Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
I think a lot of people don't really get this movie
I definitely don't think it's better than the first. The first movie was pretty good and this one is decent. It does have some comedic moments here and there and here it is darker and a little more depressing. I liked Flamel and Depp did a good job playing someone who was persuasive and creepy at the same time like he usually is. It was however a little confusing and convoluted. There was a plot but not as detailed as the first one. It was all trying to get Credence and each had their own reasons for wanting to get to him which I found interesting but it's not that bad guys.
I can tell the plot here isn't going to be as big as the first because this movie is really supposed to be filler for the next movie they are going to make a trilogy. Jacob was still good but he wasn't as useful as he was in the first one and was just kind of there for the ride. Overall, it wan't too bad.
Hunter Killer (2018)
Entertaining movie. I don't get it, why is it hated so much?
It's weird because the people who do hate it hardly mention WHY it's stupid. Just that it's stupid. And that it's a propaganda film? Really? Is that what people got out of this? The russians weren't evil, they were led by an evil minister and they weren't incompetent why the great americans saved everyone. The russians on the side of the president helped win the fight here and they made peace? And why are people comparing it to Red October? It doesn't make any sense. It's not even the same kind of movie, other than having russians and submarines. I do wish there was more character development with some of the crew and seals teams but what I saw, I saw a pretty good movie. Entertaining and kept you on the edge of the seat. There were a few moments that were kind of hard to believe, but, like with Independence Day, this is where you will need to turn your brain off sometimes. I feel like people's complaints aren't really valid complaints, just whiny nit picks. I thought it was a pretty good movie.
It (1990)
Great as far as adaptations go
This is a classic. I remember reading the book and watching the TV version and both were pretty scary. This adaptation deserves a much higher rating. If people are gonna complain about it just because it's not EXACTLY like the book, then that's stupid. Yeah the book is overall better, but as far as adaptations go, this one was pretty damn good and scared the crap out of me when I first saw it. I would recommend this movie to anyone who really wants to be scared. 'Course it might make you afraid of clowns for a while. Strangely enough I'm not afraid of clowns after watching this. Still I believe if you ignore the fact that there are some differences between the book and the TV adaptation you might enjoy it more.
Dragonball Evolution (2009)
It's not a movie...it's an abomination.
OK, I thought it was gonna be bad when I watched it but man...I didn't know it was gonna be THIS bad. Why did they make this? Did they even watched the anime series or read the comic?? Even the title isn't good. Evolution? Evolution to what? What's evolving? The only thing they got right was their names and the fact that there's 7 Dragon Balls. That's it. Everything else is seriously screwed up. I know movie adaptations are always gonna be a little different from the original in some way. (A character did something in the movies he didn't do in the original and vice versa, settings might be a little different, characters might have different personalities), but THIS was almost completely different from the original. At least they had Master Roshi have a porn magazine, even though he didn't really act like a pervert Bulma acted like a super spy than a geeky girl, Yamcha was a jerk. (I know he was a jerk in the original too, but he was likable) He also looked like a frigging drag queen. Chi Chi was just stupid, plain and simple. Piccolo was a vampire. I know he wasn't literally but he may as well be, since he didn't look anything like Piccolo, who had green skin and antennae. He looked like a vampire straight from the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is weird since Jame Marsters played one too. Except here, he looked gayer. As for Goku, his hair could have at least been black. Where was his tail? Why did he turn into a half werewolf half monkey instead of a REAL Oozaru? This one was big, but the real one is supposed to be the size of Godzilla. And where was Krillin, Tien and Chioutzu??? Why did Goku trip out every time he saw a Dragon Ball? As far as I know you don't see visions when you look into a Dragon Ball. The camera work was awful and disorienting and the plot felt really rushed. I must point that out that half of the time I had no idea what was going on. Why were there 7 mystics that created the Dragon Balls? I thought it was one guy, and he wasn't even human. I'm talking about Kami of course. There are just SO many things wrong with this movie that is is physically impossible for me to list everything wrong with this god forsaken piece of poop. Even if it wasn't based on Dragon Ball, it'd still suck because of the clichés, the stupid plot, the bad actors, etc. This film will steal your soul and take a dump on it, even if you're not a fan of the series. It was especially painful since I am a big fan of the Dragon Ball series. I kinda regret seeing this but I had to see it to see if it truly did suck. And it did. The fans were right.
