Finally, Jason1 and Amanda were getting somewhere.
Sadly, that ended up being two separate locations on Dark Matter (2024) Season 1 Episode 7.
It was rewarding to watch how Amanda came to find herself a new home.
She finally heeded Blair2's advice on Dark Matter (2024) Season 1 Episode 5, which told her to find a world of her own.
FBI Season 7: Cast and Character Guide
Amanda burned bridges with her dimension when she helped Jason1 to escape from Velocity Lab.
So she needed to land someplace new.
That likely explained why she kept checking on her namesakes in every world on which they landed.
Amanda certainly deserved better from life than she had gotten.
Her Jason (Jason2) was more in love with his research than he was with her.
Then, when he decided he required domestic bliss, he found a Jason who had married a Daniela rather than starting a family with Amanda.

Storyline aside, the strangeness encapsulating Outer Range Season 2 (and the previous season) is mind-bending.
While some questions from the previous season are answered, even more are left on the table, along with a suggestion of trouble surrounding the timeline of events.
Outer Range dives headlong into the concept of time travel, a science fiction genre that often derails movies and shows that embrace it.
While time travel will always be an exciting and intriguing topic to the audience, it also means that a resolute ending point in the season finale is nothing more than a pipe dream.
The Status of the Mysterious Hole
The hinge point from which Outer Range's bizarrely shaped door swings is the gigantic, dark hole in the middle of the Abbott family's western pasture.
Though there are indications that the hole is not the catalyst for time travel, at least not by physically throwing someone in it,...

Red-headed actress and legendary country crooner Reba McEntire is at it again with another funny project for the whole family.
And this time, she's joined by a familiar face.
Believe it or not, a whole generation of adults grew up watching McEntire's classic series Reba and didn't even know she was a country singer.
Her roles and country queen persona are very similar, with the only difference being her singing.
In recent years, the southern songstress appeared in a leading role in the Big Sky series.
This fall, Reba returns with Melissa Peterman and up-and-coming actress Belissa Edwards. Here's everything we know so far about Happy's Place!
What is Happy's Place about?
Bobbi (Reba McEntire) inherits her father's restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had.

The Academy Award nominee joins a very famous ensemble that already includes franchise star Daniel Craig, reprising his role as brilliant private detective Benoit Blanc, plus Josh O’Connor (“Challengers”), Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), Andrew Scott (“Ripley”), Kerry Washington (“Scandal”), Glenn Close (“Hillbilly Elegy”), Jeremy Renner (“Mayor of Kingstown”), and Mila Kunis (“Luckiest Girl Alive”).

Rian Johnson is collecting stars for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, like Hideo Kojima scanning celebrities for cameos in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and the upcoming horror game Od. Oh, snap. Josh Brolin has joined the all-star cast of the new Knives Out mystery movie.
Rian Johnson is furiously casting up Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which, like the other installments, is being headlined by Daniel Craig
The Netflix feature is heading toward an early June production start in the U.K. and already has a sizeable list of suspects (and maybe a murder victim or two) in the form of Challengers’ Josh O’Connor, Civil War actress Cailee Spaeny, Ripley star Andrew Scott, Scandal alum Kerry Washington, screen and stage veteran Glenn Close, Hawkeye straight shooter Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis, who starred in thriller Luckiest Girl Alive for Netflix.
Plot details and character information are being kept in the bodybag, but the thriller is expected to follow the same deliciously elliptical path as Johnson’s previous Knives Out mysteries. Eccentric, Southern-fried detective Benoit Blanc (Craig...

The Regency era dominated TV screens during the week of May 17-23, as “Bridgerton” took not one, not two, but three top spots on Luminate’s weekly streaming ranking charts.
In its first full week of availability, Season 3 Part 1 of the Shonda Rhimes-produced Netflix series hit 2.3 billion minutes watched, the No. 1 title by far. Season 1 took second place with 498.6 million minutes watched, followed by Season 2 with 434 million minutes watched. It’s clear that “Bridgerton” will continue to dominate streaming rankings for weeks to come, not only because of the show’s obvious popularity, but because Season 3 still has four episodes yet to come on June 13.
Two titles tied as the next-most-watched of the week: Season 2 of Amazon Prime Video's "Outer Range," which was the No. 4 TV series, and Netflix's "Mother of the Bride," the top movie. Both were watched for 256.4 million minutes in their first full weeks of availability.

