If you're a Rick & Morty fan you'll love this its like a interdimensional cable side series But they could do a series on the Wall alone

I really like Justin Roiland's brand of absurdist sci-fi comedy.
Solar Opposites is the spiritual continuation of Rick and Morty's cultural footprint and its more streamlined style of storytelling makes this show a nice juxtaposition to Roiland's Adult Swim smash hit. Though some of the storytelling and character archetypes may be too similar to Rick and Morty's cast, rest assured Solar Opposites' cast gives a more alien perspective to Earth's very human culture.

This is a family sitcom rather than an existential black comedy which Rick and Morty's managed to pull off so well: but these aliens still possess it's predecessor's irreverent humour and energy all the same. Hopefully these two shows will crossover in the not-too distant future and we'll see how Rick and Korvo are two analogies for one another whilst having radically different ideas over the same stuff relevant to them.

This is a nice beginning to something new and fresh, and this may be Justin Roiland's chance to broaden his creative horizons even further.

Interdimensional Cable
Lenaj848 May 2020
Its like Rick and Morty choose a channel on interdimensional cable and now we're watching a full season of whatever the freak this is. It crude, weird, disgusting humor and barely make since. I like it.

Honestly, This is sad to hear.

Other reviews I've read have been saying the wall story is so much more interesting and better than the actual show. I'll admit the wall story is very interesting and has a great concept. But I watch Solar Opposites because of the entire show. It's fun, crazy, over the top, and just great. I wouldn't say this show is underrated, but it isn't given enough credit for the great show it is. Keep watching, because it's worth it.

Really like this

Yes the wall parts are the best bits but in honesty it is all pretty dam good. The fans aren't as unbearable as the constantly butthurt Rick & Morty fans either which is a good thing. Also you don't have to wait 3 years between seasons. My only minor complaint with it is Korvo sounds too much like Rick but I can live with that.

Sci-F . . . unny.
robo-8301714 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As you might expect from the co-creator of Rick and Morty (Justin Roiland) this show is just chock-full of good, funny and strange sci-fi ideas. I could watch the aliens for ever, but what I found most interesting was The Wall. We see a few bits of this in a couple of episodes but episode 7 is all about The Wall. Many people have noted the emotional content of the start of Disney's Up - I think The Wall episode scores highly there too. Analysis have also said that some (a lot of?) sci-fi is not about science, advanced technology or aliens but it is about our humanity - you can see this too in The Wall episode. An oustanding episode in a very funny series. I loved it - more please.

The Solar Opposites of Rick and Morty
nasdagoodshepherd8 May 2020
When Justin Roiland's new cartoon, Solar Opposites was announced, I was pretty excited, I mean, I adore watching Rick and Morty so go figure. I watched the first episode of Solar Opposites and it was pretty hilarious as hell, I like all the main characters especially Terry, he's pretty funny. The animation of this show is the same as Rick and Morty and so is the writing of the show and it made me smile. Solar Opposites is a real adult animated gem on Hulu and I'm also glad that the continuation of Rick and Morty Season 4 started last Sunday. I personally give Solar Opposites a 9.5/10

The best part of the show is the side-story about THE WALL.
apeppler17 May 2020
Just an average show that would not have much following or the inflated rating had the creator not also become famous for creating Rick and Morty.

The main story is more or less an inter-dimensional cable arc, sadly lacking anyone named Michael, that mostly falls flat. It feels like Rick and Morty with extra steps. The real gem of this show is the The Wall and the characters within. It's no surprise the Wall episode is the highest crowd rated in the season.

Great Rick & Morty Supplement
drisley-7223028 August 2021
This really scratches my Rick & Morty itch when I've run out of R&M episodes. It's different enough to be fresh, but just as funny and just as smart.

I LOVE the first THREE seasons... uh oh S04 massive miss!
jmanngod15 August 2023
Season 4 of Solar Opposites is a major letdown, receiving a dismal 3 out of 10. The writing has taken a distressing nosedive, eroding the show's once-engaging narrative. The absence of Roiland's voice for Korvo is jarring, throwing off the character dynamics and leaving fans disconnected. The questionable choice to sideline Roiland appears to be a disastrous misstep, potentially signaling an impending downfall for the series. This decision raises valid concerns about its potential impact on the beloved show Rick and Morty, leaving fans anxious about its future. The future of Solar Opposites hangs in the balance, its once-promising trajectory now uncertain and unsettling.

HILARIOUS! WATCH FOR YOURSELF.
darrel07628 March 2021
How this show can have a single bad review is beyond me. Such story telling, with great character development. Everyone feels like they could have a side story. Definitely has a Rick and Morty feel, as it's from the same actors and writers. That's a good thing! Enjoy!

Seasons 1-3: 9Stars, Season 4: 4 stars.
Kochipo6 September 2023
The show is great until you get to season 4, Krovo's voice completely changes and ruins the entire world's experience. His register, pitch, accent all run in contradiction to the universe and his personality.

On top of the voice change, the episodes become increasingly less interesting since season 3. Each character feels less and less interesting rather than more with each passing episode. It seems like a wasted IP or perhaps the writers simply used up all their creativity or some internal conflicts ruining their imaginative scripts and scene.

Whatever the case is, the moral of this entire review is to say: Watch until season 4. After that it's dead weight.