Dragon Ball (1995)
It's much better than people give it credit for
It isn't just filled with sex jokes or Dragon Ball hunts. Only idiots will think of that without watching the rest of the series. It has comedy, drama and action all rolled into one. And it pulls it off effectively. At first there weren't that many villains. They had Emperor Pilaf, but he wasn't nearly as threatening as the others that would come. Goku really had to test himself against the Red Ribbon Army. Then he REALLY had to test himself by fighting the all powerful King Piccolo. Mostly they had to go through tournaments, which don't appear very often in DBZ. This is basically a much tamer version of DBZ.
In some ways it is better than DBZ. While not having as much action, it's much funnier. They are also not insanely powerful as they are on DBZ, and everyone is useful in this series. Even Chouzu and Yajirobe. That's because everyone's power level was kind of similar. In DBZ, some characters are WAY stronger than some other characters, and that makes the other character almost useless. Still it was enjoyable, like this series. It doesn't waste too much time with transformations or power ups, so if you don't like that kind of thing, go ahead and watch this series.
Eight Crazy Nights (2002)
What's wrong with this movie?
Seriously, what's wrong with you people? So what if Adam Sandler plays a bunch of other people? It was still very entertaining. This movie was beautifully animated and had pretty funny scenes. The songs were pretty catchy too. If you think this has a lot of toilet humor, then you haven't seen nothing yet. There are movies with a hell of a lot more toilet humor than this. And there are holiday movies far worse than this. There's nothing wrong with toilet humor anyways. It's only bad if they overdo it, and to me, they didn't overdo it in this movie. You people who don't like it are all acting like this is Adam Sandler's worse movie ever and you're wrong. It does have pretty good comedy, and it's nice to see a holiday movie with a little more adult humor for a change.
It also shows why real people might be grumpy around the holidays. ( Like Davey Stone hearing about his parents killed on Chanukah). And it shows that people in real life can really be mean to one another for no more reason then the way the look or sound or act. (Like Whitey for example). This movie has it's morals and comedy and it can even be a little sad sometimes. Seeing Davey go from a real good kid to a real jackass was kind of sad to see. Luckily, he realizes that it's not right to do what he's doing and he changes his ways. I just wish I can see people in real life change their ways, too.
The bottom line is, this is a good movie. I don't know why it got such a low rating. It's just appalling. Like Mr. Chan would say " Sound to me like you are all on crack! " In my opinion, that was his best line ever. Anyways, see this movie!
Dragon Ball Z (1996)
Maybe the best anime ever.
This is one anime you don't want to miss! It's has such a unique blend of action and comedy, that it's no wonder it's so popular. I think DBZ haters need to give it a friggin' chance before they bad mouth it. It's not just some guy's fighting other guys in space. It's much more than that if you actually watch the show. This had many classic moments.
Vegeta Saga: When Goku was fighting the evil Saiyan prince Vegeta. Man, that was an awesome fight! I loved it when Vegeta turned into a Great Ape and nearly beat Goku. And then Goku used a Spirit Bomb on him...but it wasn't enough. Gohan turned into a Great Ape and finally beat Vegeta. Beaten, but not killed, Vegeta runs and vows to get his revenge! That was a great battle.
Freiza Saga. Goku turning into a Super Saiyan was beautiful. And Goku fighting Freiza on Namek when it's about to explode in five minutes was one of the most dramatic parts in Dragon Ball Z. This was a pretty long saga, too. Freiza being beaten by Goku was great! Cell Saga: This introduced Trunks and all of the Saiyans turned into Super Saiyans. Gohan turning into a Super Saiyan 2 incredible. His power was finally unleashed and defeated the monster from the future, Cell! Truly a great saga.
