With the start of Emmy nominations voting arriving on Thursday, campaigning has been happening everywhere, at least in and around Los Angeles.
In recent days, one could find top-tier contenders on FYC panels (Jon Stewart and the other hosts of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show flew out from New York for theirs) and roundtables (check out THR’s), at the Ross House in Mt. Olympus (even campaigning-averse Donald Glover of Mr. and Mrs. Smith showed up), at the races (Sebastian Maniscalco promoted Max’s Bookie at the Santa Anita track) and even on pizza boxes (ABC is pushing Abbott Elementary to consumers of Prime Pizza).
Many chose this moment to share positive news about their contender — for instance, Apple announced the renewal of Palm Royale for a second season. Others, curiously, elected this moment to drop bad news about their contender — HBO/Max announced the cancellation of Tokyo Vice,...

Amazon’s Fallout TV series is arguably one of the best video game adaptations we’ve ever seen. Due to show’s incredible success, many have been wondering if any other Bethesda games will make a similar leap into the world of streaming.
Of course, the top contender on everyone’s tongues is The Elder Scrolls franchise. Although Bethesda’s creative director, Todd Howard, has already shot down multiple pitches for its adaptation, there’s only one actor who can make it a reality, and that’s Henry Cavill.

IGN decided to stop Howard on the red carpet of Fallout’s LA premiere, and ask him a few interesting questions. Although the main topic of the interview was the post-apocalytpic show, the interview also asked whether Bethesda is considering adapting The Elder Scrolls series to small screens.

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is arguably one of the best RPGs of all time. The game features a fascinating world that’s full to the brim with encounters and happenings that help players craft a story of their own as they traverse through the vast Nordic lands.
One of the most striking aspects of Skyrim is the Dragons. These creatures elevate the game’s entire experience, which has led to many players labeling the game simply as a “dragon-killing power fantasy.” However, according to Bethesda’s creative director Todd Howard, Skyrim is a game more than just about dragons; it features a theme most gamers can’t even comprehend!
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is More Than a Simple Dragon-Killing Power Fantasy
Well, politics isn’t the first thing we think about when we think about Bethesda’s long-running Elder Scrolls franchise. However, that’s unless you’re Todd Howard.

Bethesda Softworks’ CEO Todd Howard is riding high on the success of the series Fallout. Based on the games of the same name, the Amazon Prime Video series was set in the same universe and was developed as an original story. The show stars Ella Purnell as Lucy, a Vault-dweller who goes to the post-apocalyptic surface in search of her father.
The show was regarded as a great adaptation of the games. Despite not particularly based on any of the games, the show had enough lore to make it part of the same universe and hence had multiple Easter Eggs for the fans. One scene that Howard insisted on keeping in the show was a scene where Lucy gets out of the Vault, which is in every game.

Among all of gaming, the Fallout series holds a special place in the heart of the gaming community. Its post-apocalyptic world has captured the community’s attention with intricate storytelling, engaging world-building, and moral choices.
The two titles that stand heads and shoulders above the rest are Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Both games offer players unique and innovative perspectives on the wasteland and its survivors. Josh Sawyer, Director of New Vegas, was also close to being part of Fallout 3 but lost the opportunity.

There’s no doubt that Bethesda’s Fallout franchise is in its Renaissance era at the moment. The franchise was propelled back into the limelight with a massively successful TV show, and Bethesda is doing everything it can to pull players, both old and new, to the wasteland, especially in Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 is by far the most crucial title in the series, and it does a lot of things correctly that other Fallout games struggle with. The game’s storyline is more compelling than Fallout 3, makes mods easily accessible, and even allows console players to mod the game. That’s not all; the game features one of the questing systems that’s been directly borrowed from The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim.

The Axis Unseen is going to be an exciting title to play. This indie horror action-adventure title doesn’t have a solid release date yet but will be launched somewhere around October 2024. The game is going to give chills in your bones when you hunt (or get hunted by) wild creatures like Bigfoot, Mothman, and Loch Ness Monster.
This game was recently presented at the Summer Game Fest a few days ago and got a brand-new gameplay trailer. However, the solo developer of the game, Nate Purkeypile, had to take some measures with the new trailer so that it could be watched by everyone.
Nate Purkeypile Had to Blur Explicit Scenes from the Axis Unseen Trailer
The Axis Unseen is going to be an M-rated game.
The upcoming title is all about brutal hunting in a heavy-metal horror setting. It’s quite natural that this game is rated as M (Mature 17+). However,...

Peter Dinklage became a force to be reckoned with at the Emmys during his tenure as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” with the actor winning four wins from eight nominations. The cast of “Game of Thrones” was so good, however, that many of them are still Emmys forces even after the show ended and they’ve moved on to different projects. Let’s take a look at the “Game of Thrones” alumni who could compete at this year’s Emmys.