Season 4 ruined
wrath-6126326 January 2024
Seasons 1-3 were amazing! Then they fired Roiland, and instead of replacing Korvo with a similar voice, they go with a british voice actor?!?! Terrible decision that doesn't fit the character that Roiland developed. They could have at least gotten someone with a similar voice to play him, or at least with a similar accent. They didn't even approach the voice change in a complex way, they half-assed it. It ruined the entire season and made it impossible to watch. My recommendation for anyone who decides to watch the show is for them to watch the first 3 seasons, then turn off the show and never look back.

I used to love this show, WHAT EVEN IS SEASON 4???
cassandracantrell-1581023 February 2024
Show used to be a 10/10 for me but season 4 made me change it. I'm so upset they changed the voice actor for korvo. I didn't realize how important his character was till they changed the voice actor. The show is NOT the same. They would have been better off making a new character or something. Like why not find someone who sounds similar at least. The British accent completely takes away from the show. Like every time he's on screen I cringe when he talks. I REALLY don't understand the reasoning behind choosing the British accent. It completely changes the vibe of his character. He doesn't sound as serious and deadpan anymore. Maybe to a British person there isn't as much of a difference?? Idk. I just feel like the voice they chose for him makes him have a completely different personality. Like literally every aspect of this show is tainted with the fact they changed the voice. I can't even enjoy the wall side story. Ugh I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a new season for a show.

BUT seasons 1-3 are totally worth watching, don't let my review turn you away completely from this show. Those seasons are a solid 10/10 for sure. I love those seasons!

Love this show! It's funny, well voice acted and it doesn't take itself too seriously like R&M does. I've got a theory that the whole show is actually a show Rick and Morty watch on interdimensional cable lol

CAN PEOPLE STOP COMPARING THIS TO RICK AND MORTY?
akinloluakinyemid7 June 2020
This is not Rick and Morty. It will never be Rick and Morty. Stop making comparisons and enjoy the show for what it is. Some things can just exist to be low stakes and light-hearted. They don't need to have grand story arcs and all of that. I do think the show could be better though. The wall episode was by far the best and it I think the story of the main characters can still be comedic but have that quality. Also thier pet's adventures are enjoyable and I don't think it matters if it doesn't connect to the rest of the story. Just have fun watching the show. Not everything is a competition

For the wall!
ohermanzzon11 May 2020
The show and its main story is alright, nothing more. But the "wall" is great. My first thought when they showed a scene from inside it was "damn, I wish they'd make a whole episode about this". And lo and behold when I got to episode 7 it was just that, and how good was it? It was freaking awesome! For sure the best episode of season 1. I hope they keep spinning on the wall story in season 2.

Season 1 Review- very enjoyable
aidanratesmovies9 May 2020
A very funny, entertaining, and often consistent cartoon- Solar Opposites more than earns its stance as another adult cartoon from the creator of Rick and Morty, and is certainly worth a watch and a laugh. The show is very well animated, and its cast of characters are very enjoyable to watch. It contains familiar story elements from the likes of other adult cartoons (such as Rick and Morty) but it's characters are really what differentiate the show and make it something very unique and special. My favorite character throughout is a small little yellow glob named Pupa, who is equally adorable, and possible the most unique little element to brace the show throughout. The show is easily watchable, and besides maybe the very first episode, it's very consistent, which is both surprising and one of the reasons why it is so easily enjoyable. Its voice performances are very well done, my favorite of which being Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack who I feel fits his character a lot more than I had anticipated. The show does seem to struggle with becoming something totally original in terms of plot and story from time to time, with a few episodes themes and devices feeling all to familiar to other cartoons like it. In the end however, Solar Opposites is a very enjoyable cartoon romp that is very consistent and easily watchable. It may feel a bit too familiar at times, but for the most part, it's a very unique and solidly entertaining cartoon that is more than worth your time. My Rating: 9.5/10

Very enjoyable but nothing amazing
cdoke-5062813 May 2020
If you like R&M you'll like this. Doesn't quite reach the depth that R&M does, but it's an enjoyable show nonetheless. Also there is a "B" plot in every episode thats simply amazing.

It's Just OK. Routine and predictable but a chuckle or two per episode
rubberto30 April 2021
Not comparing to R&M, but it's obvious why people do. I think it does stand on it's own, it's just not a standout. Definitely does not deserve an 8. A high 6 or low 7 for sure. A better comparison is the Simpsons, which is waaayyy better. I'd say it lands in the lower tier of animated family sit-coms. At times it feels like they signed a deal with Hulu and made the episodes reluctantly like they had to. Still, it's watchable and there is a chuckle or two per episode. The wall is more interesting and has more potential than the main storyline.

Fantastic show until recent updates. Britain's actor is a no.
rclaire-5858611 August 2023
This show was funny. Took on hilarious adventures and did the most out of pocket random things. I am very much displeased though with their recasting of Justin Roiland. They have no replaced a funny voiced character into some British character. There are so many other people who could have been chatted that could have kept the same voice. Some many under appreciated voice actors and they chose to go with a British guy. The entire premise of the show disregarding this incoming season was beyond entertaining. A genuinely funny, crazy good time to watch. It kept the same wacky concept from Rick & Morty but completely alien. Season 1 - 3 absolutely worth the watch. Wouldn't bother with season 4.

Doesn't Have To Be Rick And Morty
fireheart-047788 May 2020
This seems like one of the shows Rick and Morty watch on the Interdimensional Cable.

It's extremely random with similar amounts of swear words, gore and meta jokes as Rick and Morty. If you like that, then you'll like this.

It isn't as funny as Rick and Morty but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's not a rip-off either. It's entertaining and has its own moments. Do not compare the two.
