- GoofsAt the beginning of the episode, Sheldon is using a ping pong ball-shooting gun to do a gravity experiment. He has the gun clamped in a bench vise, aimed up at a doll (The Joker from Batman) hanging from a ceiling rafter. A close-up shot clearly shows the gun pointing upwards as Sheldon squeezes the trigger. Then a wide shot shows the gun clamped horizontally as it shoots the ping pong ball at the doll as the doll is falling to the floor. The next shot shows the gun, clamped in the bench vise, pointing up in the air again.

[Pastor Jeff is mediating a fight between Meemaw, Mary and their neighbor Brenda]
Pastor Jeff: Ladies! Do I need to remind you that we are Christians? In all our behavior, in all our actions, we must constantly ask ourselves the question: "What would Jesus do?"
Meemaw: Can I say something?
Pastor Jeff: Would Jesus say it?
Meemaw: [pause] Never mind.

A Dog, a Squirrel, and a Fish Named Fish
This episode goes in for a few fairly standard sitcom type plots (the warring neighbours, a dog) but manages on the whole to put a new and fairly interesting twist on them.
I'm really enjoying lots of elements of this show, and feel that by this stage of the first series the writers have done a good job of making it feel like an ensemble piece that Sheldon just happens to be at the centre of, rather than it being all on his head. We know what happens when a spin-off is all on one persons head after all (hi 'Joey').
It's not one of the better episodes, but it's warm and its engaging, and that goes a long way.