Among the many challenges that Jonathan Nolan faced when adapting Bethesda’s popular Fallout video game into a television series were narrowing the massive scope of the story — and finding the perfect people to tell it through.
Unlike other video games that have gotten a live-action adaptation, Fallout is a role playing game that requires the player to make choices that may alter the course of the story. It was creators and showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet who decided on an ensemble, that way every viewer could see themselves in someone on screen.
Enter Ella Purnell as the goodie-two-shoes vault dweller Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as the morally ambiguous Maximus, and Walton Goggins as the chaotic evil Ghoul. While all three of these actors faced challenges, Moten faced the especially tedious task of always toeing a line between the angel and the devil on his shoulders.

Fallout: New Vegas was released in 2010, following the release of Fallout 3 in 2008. In such a small time gap, Obsidian, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas was only given 18 months to work on the game and finish it.
Obsidian Entertainment managed to deliver a hit in just 18 months of development. | Obsidian Entertainment
Director John Sawyer was initially criticized for playing very similar to Fallout 3, but it was a necessity; Given the limited amount of time Obsidian had to quickly make a final product. It was bound to take inspiration from its predecessors and draw along already-established lines. Irrespective of the struggle Obsidian faced, they managed to deliver one of the best Fallout games.

Fans Predict the Next League of Legends Animated Series Following Fortiche x Riot Announcement - Main Image
Arcane may be ending with its second season, but there is a silver lining for fans. That’s because the series’ co-creator revealed that more new League of Legends animated series will be made in partnership with Fortiche.
Speaking to Variety, Arcane co-creator Christian Linke said that there are still “many stories to tell” in the world of League of Legends and that Riot Games and Fortiche Productions will continue to tell them.
This is great news for fans as it means more characters and locales from the world of Runeterra will be explored. Currently, though, there’s no word on what specific stories will be adapted.
Arcane Will Officially End in Season 2

If you loved exploring the vast, magical lands of Skyrim and other Bethesda RPGs, get ready for something similarly epic. Nate Purkeypile, a former developer on multiple Bethesda games including Skyrim, is cooking up something truly unique with his new project, The Axis Unseen.

Among some of the most desired and requested sequels in the gaming landscape, there’s no doubt that one game that sits high on many gamers’ wish lists is Fallout: New Vegas 2. Obsidian Entertainment’s approach with the IP is often said to be the most influential one in the post-apocalyptic RPG series.

However, considering the massive influx the Fallout franchise is enjoying due to the success of the TV series, it’s time for Bethesda to finally give us a proper game after the disaster of Fallout 76.

X-men '97 Scores TCA Nomination For Outstanding New Program Alongside Shogun, Ripley & Baby Reindeer
The Television Critics Association announced their picks for the best shows of the 2023-2024 TV season on Monday, and in a pleasantly surprising development, Marvel Studios' recent Disney+ series, X-Men '97, picked up two significant nominations.
The animated revival scored nominations for Outstanding New Program and Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming.
Though X-Men '97 proved to be a big hit with fans and critics alike, it's rare that an animated series - and a superhero animated series at that - would receive any TCA recognition, especially outside of the Children's Programming category.
What are the mutant heroes' chances of picking up the win? Well, the show is up against some heavy hitters such as Shōgun, Baby Reindeer and Ripley, so, fittingly, they are the underdogs here.
Former showrunner Beau DeMayo shared the following post in response to the news.

For the second year in a row, three shows have topped the Television Critics Association nominations. “Baby Reindeer,” “Ripley” and “Shōgun” lead Monday’s nominations for the 40th annual awards with five bids each.
All three shows are up for Program of the Year, a category dominated by FX and Netflix. The former fielded three nominees with “Shōgun” “The Bear” and “Reservation Dogs,” while the latter is repped by “Baby Reindeer” and “Ripley.” Max’s “Hacks” is the sole non-fx and non-Netflix nominee.
Last year, “Succession,” “The Last of Us” and “The Bear” scored five nominations apiece. “Succession” and “The Bear” wound up with two wins each, with the former taking Program of the Year, but “The Last of Us” went 0-5.
After expanding to eight slots per category in 2021, TCA has reverted to six slots. No reason was given.
More curious, however, is the unprecedented double-dipping by three shows.

Prime Video’s Fallout came as a surprise for many, with new viewers not expecting this bizarre tale of violence to captivate them so much, and Og fans not even hoping for a truly faithful TV adaptation of their favorite game franchise. But Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet did it and passed all the tests with flying colors — and they don’t intend to stop now.
They have big plans for Season 2.
Fallout Season 2 to Introduce Numerous Factions
The Fallout universe is vast and impossible to cover in just one season, so while Prime Video’s TV did tackle quite a few important issues, they still have hundreds more to deal with. The Wasteland factions were one of the least elaborated aspects of Season 1, but the showrunners intend to fix this “oversight” in the next installment.

