Tickets are now on sale for Deadpool & Wolverine, and Fandango recently caught up with director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to learn more about this long-awaited team-up.
The filmmaker started by addressing the threequel's R-Rating, explaining why it was important to keep the movie in line with Wade Wilson's previous big screen adventures.
"We were clear from the get-go. We said, 'Well, the three of us are going to do this and we've got to be truthful to the tone of a Deadpool movie.' That means we're not softening the edges," Levy said. "We're going to be audacious and funny and edgy, the way I know I, as a fan, want from Logan and from Wade Wilson."
"I have to say, every time Ryan, Hugh, and I went in expecting pushback, we got support from Kevin, from everyone at Disney. They have trusted us...

One of the projects that made sure got the push to completion after the strikes had settled last year was Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel made sure that their much-hyped sequel to the popular Deadpool franchise would make its release this summer. Hugh Jackman’s return to the role and donning the iconic yellow costume is enough of a reason that got fans excited, and Jackman himself couldn’t believe it took this long to get to wear the comic-inspired suit. “We almost did it in The Wolverine,” Jackman said. “But from the moment I put it on here, I was like, ‘How did we never do this?’ It looked so right, it felt so right. I was like, ‘That’s him.’ There are different sides of Wolverine we haven’t seen before in the movies. It was exciting for me.“

Superhero movies are more popular than ever, even though many high-profile directors and actors often criticize them for lacking artistic value. In reality, most viewers aren’t seeking deep artistic experiences when picking a movie; they’re looking for entertainment.
This is clearly reflected in our next list. Over 30,000 fans on Ranker voted for their favorite superhero movies of all time. The list features plenty of action, comedy, and all the expected favorites. Let’s find out which movie received the most votes.
10. ‘Deadpool’ (2016)
The first ‘Deadpool’ movie garnered massive attention for several reasons. It stood out from typical superhero films with its blend of action, comedy, and irreverence. The R-rating allowed for a mature and unrestricted portrayal, resonating well with adult audiences. Ryan Reynolds’ performance as Deadpool was widely praised, with many fans feeling he was born for the role.

We've been hearing rumbling this week about tickets for Deadpool & Wolverine going on sale tomorrow, but Ryan Reynolds has finally confirmed it with a fun - and very literal - new poster.
With the threequel still over two months away, Marvel Studios is clearly keen to gauge interest in the movie. Recent weeks have seen us get a trailer, magazine covers, and a lot of stills, so now is probably a good time to start selling tickets.
Rumour has it that another sneak peek will also drop tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see whether it features a huge reveal meant to further increase excitement for the Merc with the Mouth and Logan's long-awaited team-up.
If nothing else, we'd expect the usual posers from companies like IMAX, 4Dx, and RealD 3D. Neither Reynolds nor the official Deadpool social media accounts have confirmed an on-sale time for tickets, so you'll...

Not exactly the opening weekend that dreams are made of.
Director John Krasinski’s “If,” a fantasy-comedy that promises your imaginary friends from childhood are real, fell slightly short of box office expectations with $35 million. Heading into the weekend, “If” was expected to bring in at least $40 million in its first weekend of release. Based on Friday’s turnout, it looked like “If” would open to $30 million but projections were revised up after Saturday’s strong showing. Ticket sales were enough for first place, but it’s a wobbly start for a PG family film that cost $110 million to make and many millions more to market. It collected an additional $20 million overseas for a global total of $55 million.
The good news for Paramount Pictures, which distributed “If,” is that audiences dug the film, giving it an “A” CinemaScore. Ideally, it’ll have staying power like recent original kid-friendly movies, including “Migration” and “Elemental,...

2024's box office got off to a rough start, and the big boost that's typically expected in the summer has yet to materialize. John Krasinski's "If," a fantasy film about retired imaginary friends that combines live action and animation, is the latest release to debut to underwhelming numbers. Deadline reports that "If" is on track to gross $30.5 million in its opening weekend, which is at the bottom end of projections.
That's not a disaster for "If" itself, which had a relatively constrained $110 million budget. It's a bigger start than the more-expensive action comedy flick "The Fall Guy" managed a couple of weeks ago. And while "If" may not have impressed critics (its Rotten Tomatoes score is 50% as of this writing), it received an A CinemaScore from opening night exit polls, indicating that general audiences feel more warmly about it. Original movies are always a tough sell at the box office,...

The X-Men have slowly been taking over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether through the upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine or X-Men ’97. Cyclops in X-Men ’97
There have been many actors whom fans have wanted to see take up the role. Ever since the Ryan Reynolds film was announced, the possibility of the X-Men expanding has been growing manifolds. So the opportunity of casting the perfect actor for the role of the cheery and energetic Scott Summers is not one fans want to miss out on. While Glen Powell felt like the top contender in their point of view, there is another actor who could take the spot.

