Laura Dern was born on February 10, 1967 in Los Angeles, the daughter of actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd. Dern was exposed to movie sets and the movie industry from infancy, and obtained several bit parts as a child. Her parents divorced when Dern was two and Dern lost contact with her father for several years as a result.
Her parents' background and her own early taste of the movie-making world soon convinced the young Dern to pursue acting herself. Like so many young actors, her decision may have been influenced by social awkwardness -- the child of 1960s counterculture parents, she was steeped in Eastern mysticism and political radicalism, and was seen as an oddball by her more conservative classmates. Even before her teens, she had achieved most of her impressive 5' 10" height and was rail-skinny with a slouching posture.. Perhaps the nine-year-old Dern found refuge by studying acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.
The first success for the young Dern came in 1980, with a role in Adrian Lyne's Foxes (1980), a teen movie starring Jodie Foster. She followed this with several small parts, or parts in small movies, such as Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains (1982) and Teachers (1984), as a student who has an affair with a teacher. (Her mother objected to her active presence on movie sets at age thirteen, which required Dern to sue for emancipation so she could play her role in "The Fabulous Stains"). Her next roles, as the blind girl who befriends the deformed boy in Mask (1985), and as a teen-aged girl whose sexual awakening collides with a mysterious older man in Smooth Talk (1985), gave her career an important boost. Dern appeared to have made it with a leading role in David Lynch's acclaimed Blue Velvet (1986), but it was four years before her next notable film, and this was the bizarre Wild at Heart (1990), also directed by Lynch.
The following year, Dern starred in Rambling Rose (1991), which would become her signature performance, as a sexually-precocious, free-spirited young housemaid in the South in the 1930s. Dern earned an Oscar nomination for her performance, and so did her mother and co-star, Diane Ladd. Dern continues to win prominent roles on the big screen, often in smaller, highly-regarded human dramas such as October Sky (1999), I Am Sam (2001) and We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004), although she is perhaps most widely known for her repeat role as Ellie Sattler in the summer adventure movies Jurassic Park (1993) and Jurassic Park III (2001), or for her guest performance on Ellen (1994), as the woman to whom Ellen finally comes out as a lesbian.
Dern's pre-teen gawkiness matured into lithe beauty, but this doesn't prevent Dern from fearlessly throwing herself into a wide variety of roles which are sometimes unflattering, an excellent example being her unflinchingly comic portrayal of an intensely annoying loser whose pregnancy becomes a social and political football in Citizen Ruth (1996). This results in Dern being one of the most interesting actors working in Hollywood today.
Having previously dated such Hollywood talent as Treat Williams, Renny Harlin, Kyle MacLachlan, Jeff Goldblum and Billy Bob Thornton, Dern eventually married musician Ben Harper in 2005. Early in her career, Dern was roommate to Marianne Williamson, the spirituality guru. Dern attended two days of college at UCLA and one semester at USC.- Actress

Tim McIntire was a remarkably fine, versatile and underrated actor-composer-singer-songwriter-musician who gave consistently strong, impressive and charismatic performances in both movies and TV shows alike. The son of character actor John McIntire and actress Jeanette Nolan, McIntire was born on July 19, 1944. He was the brother of actress Holly McIntire. McIntire first began acting in plays while attending high school. He worked in gas stations and men's stores in order to finance his early theatrical career. Handsome and husky, with a deep, rich and commanding voice of exceptionally exquisite sonority, McIntire made his film debut as James Stewart's son in Shenandoah (1965). MicIntire was superb in a rare substantial starring part as passionate pioneering '50s rock -'n'-roll disc jockey Alan Freed in the hugely enjoyable American Hot Wax (1978). McIntire's other notable movie roles include a raucous party hearty college student in The Sterile Cuckoo (1969), an illegal cross-country car race participant in the funny The Gumball Rally (1976), a wild-man cop in The Choirboys (1977), a shrewd top con in the offbeat prison drama Fast-Walking (1982), and a rugged mountain man in Sacred Ground (1983). McIntire supplied the deliciously dry, growly and sardonic voice of the cruel and cunning canine Blood in the terrific post-nuke sci-fi cult classic A Boy and His Dog (1975). McIntire also composed the score for the picture and even sings the catchy ending-credits theme song. McIntire also composed the scores for The Killer Inside Me (1976), Win, Place or Steal (1974), Kid Blue (1973), and Jeremiah Johnson (1972) (McIntire beautifully sings the lovely folk ballad which plays during the ending credits). As both writer and director, David Twohy has contributed much to the film world, helping to elevate movies in such a way that Entertainment Weekly was prompted to name him "one of the 100 most creative people in Hollywood." In his career, Twohy has worked with on-screen notables like Harrison Ford, Judi Dench, Kevin Costner, Vin Diesel, Thandie Newton, Tommy Lee Jones, Jeff Daniels, Richard E. Grant, Chris Hemsworth, Demi Moore, Bruce Greenwood, Olivia Williams, Tim Olyphant and Milla Jovovich. To name a few.
