prestigious Game of the Year award at The Game Awards, but it also showcased how much dedication was put into it by the studio. Led by Swen Vincke, the team brought Dungeons and Dragons to the mainstream in a masterful way.
And the Fallout director suggests that its success didn’t come out of nowhere, given the developer’s previous track record.

The Dark Knight trilogy is considered, by some, the best superhero franchise ever made. The trio of films directed by Christopher Nolan, released between 2005 and 2012, are revered for their grown-up, adult crime drama vibe and cinematic scope.
Now Nolan’s brother and franchise co-writer Jonathan Nolan says he’d be down to return to the Batman universe.
In an interview promoting his hit Amazon series Fallout, Nolan was asked if he’d ever want to revisit the Batman franchise.
“Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Jonathan Nolan wrote The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises alongside his brother (after contributing to Batman Begins), filmmaker Christopher Nolan, and he's since shifted focus to small screen projects like Westworld and Fallout.
Christopher has said on multiple occasions that he's done with Batman, while Christian Bale has vowed to only return if the director does. As a result, we've come to accept this trilogy ended in 2012 and will be left alone.
However, in a new interview, Jonathan has made it clear he'd be open to returning to the Caped Crusader's world...even if his brother would take some convincing.
"Wouldn't that be a dream," he said. "That period was about 10 years of my life, from when I got the call to work on Batman Begins in 2003 to putting out The Dark Knight Rises In 2012 and it was epic."

In the past three decades, the Fallout series has successfully cemented its place as one of the most popular post-apocalyptic role-playing video games of all time. Thanks to its massive success, a TV show based on the series was also released on Amazon Prime recently. Since its first game, Fallout (1997), the series has drastically changed but the franchise hasn’t lost its core element, making it very popular among the fans.
So far, fans have got nine Fallout games across many different consoles, and one may assume that their first game would be the shortest in terms of runtime. However, that’s not the case. As for the longest Fallout game, it is only 1/4th of the time it takes to obtain 100% completion of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring. Here, we have ranked every Fallout game depending on the time it takes to complete it:

Fallout was a successful live-action adaptation of a popular video game with the combined efforts of Bethesda Game Studios and Amazon Prime Video. It shattered records and even made short work of popular series like The Boys and Invincible but couldn’t top The Lord of the Rings.
The show was able to pull an impressive 65 million viewers in the first 16 days since the day Prime Video released all of the episodes. Compared to an equally well-budgeted show based on the popular work of author J.R.R Tolkien, it was considerably better and more well-received.
The Fallout Series Is Way Better Than the Lord of the Rings Spinoff The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power had a strong start but failed to capture the fans, unlike Fallout.
Despite having a strong start, the video game adaptation was the second most-watched title on the platform and fell behind The Rings of Power.

It’s been a phase to forget for superhero movies across the board. DC Extended Universe could not sustain itself, drawing the franchise to an early end. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going through a lean patch that they don’t have any idea how to deal with.
Some call it superhero fatigue, some lousy writing. The real answer might be a cocktail of both extremes. But in this dry run for superhero flicks, the aficionados of the genre have something to be elated about – the Dark Knight universe might be set to make a comeback.

The Dark Knight trilogy, directed by Oscar-winner Christopher Nolan, is considered one of the best superhero franchises out there. Starring Christian Bale in the lead as Bruce Wayne/Batman, the movies went on to become hugely successful and even got a posthumous Oscar win for actor Heath Ledger, who played Joker in the second movie.
Tom Hardy’s Bane and Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight Rises
But nothing is ever perfect, and the trilogy is no exception. At the end of the third movie, which saw the showdown between Batman and his nemesis, Bane, played by Tom Hardy, there were some discrepancies. Marion Cotillard played the role of Talia al-Ghul, the daughter of Ras al-Ghul, who comes to Gotham for revenge as Batman killed her father. And her death scene in the movie is something fans have never been to find of.

"Fallout" is the smash success Amazon Studios has been waiting for. The show, based on the popular video game series of the same name, has become one of the biggest hits to date on Prime Video. Amazon has revealed that the series is now the second-most-watched show in the history of the streaming service, trailing only the mega-budgeted "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power."
According to Variety, "Fallout" was streamed by 65 million viewers during its first 16 days of release. Amazon made the choice to release the entire first season all at once on April 10. That's closer to the traditional Netflix binge model, rather than the week-to-week episode model that Prime Video has employed in recent years. That may have attracted more viewership in the early going, and that makes the show one of Prime Video's biggest hits ever out of the gate. As such, it's not surprising that...

As far as comic book adaptations go, most objective commentators and critics will agree that there is nothing better, overall than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which adapted the character of Batman and his world. Starring Christian Bale in the main role, the trilogy is lauded by critics and fans as well for having elevated the comic book movie to a completely new level, combining the fantasy of these worlds with the realism of our own world in the best way possible. Jonathan Nolan, Christopher’s brother, also contributed to the series as a screenwriter and in a recent interview, he confirmed that he would love to go back to that world at one point.

Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s biggest series ever — according to Prime Video.
The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.
Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. Video-game adaptations are going next level. Amazon says “Fallout” is off to the second-best start for any series on Prime Video ever.
More than 65 million people watched “Fallout” in its first 16 days on the streaming service, per a Prime Video rep. Amazon says that’s second only to the 16-day debut window for “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022. Amazon also says “Fallout” is the number 1 title globally on Prime Video in that span, it’s hit number 1 in 170 countries, and more than 60 percent of its audience has come internationally. People in the UK, France, and Brazil especially love it.

“Fallout” is proving to be far from a (nuclear) bomb for Amazon’s Prime Video.
According to the streamer, the series pulled in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of availability, with the first season dropping in its entirety on April 10. Amazon says the series is particularly well-received among the younger crowd, becoming Prime Video’s most-watched title ever with the 18-34 demographic within 16 days of release.

While Christopher Nolan is seen as the forerunner of original ideas in Hollywood with films such as Tenet and Inception, the filmmaker once redefined the superhero genre with his The Dark Knight trilogy. The films saw Christian Bale as Batman and depicted a realistic version of Gotham and the Caped Crusader, and dealt with philosophical and real-world issues such as the nature of violence and the right to privacy.
While The Dark Knight trilogy is often placed among the greatest superhero films ever made, Nolan reportedly also had a hand in making one of the most underrated animated Batman movies. According to Bruce Timm, Nolan was deeply involved in the making of Batman: Gotham Knight, which was set between the events of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Prime Video’s Fallout TV show has been getting nothing but praise from fans and critics alike ever since its recent release, and rightfully so. The only group of people discontent with something in the series is the hardcore Fallout: New Vegas fans who didn’t particularly enjoy seeing their favorite titular city in ruins in the very finale.

Prime Video’s latest and hottest TV show Fallout is famously set in the popular video game universe of the same name. Thanks to staying faithful to the source material and carefully adding countless references to the games, the new series earned the love of Og and new fans alike. Much of it can be attributed to the long and passionate planning that Jonathan Nolan and Todd Howard’s team did together.
