I am so intrigued by the FLDS. I have read Ellisa Wall's, Rachel Jeffs' and Carolyn Jessop's biographical accounts of life in the FLDS, and their eventual escape to freedom. This mini-series highlights life in the FLDS and the slow downward spiral into an already perverse agenda all designed under the guise of "religion". Men and women moved like chess pieces on a board, ordered whom they had to marry, ordered to turn over their business to the church, ordered to leave the community and have their family "reassigned" to another father/husband. People so afraid that they will end up in hell that they do everything without question. Babies being married off to elderly men. Warren Jeffs, the personification of Sodom and Gomorrah, abusing two of his underaged wives (that we know of), and living a depraved lifestyle on the lam, using FLDS donations as his currency. Most despicable is that he still acts as leader while behind bars!
I would have liked to learn what happened to the girls that had been abused. Are they still following the cult?
What I also would have liked to learn is how the US government has not shut this whole business down. I hear that polygamy invites welfare fraud and other tax abuses. Never mind what might still be going on with innocent children in the confines of the FLDS compound.
