When Beth, a successful memoirist, writes her first novel and asks her husband, Don, for advice, he promises her he likes it. “The Good Fight” saved its best and most audacious for last. In the exemplary series finale “The End of Everything,” which aired on Thursday, the lawyers at Reddick Ri’Chard signed off in a frenzy of gunfire, as white supremacists opened fire on the Black law firm at the heart of the show. The shocking climax served as a fitting and almost inevitable end to a six-season run that has chronicled the dismantling of civil discourse, judicial norms and the rise of violence in American society. The episode is also, paradoxically, a joyous end to one of the most original and daring series of the streaming era.
Before the supremely tense attack — which beautifully recreated the Paramount+ show’s main titles by having the gunfire explode the vases, televisions, law books and tumblers of the opening credits — the episode finds Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart at personal and professional crossroads.

[Editor’s Note: The following interview contains spoilers for the series finale of “The Good Fight.”]
For a series that was no stranger to embracing chaos, “The Good Fight” wrapped its six-season run on a moment far more simple.
Co-showrunner Robert King, who directed the finale, remembered that the last sequence the show shot featured Marissa Gold (Sarah Steele) and Carmen Moyo (Charmaine Bingwa) sharing a farewell moment of friendship on the stairs at the Reddick and Ri’Chard law offices.
“It was a real emotional one to end on, because they were good friends. And Sarah Steele has been with us for so many years now. It’s like seeing her grow up,” King told IndieWire.
Season 6 had plenty on its mind besides a parade of goodbyes. As it has since its 2017 debut, the Paramount+ show channeled anxieties about political upheaval, erosion of constitutional rights, the deep rumblings of fascism, and the litany of individuals using their power to attack the vulnerable.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “The End of Everything,” the series finale of “The Good Fight,” now streaming on Paramount+.
After six seasons, the clock has run out on “The Good Fight” — but not before leaving audiences with a gut-punch reminder that the fight is never over.
All season, the Paramount+ series has not-so-subtly used an escalating alt-right protest and fake grenades to tease a mysterious countdown to something happening on 11/10, which also marked the airdate for this week’s series finale.
But that doomsday clock wasn’t ticking down to the attempted assassination of the entire staff of Reddick & Associates, which showered the firm’s offices and the final hour in bullets. Instead, the clock timed out in the series’ final seconds with the news that Donald Trump had selected 11/10 as the day to announce his 2024 presidential run.
As such, “The Good Fight” ended where it began,...

Spoiler Alert: The following story reveals major plot points from the series finale of Paramount+’s The Good Fight.
The date was September 22, 2009 when viewers were first introduced to the character of Diane Lockhart in the CBS series The Good Wife, portrayed by Christine Baranski. Now, 13 years later, Diane walks off into the sunset one last time—at least for now—as the show’s streaming spinoff The Good Fight says goodbye after 6 seasons on Paramount+.
Everyone on the series was really put through the ringer this season, much like most of the world the last two and a half years. Diane, Liz Reddick (Audra McDonald), Marissa Gold (Sarah Steele), Jay Dipersia (Nyambi Nyambi), and Carmen Moyo (Charmaine Bingwa), among others, spent a lot of time in their law office where they were safe from the violence just outside their building where civil war loomed.

On Thursday, “The Good Fight,” one of the most prescient, incisive and criminally overlooked shows on television, airs its series finale. The final season of the Paramount+ legal drama and political satire has once again tapped into the existential angst of the nation, with the daily struggles of show’s law firm playing out against the backdrop of increasingly precarious political protests and a looming race war in Chicago. With societal tensions on the show at a fever pitch, the last hour promises to be a powder keg that co-creators Michelle King and Robert King are no doubt gleefully ready to strike.
Details about the episode are being kept under wraps. The logline for the finale, titled “The End of Everything,” reads simply, “The office must survive after being trapped by white supremacists.” With plenty of room for speculation, then, we couldn’t help but offer our hopes for the final hour,...

Diane's worries are far from over in the sixth season of The Good Fight TV show on Paramount+. Democratic campaign manager Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) made his debut on “The Good Fight” on Paramount+ over the last two episodes of Season 6, visiting Chicago to deal with tricky legal troubles brought about by a right-wing prosecutor attempting to call him out for interference in the 2020 election. While he was in town, he attended a fundraiser for the Dems, and was nearly killed when a man burst out of a bathroom stall at the event, shouting an anti-Jewish epithet and shooting Frank Landau, who the man had mistaken for Gold. But that wasn’t the original version of the story from showrunners Robert and Michelle King, according to Cumming.
“The original plan was even darker. … Eli was going to die,” Cumming said, noting he signed on to do two episodes with Eli dying in the second.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Good Fight Season 6 Episode 2 “The End of the Yips.”] The Good Fight got very Good Wife-y in the latest episode, with Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) stopping by to help his daughter Marissa (Sarah Steele), and offering an update on two major players of the original series. When Eli called into Diane Lockhart’s (Christine Baranski) office, she explained her being downstairs with “just a general reshuffling” before pivoting the conversation to Chris Noth and Julianna Margulies’ Good Wife characters: “And I hear Peter Florrick’s back in jail? Another reshuffling?” Eli confirmed — though didn’t specify why — and added, “I don’t think he’s going to come back from this one.” As for Alicia, “she’s still in law,” he shared. “Started her own firm in New York, doing well. You’re not in touch with her?” Diane confirmed she’s not, explaining, “that didn’t end well.