Last year’s Barbenheimer was hailed as saving cinema. Now takings are down and even franchises are falling flat. Can Hollywood manoeuvre itself out of this disaster zone?
In Hollywood, the first weekend of May is traditionally seen as the official kick-off of the summer movie season: an auspicious blockbuster date that has, of late, become rather a boring one.
Since 2007, when Spider-Man 3 (three full cycles ago in that deathless franchise) topped the box office – and barring two years where the global pandemic threw the mainstream release schedule into disarray – that weekend has been the exclusive domain of Marvel superhero adaptations, through to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 claiming the No 1 spot last May. That stranglehold was set to continue this year, with the legacy-milking superhero mash-up comedy Deadpool & Wolverine scheduled for a 3 May release. It doubtless would have creamed the competition, too, had last year’s...

After a busy couple of weeks which saw us getting almost daily Deadpool & Wolverine updates, it's been all quiet lately. Yes, there's a rumoured runtime floating around (we've heard it's inaccurate) but that's really been it.
Now, though, Marvel Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes still showing director Shawn Levy and stars Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) on the threequel's Time Variance Authority set.
Those colourful costumes pop and, yet again, there's no sign of Logan's mask. It's either only in Deadpool & Wolverine for a scene or two or it's been decided that covering Jackman's face in marketing materials isn't a wise move.
"Everyone assumed that Hugh's return was the result of me or Ryan pestering or pitching him relentlessly," Levy recently said of Jackman's return as Wolverine. "But even more miraculously, this was the result of a Hugh Jackman epiphany. He wanted to do...

“Jaws” in 1975 is remembered as the movie that birthed the summer global blockbuster; its many children include “Star Wars,” Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Top Gun,” “Ghostbusters,” “Ghost,” “Twister,” “The Lion King,” “Independence Day,” “Speed,” and “Men in Black.” Today, that bloodline is threatened with extinction.
On the surface, that seems ridiculous — summer box office is still defined by blockbusters — but today that means sequels. It’s become exceedingly rare for studios to invest over $100 million in a summer movie with an original screenplay that’s not already part of a franchise. That’s what makes Paramount Pictures’ $110 million “If” such an outlier.
Still, being that exception also hands writer-director John Krasinski a double-edged sword. Those original blockbusters — all released between 1975-1999 — ended up with domestic gross totals, in 2024 ticket price terms, of over $400 million. Consensus on opening weekend for “If” has been around $40 million,...

A possible runtime for Marvel Studios' Deadpool and Wolverine has been revealed, and if accurate, it would make the Merc With a Mouth's MCU debut the longest Deadpool movie yet.
According to an AMC Theatres listing, Deadpool and Wolverine will clock-in at 2 hours and 7 minutes. The previous film ran for 2 hours, while the first Deadpool was quite a bit shorter at 1 hour, 48 minutes.
In addition, some new international promo banners have found their way online. They reuse the images from previously-released posters, but pull back to let us see a little more of Wade Wilson and Logan.

But after The Fantastic Four serves as Marvel’s big summer blockbuster there will be Blade, with Mahershala Ali in the title role, taking over one of Wesley Snipes’ signature characters. But will Snipes step in for a cameo?
This week, Wesley Snipes responded to an article that reported that he was “already signed to do some stuff” in next year’s Blade by writing, “Whuhuuuut?” along with the side eye emoji.

The X-Men have always been some of the most prominent characters in the Marvel comics, even though their film-based adaptations after Logan were not that kindly received by fans. However, with the recently released titular smash-hit animated series and the sequel of the original series from 1992 on these mutants, this band of heroes just may be reclaiming their lost position.

Adding to this are Hugh Jackman and other actors from the movies returning to reprise their iconic mutants in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, which further paves the way for even more actors from the original saga to return. That said, Shawn Ashmore, who played Iceman in the original film series, has expressed his wish to join the Marvel Universe as well.

There's no denying that Ryan Reynolds and Tj Miller had tremendous chemistry in the first two Deadpool films but sadly, their off-screen friendship didn't last long.
It appears that Miller, who's been embroiled in a string of controversies has some serious bone to pick with his former co-star, and in a new interview, he lambasted Reynolds' change of behavior following the Merc with a Mouth's mainstream triumph.

