Elvis (2022)
Human electricity
Baz goes to the core of the power, that is Elvis. Elvis supernatual power of electrifing his audience. Elvis had animal magnatism and pure charisma, admired by both women and men!
The acting, story telling, emotional journey, pure talent; Is all there, captured on the big screen.
The king! Lives on, through this film and I hope you can appreciate the effort gone into making this movie. Austin Butler captures the core of Elvis so well. Perfect choice in handsome looks and mannerisms. The director needs to win the oscar for this movie! The stage performances by Austin is pure gold in capturing Elvis when he was on stage. It's a reminder of the powerful and all consuming performance Elvis gave each time.
When one gets a emotional reaction/response from a movie, you know the movie has done its job.
Take tissues with you, you are going to need it for the ending.
Best biopic I have ever seen. 11/10.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Clichè
What is all the hype about? Predictable, seen it all before, formula.
Nothing new here. Slow burner of a movie. Last ten minutes of entertainment.
All the rest is just time filler for that last ten minutes.
Cannot believe the higher than average ratings this movie is getting.
Must be an indicator of how much we have been deprived in the movie department for the last two years!!
All the ratings above seven seem at odds with what is on the screen and the story telling.
I love Tom Cruise movies but this one is not up there with the best of them. Sorry Tom. I obviously am in the minority on this view.
Dune (2021)
Created for a sequel
From The very beginning the story is dragged along, to the point where you realise this is designed for a sequel. The build up with an anti-climax sums up the movie. Obviously part two will be more entertaining, one can hope.
Very long movie with lots of time wasted with drawn out sequences to extend time of movie, also oblivious.
One can also see. Prequel being an option. Much more of the story could have been captured in the allocated time.
Cinderella (2015)
best family movie so far this year!!
Enchanting and blissful. Pure magic film making. Leave your mundane everyday life at home. Enter into the world of innocence and enchantment. Every actor/actress played their role perfectly. Small details of importance add to the story and gives it life. This would have to be the first modern classic of a Grimms fairytale in my view. Nothing was over done or too extravagant. I felt emotional through out the movie going through each experience with Ella. She was pure delight and the perfect actress was chosen to play her. Each emotional journey I was there with her and feeling her pain and joy. Very rarely have I experienced this from a movie. The whole atmosphere of the movie built up every critical scene to truly capture the innocence of a child brought up in a loving home with loving parents. The message of "always be kind and courageous" set the foundation of the movie and it was a good positive message for children to see and feel. I give this movie a 8.5 out of 10. Go and watch this movie if you can!
Interstellar (2014)
fractured plot, fractured story telling
this is the first movie review I have written. I do not understand what is happening to IMDb. I cannot believe how this movie gets a 9! Too many familiar actors playing roles that do not suit. Leave your brain at home when watching this movie. If you think too hard about the probabilities.....pure Hollywood big budget mediocre movie. All the money has gone to CGI. So many incidents are so unbelievable that you give up on caring for the characters. this is a silly movie (eg. a robot that is made of flat panels and is square shape but can move on water!!!!) with very little going for it. do not be fooled into thinking this is a good movie by word of mouth read as many reviews as you can.
