Johnny Depp has responded to recent accusations from actress Lola Glaudini, who claimed the actor berated and mistreated her while filming a scene for the 2001 film Blow.
In a resurfaced episode of the Powerful Truth Angels podcast from Jan. 30, Glaudini recalled one scene where the film’s star Depp was doing a monologue and director Ted Demme (who died in 2002) instructed her to “burst out laughing” when he said a specific line.

The crowd of celebrities, music industry insiders, and media folks that crammed into the New York City club Racket on Thursday evening had every reason to believe they were there to witness a Rolling Stones concert, but it was impossible to be sure at first. The invitation billed the event merely an “album release party” timed to the release of Hackney Diamonds. We were told all phones and smart watches would be placed in pouches, and “armed guards” and “personal security” wouldn’t be allowed in. “Dress cool,” read the invite.

In the first fifteen minutes of Hell Fest, before entering the Halloween carnival (of the same name), an overly excited Taylor- played by Bex Taylor Klaus – tells her friends about a real life murder that happened at a similar event nearby, the year before.
“What can I say, some people are just evil – they’re monsters, and to them, every single day is Halloween… and they dress up, so we don’t know,” Taylor states.
In response to the protagonist Natalie asking, “Know what?” she explains, “ That they walk among us.”
This quick minute of dialogue is easily overlooked, and yet it’s vital to understanding Hell Fest as a whole. It lays out the theme of the next hour and a half, and serves as a foreshadowing of the evil in plain sight. As well as offering brief exposition about our unknown villain.

Paul Reubens, star of the 1985 classic “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure,” had leukemia when he died in July at 70, according to his death certificate.
Reubens’ cause of death was stated to be acute hypoxic respiratory failure, meaning his lungs were not producing enough oxygen. That condition was likely caused by his cancer, which according to the death certificate had also spread to his lungs.
His cancer was described in the death certificate as acute myelogenous leukemia, a form of the blood disease that also attacks bone marrow.
Reubens’ family said in a statement on July 31 released after his death that he had been “bravely and privately” battling cancer for years “with his trademark tenacity and wit.” Reubens had not previously revealed a cancer diagnosis.
The Blast first reported Reubens’ cause of death.
The death certificate also said Reubens was cremated and will be interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Harmony Korine’s “Aggro Dr1ft” received a 10-minute standing ovation after its premiere at Venice Film Festival, despite a flurry of walkouts.
Though some audience members left as soon as the experimental action film finished (and at least 25 departed before that), Korine’s hardcore fans stuck around for a rousing 10-minute ovation at the midnight screening. As Korine greeted the crowd and did a happy dance, chants of “Harmony! Harmony! Harmony!” rang out.
Each time the applause started to died down, Korine waved his hands in the air like a conductor, and the cheers started up again.
Strippers twerking, demon-like crime lords chanting “dance bitch” and Travis Scott’s major-role debut are just a taste of what “Aggro Dr1ft” had to offer. When Scott first appeared on screen about halfway into the film, the crowd erupted in applause. However, the rapper was not in attendance at the premiere.

Everyone seems to have a personal story about Paul Reubens, aka Pee-wee Herman. And those stories seem always to revolve around birthdays. I didn’t know Reubens, but apparently half of the people on my Facebook timeline did, because they’re all sharing memories about the lengths Reubens would go to every year to celebrate their big day.
“He loved to make your birthday special,” wrote Joel Stillerman, the former MTV and AMC exec who played a role in helping “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” get made, and later worked with him on the film “Blow.” “The texts, memes, videos and gifs would start in the morning and continue all day until you were in tears, and disbelief that anyone could pull this off. Because you knew that it wasn’t just you.”
Quite honestly, seeing the number of people just on my social media timeline who have a similar Paul Reubens story...

The late, great comedian Paul Reubens first started developing his popular Pee-wee Herman character while working for the Groundlings, a comedy troupe in Los Angeles. They famously encouraged comedians to invent wild, outsize characters that would provide comedy in any situation they entered. Reubens' Pee-wee character caught the attention of the local -- then the national -- comedy scene, leading to a long-running live show. Eventually, Pee-wee became the star of three feature films. Tim Burton's "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" was released in 1985, Randal Kleiser's "Big Top Pee-wee" was released in 1988, and John Lee's "Pee-wee's Big Holiday" was released on Netflix in 2016.
The third of those films came after Reubens had experienced multiple career highs and lows, having starred in a hit TV series, then having retreated from the public eye in the 1990s because of a very public arrest. Reubens returned to film in a big way...