Marvel recently announced the return of mutant pop princess Dazzler in a four-part comic book series where she embarks on a world tour, joined by her fellow mutants Domino, Strong Guy, Multiple Man, Shark Girl, and Wind Dancer.
While welcomed by fans, the timing of the announcement and the choice of mutant to highlight in the new X-Men era From the Ashes is odd, considering speculations of Dazzler’s appearance in the upcoming blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverine, with no less than the global pop superstar Taylor Swift rumoured to play Alison Blaire.
Dazzler writer Jason Loo also teases fans to "get ready to sing along to some new, original songs off of her new album! Some of them may be about her exes."

Zac Efron may have risen to prominence after starring in the High School Musical trilogy, but he's since reinvented himself in a big way.
Shedding the "frat boy" persona movies like Neighbors and Dirty Grandpa later labelled him with, the actor has shown a darker, far more serious side in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and The Iron Claw. Now, all eyes are on what Efron does next.
If a new rumour shared by @MyTimeToShineH is to be believed, then it could be a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
We don't have any news on who he'll play, though there are plenty of possibilities. Recently, there have been rumours about Marvel Studios finally moving forward with a Nova TV series, and while the focus is expected to be on Sam Alexander, Efron would arguably make a perfect Richard Rider.

"Madame Web," released on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, frustrated audiences everywhere with its bizarre scripting, its lack of action, its weirdly unmotivated villain, and its staunch refusal to depict its lead characters actually turning into the superheroines they were destined to become. The title character was Cassandra Webb (Dakota Johnson) a New York paramedic in 2003 who discovers she has clairvoyant powers. She traces the origin of her powers back to her birth in the Amazon rainforests, where a rare, mystical spider bit her pregnant mother. Her powers also bring her inexplicably into the company of three New York teenagers who will all become Spider-Women someday -- but not in this film.
Chasing the quartet is Spider-Man (Tahar Rahim), or rather an evil precursor to Spider-Man who has the same super-strength, the same costume, the same wall-crawling powers, and who shares Madame Web's talent for clairvoyance. He has seen a...

Ryan Reynolds might do all the cool action-packed stunts and iconic scenes with Hugh Jackman in his upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, but back at home, he’s just a father of four kids, who definitely doesn’t want to be a single dad. Speaking with Today, the actor disclosed his experience of spending some solo time with his kids.

While his wife, Blake Lively, took a much-deserved trip to Las Vegas with Taylor Swift, Ryan Reynolds mentioned taking care of his children and humorously noted the challenges of being a single dad. Famously known for his witty humor and sarcastic remarks, Reynolds then discussed how he kept his kids occupied.

The rumor that Wesley Snipes could once again return as the vampire-slaying Blade is not new. We reported on it last year. However, the possibility of a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine didn’t get a reaction from the actor until recently.

It’s no secret that sequel films typically send people running to movie theater seats. They’re a safe bet for a studio like Walt Disney — if audiences loved an original film, they’re sure to enjoy a new adventure with the same charismatic characters and the addition of some new ones (preferably one that can be turned into profitable theme park plushies). For better or worse, Disney has boarded the sequel train and doesn’t seem to be hopping off anytime soon. For the next solid three years, the studio has multiple sequel projects slated to drop — ranging anywhere between the second and fifth film of a franchise. While it can be nice to revisit fan-favorite universes like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Toy Story,’ there’s also a major demand for Disney to return to their original storytelling roots. Walt Disney himself was incredibly opposed to sequels, saying he always had...

It is that time of the month again when rumors and theories regarding the MCU are created and spread on the internet. This time, it’s about Avengers: Secret Wars. With reports that the film will include two legendary superheroes to lead the Avengers, it might seem like good news at first. However, things might not be too good for the heroes!
A still of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame (2019)
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe especially calling these two legendary actors and their equally legendary heroic characters into the fold, it seems that the Avengers might be in danger. Well, who better to make the sacrificial lamb than two retiring heroes who might have run their course? But who are these heroes anyway? Sad to say, these two legendary actors and heroes are the ones that we know and love, and maybe, Secret Wars might be the end of their characters!

John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds teamed up together to create an iconic movie titled If which could have been quite an interesting tale. With Emily Blunt, Steve Carrell, and, Awkwafina joining the cast, the movie had great potential, but something turned out to be missing.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the biggest franchises of all time. Having started with Iron Man, the MCU has recently been witnessing a decline in quality despite an abundance of quantity. Ever since the Avengers: Endgame and the exit of major actors and characters, Marvel Studios has failed to live up to its prior hype and image.

Ryan Reynolds is probably one of the few actors out there with zero haters. From his onscreen characters to his banter with his wife Blake Lively, there is absolutely nothing we don’t love about him. MCU has had it’s up and downs in the last couple of years, but despite that, it’s still the most successful franchise of all times. What started out as a single movie released in 2008 over the course of 16 years grew into the largest cinematic universe to date which includes both live-action movies, and TV Shows.

