Stillwater (2021)
Excellent
Matt Damon's best performance. He completely and authentically inhabits the character. And Abigail Breslin was fantastic. I enjoyed the story and pace, which held my interest throughout. Knowing very little about Marseille, I definitely got the feeling it's no longer the city it was, having changed drastically demographically. The town just seemed very sad and in decline.
All in all, it is a solid and engaging film.
Brimstone (2016)
Well made
Very well made film and the cinematography is some of the best I've ever seen. Repugnant subject matter and depicts the worst misogyny I've ever seen - worse than The Handmaid's Tale, Mad Men etc. The movie depicts violence, cruelty, and sadism toward women and animals; two things at the top of my list that I hate. That said, I don't judge a movie on the subject matter but rather all the elements of film. The acting was incredible and while it's hard to believe anyone could ever endure what all the female characters did, I've no doubt there's some very real truth behind it, even today, and therefore didn't find the subject matter far fetched.
Deep Water (2022)
Awful
A mess of a movie. I had it on while online doing other things. It was almost too bad to have on as background noise. The director clearly has women cheating on their husband issues and is airing them through filmmaking. The viewer is never privy to any kind of backstory. Ben Affleck walked through this role and needs to seek out other roles instead of the poor perfect husband with the whore of a wife roles. Don't waste your valuable time on this disaster of a movie.

Excellent
Excellent writing, character development, story telling, and acting, particularly by Dawn Olivieri, the character of Claire, and the great Sam Elliot. Beautiful cinematography and score. I enjoyed the cameos by Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Hanks. The migration west after the Civil War is one of my favorite periods in history, and the brutality of the time period and lawlessness of the Wild West was accurately portrayed.