Josh Brolin is known for taking on some intense dramatic roles. However, as an actor, he is seemingly someone who never lets the nature of the project cloud his own professionalism. Brolin takes a step behind the camera for his new series Outer Range, and having to direct actors brought the Sicario star a little more perspective. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Thanos actor opened up to Esquire about not buying certain actors’ behavior.
It was when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he stated, “I don’t particularly love actors as an actor.” And especially as a director, Brolin told Esquire some of the ridiculous things actors give the crew to deal with,
Especially people who won’t come to the set and that kind of sh*t. If there’s a good reason, I get it, but if you’re just an irritated actor because you’re so creative or sensitive,...

Josh Brolin, the 56-year-old Oscar nominee for his supporting turn in “Milk,” co-star of Best Picture-winner “No Country For Old Men,” and Barbra Streisand’s stepson, can now add director to his resume. The new gig has given him a new perspective on working with actors from the director’s chair. Following a crack he made on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” about how he “didn’t really love actors,” he expanded a bit in a conversation with Esquire.
Explaining how he took the new gig very seriously with what he called over-preparation and not “being lazy about it,” he then shared that he wasn’t particularly impressed with certain kinds of...

Some directors prefer a soft touch when working with their talent, but as an actor himself, Josh Brolin’s behind-the-camera demeanor has more of a no-bullshit approach. Discussing his first time in the director’s chair on his television show “Outer Range” with Esquire, Brolin outlined how directing was thrust upon him rather than asked of, but that it came from others seeing he had the skills and sensibility to take on this role.
“There were a lot of interests that I’ve had through the decades that I never really understood,” said Brolin. “When I directed, I was able to funnel it all into one place without trying to force it. My whole life made sense.…I’m not going to quit acting and just be a director. But it utilizes more of my sensibilities as a person. I’m naturally a communal person. I get excited by experimenting.

Besides giving star-studded performances as Thanos in (majorly) Marvel’s Avengers film series, Cable in Deadpool 2, and Gurney Halleck in the Dune lore, one of Josh Brolin’s most unforgettable roles is from his series from 2022, Outer Range. Displaying his brilliant acting prowess as Royal Abbott in it, he won everyone’s hearts with this critically approved sci-fi Western drama as well.

After more than two years away from the small screen, Outer Range returns to Amazon Prime Video behind a star-studded cast of actors.
Created by Brian Watkins, Outer Range combines elements of American science fiction with a neo-Western narrative, featuring two families locked in a property dispute over ownership of a large pasture with a physics-defying massive hole.
This season sees the Abbott family in shambles after their granddaughter's disappearance, struggling to keep the family together through more time travel shenanigans.

[This story contains spoilers from A Man in Full and Outer Range season two.]
Between Tom Pelphrey’s two current streaming shows, one would think that the series with the shimmering time portal in the ground would have the more off-the-wall ending. But that honor instead belongs to David E. Kelley’s A Man in Full.
Adapted from Tom Wolfe’s novel, the Netflix limited series centers on Jeff Daniels’ Charlie Croker, an overextended billionaire who owes various banks over a billion dollars in overdue loans, and Pelphrey’s Raymond Peepgrass is one of the bankers who’s tired of being stepped on by Charlie both personally and professionally.
All season long, Raymond and Harry Zale (Bill Camp) are on the verge of seizing Charlie’s assets, but he works the system to his advantage to stave off collection. Frustrated, Raymond makes one last move to acquire controlling interest in Charlie’s life’s work — a building called the Concourse,...

It’s rare to have a compelling heroic arc in sci-fi thrillers, and that’s especially true in a series like Outer Range, where the majority of the characters exist in the gray area of morality. Therefore, in the second season, the portrayal of Native American Sheriff Joy Hawk deserves special attention, especially because her character growth complements the overarching plot and the time-travel-oriented narrative. Additionally, the fact that the makers have emphasized on a strong representation through the character in the second season, without sacrificing the intrigue of the storyline – by integrating it seamlessly with the narrative, is something worth mentioning as well.
Spoilers Ahead
Sheriff Joy Provided Innovative Potential for Storytelling
Since the first season of Outer Range, the makers have pushed the boundaries of the neo-western theme of the narrative, and Joy’s character allows them to do that in a proper way. With changing times, the...

The second season of Outer Range has come to an end, and in typical sci-fi thriller fashion, it has raised more questions than it has answered. However, one vital point that we as viewers know for certain is that Amy Abbot, the granddaughter of the elderly protagonist duo of the series, Royal and Cecilia, is at the center of the temporal crisis that has messed up both the Abbots and Tillersons’ households through the past, present, and future. In the present timeline, it’s the machinations of Autumn Rivers, supposedly the future self of Amy, that set off a chain of events, which will eventually lead to a troubling future if Royal fails to stop her. For Autumn, Amy turns out to be the most important part of her scheme, whom she plans to use to create a dreadful future. The connection between Autumn and Amy is integral to understanding...

