Antonio Baquero
- Special Effects
- Art Department
Antonio Baquero began working on films during the middle 40's at the art department as prop maker and special effects. With his brother Manuel Baquero they became part of the special effects team on many of the British and American productions filmed in Spain during the 50's and 60's, like Solomon and Sheba, El Cid, 55 days in Peking, or Battle of the Bulge. His brother Manuel founded his own FX Company and Antonio joined him alongside with other technicians like Antonio Parra, Antonio Bueno, Jose Antonio Balandin, or Clemente Dominguez. When Manuel Baquero retired from films at early 70's, Antonio remained working with the rest of the team, under the name of Cinefec.
Due to health problems, Antonio was changing increasingly the hard works on the shooting to perform administrative tasks until the end of his career. His last film was Conan, the barbarian (1982)