Majin Buu Saga: Goten and Kid Trunks were introduced, and the Supreme Kai was involved as well. One of the greatest battles here when Majin Vegeta and Goku fought as Super Saiyan 2's. Wizards and magic were involved in this saga. he birth of Gotenks and Vegito was unbelievable . And of course, the final battle against Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Kid Buu was amazing! One of the greatest fights ever in DBZ! I love other animes like Dragon Ball Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho, but this is my favorite anime series by far! Watch it and see what I mean.
Captain N: The Game Master (1989)
Not bad, but still a huge downer
I never actually saw the show, I only heard about it until I saw it on the internet. I heard mixed reviews for it. Some good, some bad. When I actually saw it I was kinda disappointed. It was just too different. Although the plot was pretty good. This story was about Kevin Keene and his dog, Duke, getting sucked into video land because Princess Lana and the others need their help defending it from the evil forces of Mother Brain. The plot was good, but the characters and the way they were portrayed wasn't very good. And sometimes the shows were kinda corny, if you ask me.
The good guys consist of Kevin, Duke, Princess Lana, Simon Belmont, Mega Man, Kid Icarus, Gameboy and a number of other characters like Link, Princess Zelda, and many more. Kevin was decent. I liked his Zapper and his belt he always wore. Duke was OK, not spectacular, but he was useful sometimes. Princess Lana, ( Is it just me or does EVERYONE think she's hot because whenever I see Princess Lana, I always manage to see some dude saying " She's hot! " I'll admit, she is kinda hot). Princess Lana was a good character. Kevin liked her more than a friend, but then again, so did Simon and they often competed for her affection. Princess Lana obviously likes Kevin more, and for good reason, since he's not a vain, narcissist wimp like Simon Belmont. Which reminds me, Simon disappointed me a lot. He was tall, dark and like I said earlier, a vain, narcissist wimp. That's not how he was in the games, because in the games, he was cool and he was a brave fighting character. Kid Icarus was kinda annoying since he said " icus " at almost every sentence. His appearance and weapons weren't too bad though. Mega Man annoyed the crap out of me by saying " mega " almost every time. ( As if hearing Kid Icarus saying " icus " wasn't bad enough). Mega Man was short, had green armor and he sounded like he smoked 1 cigarette too many. And don't say he wore that green armor just because he was portrayed badly in the early game's cover art. Sure, the cover art for Mega Man 1 sucked balls, but he was NEVER short and he was NEVER green. He should look like he is today. And Gameboy was perhaps the worst of them all. A walking talking advertisement that made the most annoying sounds that ever existed. I mean, Gameboy wasn't even a video game character like the others, so the only reason they added him was because Nintedo was trying to see their product. Link and Princess Zelda however looked and acted good.
The neutral characters consisted of many others like Donkey Kong and Dracula. (Though Dracula sometimes joined the bad guys side). Donkey Kong looked damn stupid with that shower cap on, or whatever that was. He was alright, since he attacked both the good guys and bad guys. Dracula AKA The Count looked really stupid. He had a yellow outfit and he looked like Micheal Jackson with a mullet. That's not the Dracula I know! I just didn't like him much.
The bad guys consisted of Mother Brain, Eggplant Wizard, King Hippo and Dr. Wily. Mother Brain looked really weird. I thought she would be a big brain with 1 eye and that's it. She was alright, but not great. Eggplant Wizard looked kinda decent. He was a little sheepish, but alright. King Hippo was a little more different than I thought. He had the right body type, and the boxing gloves, but for some reason he had blue skin and he had small fangs. Is King Hippo undead or something?! Look at him! It's just stupid. They could've at the very least give him his human looking skin back. Dr. Wily looked weird. He was pretty small and had a big head, but generally, he looked OK. He should have looked like the Dr. Wily in the Mega Man series. And he sounded German for some reason. Ganon looked pretty damn awesome, if I do say so myself.
Anyways, that's what I thought of the show. It's not a complete piece of crap, but if could've been so much better if the people actually made the characters look better. I think they should correct their mistakes and make a new Captain N: The Game Master. Hopefully it'll be much better than this one.