If you’re just as Yellowstone-pilled as we are, it might seem like the genres of Western and neo-Western borderline don’t exist beyond Taylor Sheridan and Kevin Costner’s projects. Fortunately, that’s not true — and this sensational TV show directed by Brian Watkins and produced by none other than Brad Pitt proves it.
Better yet, it finally released its second season just now!
Outer Range Returns with a Bang
Brought to us by Charles Murray instead of Brian Watkins this time, Outer Range Season 2 finally hit the screens on May 16 to continue its convoluted but ultimately intriguing story. In the first day, it has already managed to surpass the success of Season 1, raking up 83 and 100% Critic and Audience Scores on Rotten tomatoes against the debut series’ 79 and 60% scores, respectively.
On IMDb, Outer Range boasts a solid 7.1/10 score for both seasons, but on both platforms, these numbers are likely to change over time.

The slow-moving first season of Amazon’s sci-fi Western “Outer Range,” ostensibly about a void in the middle of a pasture owned by Royal Abbott (Oscar nominee Josh Brolin), didn’t answer many (or really any) of the questions it put forth. By the end of Season 1 we knew for certain that the gaping hole in the ground allowed people to travel through time, but little else was revealed or explained. The show was comfortable to let viewers quietly ponder the meaning of life, the universe, and everything as its many interconnected subplots unfolded. It was also a stunning advertisement for New Mexico (standing in for Wyoming) thanks to the wide sweeping vistas that acted as the show’s backdrop. But new showrunner Charles Murray knows we can’t subsist on beautiful scenery and vague discussions about time forever, so Season 2 — the seven episodes of which are now streaming on...

Time travel is one of mankind's greatest dreams and a classic plot of the sci-fi genre, whose main advantage is its amazing flexibility: the trope can be both the main topics in the show and one of the side elements; it can be the basis of an exciting adventure as well as a philosophical drama.
On May 16, the second season of a science fiction series Outer Range that uses the concept of time travel, the first season of which many missed, was released on Prime Video.
What is Outer Range About?
As the head of a farming family in rural Wyoming, Royal must manage the land his wife's family has owned for generations: fend off wealthy neighbors who say they actually own part of the property; comfort his son and granddaughter after his daughter-in-law, Rebecca, goes missing; and deal with his wife Cecilia's faith, which he does not entirely share.

The mysteries lurking beneath Abbot Ranch have once again stirred up the proverbial hourglass, as Amazon Studio’s Outer Range has returned with its second season. After the much-underrated first season of the complex sci-fi western managed to captivate the attention of a small number of viewers, the odds of continuation didn’t seem good due to the strong possibility of cancellation. However, fortunately, the creators got another chance to expand the scope of their vision with a second season of Outer Range, which they have utilized in the best way possible. While the confusion regarding the central plotline isn’t really resolved in this season either, a number of smaller story arcs have been set in motion in the aftermath of the tense, eventful finale of the second season. We would like to briefly discuss those, along with the ending itself, to help viewers assess what to expect when...

Going into the 2024 ACM Awards, you didn’t have to be clairvoyant to nail some key predictions. Host Reba McEntire was sure to be both corny and unflappable, Lainey Wilson was a lock to win Entertainer of the Year, and country interloper Post Malone, scruffy and face-tattooed, was going to charm the pants off everyone.
That all of that happened isn’t a bad thing. In fact, there was something especially comforting about the predictability of this year’s ACMs, held for a second year in a row at the...

Nominee Ashley McBryde and actor Noah Reid stole the show while presenting Single of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards. The pair performed parodies of this year’s nominees while presenting the award.
Reid has sung a bit on both Outer Range and, most memorably, on Schitt’s Creek, which McBryde complimented at the beginning of their time on stage. Reid said he was nervous presenting at the show, so McBryde pulled out a ukulele and launched into a version of Parker McCollum’s “Burn It Down,” this time about Reid being new in town.

Not all is well in Wyoming, and Outer Range Season 2 Episode 6 kicks things off with the surety that Autumn is Amy, and Rhett is finally figuring more into the picture.
If there’s been an overarching issue with the Outer Range series so far, it's been covering all of the various characters and subplots it has going on.
Rhett and Marie have been a part of the whole, yet it feels like they are almost entirely irrelevant to the plot.
We also get more of a glimpse into Rebecca and Amy’s doings, another two that feel almost irrelevant.
If not for their presence in terms of the aura they set over the entire Abbott family, they could easily be forgotten.
On the bright side, it looks like Joy took Royal’s advice, telling her wife Martha all about her four years in the 1880s.