Twohy struck gold early with his screenplay for the Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones vehicle "THE FUGITIVE," nominated in 1993 for Best Screenplay Previously Produced or Published. Other writing-only credits include "WATERWORLD," "TERMINAL VELOCITY," and Ridley Scott's "G.I. JANE."
As a director, Twohy made his debut with "THE GRAND TOUR," which he adapted from Henry Kuttner and C. L. Moore's haunting novella "Vintage Season." The movie received the Grand Prix at the Festival Du Film Fantastique and a Golden Scroll from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. Twohy was honored again with a Saturn Award for his follow-up directing effort, "THE ARRIVAL."
Twohy's next effort became one of 2000's most unexpected films, "PITCH BLACK." Released by Universal Studios, this modestly budgeted movie shot in the Australian outback startled critics and audiences alike with its chilling mood and unexpectedly deep characters. The success of "PITCH BLACK" would launch a new film franchise for Universal. Its sequels were the sweeping "CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK" and the spartan survival movie "RIDDICK."
Between franchise movies, Twohy found time to write and direct two stand-alone thrillers: "BELOW," co-written with Darren Aronofsky ("REQUIEM FOR A DREAM"), follows a series of eerie occurrences on a claustrophobic submarine during World War II. Twohy then turned to the wide open vistas of Hawaii to film "A PERFECT GETAWAY," a twisted tale that shocked audiences around the world.
Next up for Twohy is "RUNNING WITH LIONS," a contemporary story about the world of Formula One.- Additional Crew

Julienne Davis was born in Los Angeles. She left home at seventeen and moved to New York to pursue a career in classical ballet. When she grew too tall to audition for the corps de ballet, she made the tough decision to quit dance and began a modeling career. As a successful international model, Julienne's career led to her living and working in many cities, including Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Milan, Athens, Munich, Barcelona, Madrid, Tokyo, and Bangkok. Because London's vibrant cosmopolitan culture held a special allure for her, she made that her main home base for many years and during that time also became a British citizen. Whilst in the city, she became involved in other ventures, including fashion stylist, club promoter, singer/songwriter, and producer. In 1998, she auditioned as an extra in Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, but instead landed the pivotal role of Mandy Curran in the film. From that point on, her life changed drastically, and she consequently became an "It" girl in London, leading the celebrity lifestyle, with parties, press, and paparazzi. Her acting, voiceover, and music careers continued to flourish. Highlights include major roles in the films House of 9 starring Dennis Hopper and Come Together starring James D'Arcy. As for TV, she was a series regular for the BBC comedy Too Much Sun starring Mark Addy and Lee Majors, as well as various guest star roles, the most notable being The Bill--which was practically a UK institution. During this time, her band Sophisticated Savage was busy recording and performing live. She sang, wrote and co-produced the band's album "Strange Paradise," now on iTunes. Based mainly in Los Angeles, she is with her new band: The Midnight Candy, and she continues to work as an actor, vo artist, writer and producer.