While promoting his latest movie, ‘Mad Max: Furiosa’ Chris Hemsworth talked about the trend of trashing MCU movies and superhero movies in general. Hemsworth is lining high-profile roles in recent years, but his most popular so far remains the MCU one,...

Over the past few years, the MCU has experienced its share of highs and lows. Yet, despite these fluctuations, it remains the most successful franchise of all time. What began as a single movie in 2008 has evolved over 16 years into the expansive cinematic universe we know today, spanning both live-action films and TV shows.
However, despite its remarkable success, there’s been a noticeable trend among prominent directors to critique the MCU and superhero films in general. Renowned figures such as Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and Francis Ford Coppola have openly ridiculed the premises and executions, arguing that superhero movies lack the essence of true cinema.
During the promotion of his latest film, ‘Mad Max: Furiosa’, Chris Hemsworth addressed the prevailing trend of criticizing MCU and superhero films at large. Despite landing high-profile roles in recent years, Hemsworth’s most iconic portrayal remains that of the God of Thunder within the MCU,...

Monday Am: These apes are going to need a bigger boat for their cash that is as 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes came in over expectations with a $58.5M opening. Sunday came in at $16.5M, down 19%, a strong attributable to Mother’s Day. Who knew moms were fans of the Planet of the Apes movies? Typical Mother’s Day Saturday to Sunday drops are around the -28% range.
That’s now the third highest opening for an Apes movie after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes ($72.6M) and Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes ($68.5M). Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes only cost $160M, which is cheaper than Matt Reeves’ War for the Planet of the Apes which cost $190M before P&a. As we said yesterday, there’s hope for summer in a movie that can beat its tracking projections. Not everything...

At 34 years of age, Daniel Radcliffe boasts of being a household name. The actor’s decade-long stint with the Harry Potter franchise launched him from an aspiring child star to one of the world’s highest-paid actors. However, he is far from done yet and his active career has taken him far and wide with many roles coming off several productions as well as fan casts and theories pitching him right at the gates of the hottest current genre – comic book movies with Marvel and DC fans eyeing him for popular roles.
Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter
Contrary to these storming topics around him, the star, however, may have other plans. While he has not spoken out formally about such fan casts, his latest comments could hint at his thoughts. At a time when both the live-action superhero production houses are moving through pivotal phases and locking in actors for key characters,...

X-Men '97's season 1 finale, "Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 3," arrives Disney+ on Wednesday and former showrunner Beau DeMayo has shared one last "homework assignment" for fans.
As you can see below (via Toonado.com), he's suggested we track down the X-Men: The Animated Series episode "The Final Decision".
In that, Magneto kidnaps Senator Kelly to start a war between humans and mutants. Sentinels made out of plastic then attack, rescuing the politician and leaving the X-Men to rescue a badly injured Master of Magnetism.
Bolivar Trask and Master Mold also factor into the episode, with the X-Men and Magneto working to destroy the latter and get Kelly back from Trask (who planned to replace his mind with a robot). The incident changes Kelly's mind about mutants and the episode ends with Mister Sinister watching Scott Summers and Jean Grey getting engaged.
Could that be when the villain swapped Jean with his clone?...

Updated: Primates ruled over the North American box office, as “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” collected $58.5 million in its first weekend of release.
That’s ahead of Sunday’s estimates of $56.8 million and enough to score the third-best opening of the year behind “Dune: Part Two” ($82 million) and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” ($80 million).
Inaugural sales for “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” landed above early projections of $50 million to $55 million and towered over the nonexistent competition. “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” opened roughly even with two of the three prior installments in the rebooted franchise, landing behind only 2014’s “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (a series-best $72 million) and ahead of 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes” ($56.2 million) and 2011’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” ($54.8 million).
“The weekend figure is roughly average for the genre, but average here...

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently the most anticipated MCU project, it’s the only MCU movie releasing this year, and for a good reason. The studio wants to restore some of the faith that fans used to have in the franchise and set up something huge with Deadpool.
We know that the movie will have a massive number of cameos and variants, more than 20 at this point have been either rumored or confirmed. While the actors rumored to appear in the movie are mostly playing coy and avoiding answering the questions, Chris Hemsworth had a hilarious reaction.
During this year’s CinemaCon exclusive ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ footage was shown, near the end of the footage Thor can be seen crying over Deadpool’s dead body and Matthew McFadden’s Mr. Paradox tells him, “That happens in the distant future.”
The footage used in the clip was probably the footage from...