Many shows in TV history have lived and died by their mysterious nature. Ongoing storylines in classics such as The X-Files, Lost, and Fringe had fans theorizing about main characters’ fates, the creative team’s intentions, or the deeper meaning of it all. Recently, shows such as From, Severance, and Yellowjackets have the same kind of devout following, and the same overarching enigmas that keep audiences coming back for answers.
When looking back at Outer Range’s first season, it’s easy to understand why the show was picked up for a second, and why the show had to come back – to unravel some of those riddles that season one left behind. While the sophomore season might have created more questions than answers, at least some of the puzzles have been solved. But don’t worry, if you’re still feeling out of the loop,...

One the best, most underrated and ambitious TV shows of that past few years is back and y’all need to saddle up for it. Launched in 2022 on Prime Video, Season 1 of Outer Range at first looked like a moodier Yellowstone, with Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, a gruff Wyoming rancher trying to save his property from a land dispute with his oddball neighbors. Meanwhile, he and wife Cecilia (Lili Taylor) were also dealing with their two sons, Rhett and Perry (Lewis Pullman and Tom Pelphrey) and the granddaughter left behind by Perry’s missing wife. Average Western soapy stuff. That was until shortly into the series premiere, Outer Range went Outer Limits: Royal discovered a massive, bottomless and unexplained hole out in his west pasture. And when his neighbor’s son was accidentally killed by Perry in a bar fight, he then disposed of his body into said mysterious hole.

The flow of time is perceived as being progressive and linear in nature, which contributes to our understanding of concepts such as ‘Butterfly Effect,’ ‘Grandfather Paradox,’ ‘Bootstrap Paradox,’ etc., where temporal changes are theorized to have a significant impact. But what if time, as we know it, doesn’t remain bound by the constraints of a fixed direction and rather starts acting as a catalyst, connecting various points across the past, present, and future in a way that ensures the inevitability of the continuation of time? As the second season of Amazon Studios’ sci-fi western thriller Outer Range reveals itself with all its eccentric zaniness and complexities, this particular version of time gains narrative focus, often acting like a distinctive character in its own right.

There’s really nothing linear about Prime Video’s breakout science fiction/Western, Outer Range. Every time audiences assumed they had a grasp on what the show’s secrets would reveal, it would let loose a crater-sized twist, leaving fans scrambling to figure out what just happened. Even chronology isn’t linear, as the heroes of this fictional Wyoming ranch have been bucked back and forth through time like a prize bull-rider.
Yet here in the real world, fans have been patient to see the continuation of the Abbott family drama. It is certainly a loaded and layered show that deserves a rewatch to catch all the clues and mysteries of the Abbott ranch, but before the second season premieres, allow Den of Geek to recap what’s happened so far.

If time is a river, as the oft-repeated phrase echoes through the second season of Prime Video’s mysterious, existential Western and metaphysical sci-fi series, the “Outer Range,” then the unrelenting flow of time is also an unforgivable force that stops for no man. Weirder and darker than ever, and yet somehow streamlined and more ruggedly focused, thanks to the series’ new veteran showrunner Charles Murray, “Outer Range” continues to grip and mesmerize with its mind-bending, enigmatic blend of family anxieties, crisis-of-faith dilemmas, impending land rivalries, and the burden of keeping secrets.

If you only know Outer Range from the title and the image of Josh Brolin wearing a cowboy hat, you would probably be forgiven for assuming that the show was simply Prime Video’s answer to the extremely popular Yellowstone franchise and nothing more. But for good or ill, it is far more than just that.
The show’s first season, with its ongoing murder mystery and eventual shift into full-on time travel, was more than a little confusing at points; but its strong cast and mostly focused story helped keep things anchored and consistently compelling. Season 2 meanwhile leans hard into the time travel angle and while its ambition is admirable, it becomes abundantly clear that someone lost the plot along the way.

Despite having a presence in literature for over a century, the sci-fi western has remained a grossly overlooked genre. In recent years, except for the underrated Cowboys & Aliens, no other major venture has tried to take the risk of experimenting with the genre, which highlights its uniqueness of amalgamating the Wild West with the complexities of science fiction. Amazon Studios’ Outer Range, created by Brian Watkins, is a meticulously crafted thriller that highlights the genre’s untapped potential through a heady mix of murder mystery, family/social drama, and temporal shenanigans. The first season released a couple of years ago consisted of eight episodes, which had a lot to unpack, which is why, as the second season of Outer Range premieres this week, we would like to briefly discuss every key point viewers need to remember to get into the series with ease.