In the sixth season premiere of “The Good Fight,” Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart tearfully shares with her new therapist that she wants “off the wheel” of political and legal insanity, and in true ‘Good Fight’ fashion, her tears are induced by teargas from the raging angst in the streets. Unfortunately, fans of the Paramount+ series will be teary-eyed, too, as Diane getting off the wheel means that after 60 episodes, the Robert King and Michelle King legal and political drama will sign off, ending a 13-year run that began with “The Good Wife.”
In these final episodes, Baranski’s Diane will struggle to process the fact that so much progress made over the past 50 years has receded, from reproductive and civil rights to the return of Cold War aggressions and threat of nuclear war. His daughter Marissa (Sarah Steele), now an attorney, is excited to get right to it, and that means pushing to argue a motion in court. Though she swears Diane won’t regret saying yes, things don’t go as she’d hoped. Marissa tries to get advice from Carmen (Charmaine Bingwa), but the other lawyer is too distracted with her own case. It’s time to start saying goodbye to the women and men of “The Good Fight,” and they appear to be going out with lots of wine, some virtual sexy talk, and a hefty dose of déjà vu.
Paramount+ dropped the trailer for the sixth and final season of the series on Wednesday morning, a little over a month ahead of its Thursday, Sept. 8 premiere.
The new season, which spans 10 episodes, will see Diane Lockhart feeling like she’s going crazy, and struggling with that déjà vu over the overturning of Roe v. Wade, threats to voting rights, and the return of Cold War aggressions. Meanwhile, per the streamer, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.
Christine Baranski stars in the show alongside John Slattery, Sarah Steele, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi and Charmaine Bingwa, with Audra McDonald and Andre Braugher.

The upcoming sixth season of The Good Fight will be the last for the acclaimed series, which helped launch Paramount+ predecessor CBS All Access as its first original series. Production is currently underway in New York City on Season 6, which will premiere Sept. 8. This wraps a 13-season run for Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of The Good Wife, which aired on CBS for seven seasons, and co-creators/executive producers of spinoff The Good Fight.
As usual, The Good Fight will be topical and reflect current events in Season 6, which has Diane (Christine Baranski) feeling like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.

Before cameras rolled on the fifth season of the Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” series co-creators, showrunners, executive producers and writers Robert King and Michelle King had two major themes on their minds: the coronavirus pandemic and the January 6 insurrection. “We care about these characters on such a personal level, we want to see what they’ve been going through during these months,” Michelle recalls thinking when the writers’ room reconvened. A month and a half into their discussions, January 6 occurred. Robert says of how they grappled with the event, “Our real intent was to somehow suggest even though the Trump years were over, there was this lingering hangover.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Another familiar face is joining The Good Fight Season 6! Just one day after Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andre Braugher was announced to be joining the show as a series regular, TVLine reports that Alan Cumming is bringing his Good Wife character (Eli Gold) to in the upcoming season of the Paramount+ original, which will premiere later this year. Father to Marissa Gold, Eli will appear in two Season 6 episodes to help his daughter “navigate her new career as a full-fledged lawyer,” according to the report. The streaming spin-off — which premiered in 2017 — has followed Baranski’s Diane Lockhart since she joined Chicago’s Reddick, Boseman & Kolstad law firm after losing her money in a gigantic financial scam. Cumming starred alongside Julianna Margulies, Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Matthew Goode on the original series, which ran for seven seasons on CBS from 2009 to 2016. ...

The little engine that could has got nothin’ on Sarah Steele. Considering how seminal a season The Good Fight‘s just-concluded fifth was for both her and Marissa Gold, the no-bs B character she slowly but surely elevated to the A team, her motto oughta be not “I think I can” but “Of course I will.”

And then there were four. Again. Thursday’s penultimate episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 began by welcoming one queen back to the competition, then ended by crushing another queen’s dream entirely.
Let’s start with the “twist” that we all saw coming: Despite winning — nay, crushing — six lip syncs in a row, Silky Nutmeg Ganache was once again sent sashaying away. Instead, the coveted fifth spot went to Eureka, which means we can pretty much forget that the whole “game within a game” thing even happened.

Mandy Patinkin’s Judge Hal Wackner, the latest kooky character on the Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” makes his litigants end each lawsuit by saying to one another, “I respect and I love you.” Critics have shared the exact same sentiment about this criminally underrated series, which has been earning some of the best notices of its entire run for its brilliantly bizarre fifth season that wraps up on Thursday.
Its new characters, including Patinkin’s Wackner and Charmaine Bingwa‘s enigmatic new lawyer Carmen Moyo, topical episodes on medical racism in the treatment of Covid-19 and hilarious, moving visits from historical figures like Elaine May’s Ruth Bader Ginsberg have earned the plaudits of critics. Kevin Fallon (Daily Beast) calls the season “flawless,” writing that the show is “having what may be its best season ever,” including “the most thrilling stretch of episodes in a TV series this year.

Pop singer and actress Selena Gomez fired back at Paramout+ show “The Good Fight” Tuesday after the legal drama made a joke about a kidney transplant operation she underwent back in 2017.
Some context: “The Good Fight,” a spin-off of the hit CBS show “The Good Wife,” showed several characters brainstorming joke ideas for a comedy television executive played by Wayne Brady. Brady asks Liz (Audra McDonald) to put together something for one of his characters and the scene then unfolds with Marissa (Sarah Steele), Jim (Ifadansi Rashad) and Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) tossing out ideas.
In some weird attempt for the show to address cancel culture, Jay begins to ask what comedy topics should be off-limits, which leads people to list off answers including necrophilia, autism and “Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant.”