While many fans of Eric Kripke’s writing are now enjoying The Boys, as the show is about to release its fourth season, there is another group of fans, still longing for the return of The CW hit Supernatural. Even more so, they wish to see Kripke take back the creative control over the revival, leading the Winchester brothers to more adventures.
The Boys fans, on the other hand, have an opposite reaction to the idea of the show lasting for many more seasons, instead of ending at 5, like Kripke used to promise before. However, there isn’t much to fear right now. The creator doesn’t truly believe any similar show could repeat Supernatural’s success today.
Is Supernatural Season 16 in the Works?
While fans believe they have seen many different hints and clues pointing to the revival of the series, there is no official confirmation of this happening.

When Todd Howard, the mastermind behind Bethesda’s greatest hits, set out to create Starfield, he had a vision – steer clear of the usual sci-fi clichés.
In an interview, he explained how he wanted Starfield to stand apart from the polished, futuristic aesthetic typical of many sci-fi franchises, particularly Star Trek. Howard aimed to build a universe that felt lived-in and practical, very different from the sleek, pristine environments often seen in space operas.
The Difference Between Fallout and Starfield’s Aesthetic
Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion launches later this year.
Fallout is a goldmine of sci-fi tropes. Mutants roam the wasteland, survivors are camped up in underground vaults, and resources are very scarce. These elements create a gritty, harsh world that’s both captivating and familiar to fans of the genre. For Fallout 3 and 4, Howard and his team crafted a universe rich with history and detail, where every corner...

When it comes to the realm of open-world games, few studios compete against a mammoth like Bethesda. The makers of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the Fallout games went through several concepts and brainstorming sessions before coming up with industry-shaking ideas.
However, Bethesda’s executive producer, Todd Howard, has never been silent about these processes. With an all-too-familiar charm and transparency, he has spoken about how a game as large as Skyrim can often distract players from the main quest, just like a creative process that may distract developers from building a finished product.
Like Skyrim, Bethesda’s Games Distract Everyone Including the Devs Skyrim can be charmingly distracting, and the devs were well aware of this.
Back in 2016, Time interviewed Howard to gain some insight into the studio’s creative process, and its journey with Skyrim’s development. Throughout the interview, Howard spoke about how the team was often open-minded about receiving feedback,...

Throughout all episodes of Fallout Season 1, we’re learning more about Cooper Howard and his life before the Great War through his flashbacks. Once a popular actor with a loving family, he lost everything after the bombs dropped — but even two centuries later, he still remained perfectly conscious, unlike all other ghouls.
What was the Ghoul’s secret? Why didn’t he lose his personality and forget his name like his less fortunate friends? How hasn’t he gone feral after well over 200 years?
Cooper Perfectly Adapted His Cowboy Persona
The apocalypse dramatically changed Cooper Howard’s career. From a famous (and infamous) actor, he turned into the most notorious and deranged bounty hunter in the Wasteland. Two centuries later, very few people remembered or knew his real name: for most, he was simply the Ghoul, the terrifying person that’s very good at killing.

Starfield’s upcoming expansion, Shattered Space, featured its announcement trailer in the Xbox Showcase broadcast on May 9, 2024. Despite the game’s mediocre reception among fans and critics, Bethesda will not give up on it anytime soon.

The Xbox Games Showcase is one of the biggest events of the gaming calendar, and after PlayStation’s State of Play and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, it presents the last big opportunity for gamers to see what’s in store for the following couple of years, at least until Gamescom in August.
Geoff Keighley (of Summer Game Fest fame) went public with his attempt at downplaying the hype around his own showcase this year, which was a first, and with the poor showing of PlayStation, many believe this points to a bumper year for the Xbox Games Showcase.

Everyone knows "The Simpsons" has basically predicted every major cultural moment in recent history. From Disney's 2021 acquisition of Fox to Donald Trump's presidency, the long-running show has managed to prove time and again that it has its finger on the pulse of pop culture — well, at least it used to. But the show is also responsible for directly contributing to other pop culture moments, such as when Merriam-Webster added the word "Cromulent" — first used in the 1996 episode "Lisa the Iconoclast" — to the dictionary.
Another '90s episode featured the origin of a minor "Simpsons" joke that would end up enduring for decades, although in a much less conspicuous way. "Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy" is the tenth episode of the show's sixth season, and while it didn't quite make /Film's list of the 25 best "Simpsons" episodes, frankly every golden age episode could have been on that list, and this one is no different.

As time goes on, it has become increasingly clear that Fallout 3 and Oblivion probably won’t get a remaster as Skyrim did. First leaked during the FTC trial documents that were revealed back in 2023, the studio is quite busy with the new Elder Scrolls and Fallout 5 after that.
It’s got a lot on its plate, and focusing on remastering older games is probably at the bottom of its list of priorities. However, it’s also possible that other studios can handle these remasters.
Todd Howard’s Comments and the Skyrim Exception Fallout 3 is still considered one of Bethesda’s best.
Todd Howard, the mastermind behind Bethesda and these games, had an interview with Time in 2016 where he spilled some interesting details. He talked about how remastering Skyrim was kind of a one-time thing. The game got its remaster five years after its original release, which is relatively fast in gaming years.