"Pee-wee's Playhouse" was a staple of television from 1986-1990, both for kids who loved the silly talking chair, puppets, and silly scenarios, and for adults who loved the tongue-in-cheek humor. Sadly, Paul Reubens, who hosted the show as Pee-wee Herman, has died at the age of 70. The beloved comedian had a huge career, including roles in "The Blacklist," "Portlandia," "The Smurfs," "Pushing Daisies," "Blow," and the movie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," as well as a very meta appearance in "What We Do in the Shadows." Still, his Pee-wee Herman persona is what Reubens is best known for, returning to the role in 2016 in "Pee-wee's Big Holiday," which he also wrote and produced.
"Pee-wee's Playhouse" is remembered as being incredibly smart and innovative for a children's show and boasted some big acting names like S. Epatha Merkerson, Phil Hartman, and Laurence Fishburne. There were a lot of rather mature jokes in there,...

Jane Birkin, the singer and actress who rose to fame in the late 1960s as the lover of French bad boy Serge Gainsbourg and became a beloved figure in her adopted France, has died. She was 76.
The French culture minister announced the news on Sunday following reports in Le Parisien newspaper and Bfm television that said Birkin had been found dead at her home in Paris. She had suffered a mild stroke in 2021.
Although born in London, Birkin would find fame singing in French. Her duet with Gainsbourg on the sexually explicit song “Je t’aime…moi non plus” (which was banned in several countries and condemned by the Vatican) made her a household name around the world.
The song was recorded in 1968, just months after the pair — Birkin, then 22 years old, and Gainsbourg 40 — had first met on the set of the film Slogan, forging a turbulent relationship that would...

Netherrealm Studios has always been one of the more fascinating fighting game developers. They’ve always taken more creative risks than their competitors, to somewhat mixed results. Mortal Kombat was a nice return to form for the series. Then Mortal Kombat X introduced a great amount of player freedom with its variation system and sped the game up to blistering speeds, but a lot of fan-favorites were set aside for a focus on new characters such as the “Kombat Kids.” Mortal Kombat 11 introduced a gear system similar to Injustice 2 and custom variations but had a story almost entirely alienating to newcomers. So imagine my surprise that the oddly titled Mortal Kombat 1 looks to go back to the start of the timeline for a wild revisionist version of the game we know and love while introducing new gameplay mechanics that drastically alter the way we play. The result? An experience that...

Druids and Barbarians are the two “worst” leveling classes in Diablo 4 by a considerable distance. Both classes excel in the Endgame, but getting them there requires a ton of patience and a lot of gear. Of course, having the right leveling build doesn’t hurt. That’s obviously what we’re here to talk about today.
Just note that this is a pure leveling build for Barbarians. That is to say that it’s intended to get you from level 1-50 as painlessly as possible. While you can continue using this build in World Tier 3, its power level falls off considerably at higher difficulty levels. At that point, you’ll want to consider swapping to one of Barbarians’ best Endgame builds.
Diablo 4: Best Barbarian Leveling Build – Bleeding Death Blow
Skills: Frenzy, Rend, Rallying Cry, War Cry, Death Blow, Call of the Ancients

They say “sex sells” in Hollywood, right? But what about drugs? After all, once the production code was lifted, successful counterculture drug movies like Easy Rider gave way to the indie auteur movement in American cinema in the 1960s and 70s, where Hollywood renegades like Brian De Palma and Martin Scorsese picked up the mantle and went on to make all-time classics like Scarface and Goodfellas decades later. In the interim, there has been no shortage of critical and commercial drug movie successes, be they Blow, Sicario, Traffic, The Wolf of Wall Street, you name it.
So then, Wtf Happened to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Seriously. How does such an authentic movie from the altered mindstate of Gonzo journalist Hunter S. You think we need one more? You think we need one more. What about two more? Ocean’s Eleven star George Clooney has taken a dig at some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, but only because they turned down the chance to join the ensemble cast of the 2001 heist film.
Speaking at this year’s TCM Classic Film Festival, Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh sat down with Ben Mankiewicz, where the topic of Ocean’s Eleven and its cast was brought up. Putting the release into context, Clooney said, “Steven had just done Erin Brockovich and Traffic, and he was nominated for directing both films…So, people really wanted to work with Steven.” At that point, Soderbergh interjected, saying that there were still plenty of marquee names that snubbed the project. As Clooney put it, “Some very famous people told us to fuck right off. Mark Wahlberg, Johnny Depp. There were others.

”I love working with actors, it’s so fun,” says Jennifer Weber in our recent webchat. She adds, “Because you get to find what’s unique about each person and the way they bring their own personality to the journey of the character.” The choreographer made her Broadway debut this season with two musicals, “& Juliet” and “Kpop,” which both required her to investigate specifics of how actors would live within distinct pop music worlds. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“It’s the choreographer’s job to make each performer in the show able to bring their character to life in a really specific way,” explains Weber. For the jukebox musical “& Juliet,” that meant tapping into the specific physical language found in the live performances of today’s top artists. “We are really inspired by the explosion of numbers in pop concerts,” she notes. Pop stars incorporate larger-than-life performance elements in their shows,...
